Can someone try playing back a video recorded on the OP5 on a PC? I was just trying it there on a Linux PC with VLC and none of the videos that I'd recorded would play properly - might show the first few frames and then the picture would lock up although the file itself would seem to continue to play according to the progress bar and audio output. VLC usually plays anything thrown at it so wondering if anyone else is seeing this?

It played okay on Windows 10 - 30s video - how big is your file? length of video?

Once the camera is not important to you then it's a great phone. I love the phone but the camera is pretty awful if I am honest. Detail in the shots is terrible. Worse than I thought it would be.

You sure you haven't messed up the settings or something? I took this without adjusting any settings (just to see what the camera was like) and I don't see any issue with the detail in the shot.

Does your network support it? It ' should' work out of the box.

If by "WiFi" you mean VOIP calling then click on Phone (the original phone app) -> Menu -> Settings -> Call Settings -> SIP Settings.

    Is that what you mean?

If not you can set up VOIP calling using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.media5corp.m5f.Media5fone.Mps&hl=en

That shot looks ok tbh but maybe take a shot of a garden or something with grass/leaves/hair. I haven't changed any settings that I know of. I've even been checking the rear lens to see if there's a sticker on it smudging things up :) I'm going to try and take some comparison images with other phones in the next few days. Maybe I'm looking back on old images with rose-tinted glasses but some of the ones I've taken in the last few days seem to have had poor detail, edge definition and excessive noise. I'd love to prove myself wrong though ...

Is there much bloatwear on the phone?

Have unlocked all previous phones and see over on xda about rooting..

Anyone going to try this or wait a while?

Have to say I'm very impressed with it pics are much better than my xperia z3 which I always thought was pretty decent and in it's day was considered one of the better camera phones.

Very impressed with phone very slick and very quick seems impossibly thin.

Little less impressed with customer service was trying to get a referral €20 discount at the time I ordered but they're servers were busy at time and I couldn't get it. Went ahead and ordered as I was afraid the phone would go out of stock. Annoyed I couldn't get a case and screen protector but saw flip case was still in available so chanced that. In my rush though I didn't spot it was a 3T case actually ok as my wife needed a new one anyway.

Annoying then though that the case and screen protectors were back in stock next day and I now had the referral code I could use. I should have just cancelled my original order and reordered. Emailed thinking they'd at least refund me a voucher amount or issue one against purchasing just there accessories. Really not satisfied with their responses. Several emails most quite dismissive in the way they were written first two said the referral voucher was not valid against my purchase. Most were saying I'd have to buy another phone to get the discount of the accessories.

Last email was better but still only solution was for me to send back phone and I could use voucher on new order! I'd threatened this but not really an option as I'm away on holidays soon. It's only €20 but I'll have to pay another €20 on top for express delivery now to get a case before holidays. Really didn't think they refuse point blank to refund it or issue another one against just accessories.

I'm on meteor and they use Eir Wifi calling on certain plans, one of which I'm on.
    It's not Voip as such...

Sky probably don't recognise the device, as it's brand new and they haven't gotten the opportunity to "test" it for use on their service yet.

You'll be waiting until they approve it for use on their service, I'm afraid :)

Got 4.5.2 update earlier, small enough in size, about 35mb.
Haven't noticed anything different yet so likely just bugfixes.

1 odd thing I've noticed is that I have a spare changer in work.
It's a 2.0amp output charger, that I've used throughout the years to charge all types of things.
Last year when I got the OP3, I got a spare usb c cable online and it charged the OP3 with no issues.
It is not charging the OP5 at all!

Has anyone esle tried to charge with a "low power" charger, getting a better result? :)

Charges off a laptop USB port with a spare dash-charge cable that I got with the welcome pack. It did say "slowly charging" on the screen but it worked. Not tried with different charger yet though

Have a 2amp car charger and a anker typeC cable and it worked fine added about 10% in a bit over 10 minutes

Old 1.5 amp sony charger works fine with oneplus cable. I'll try later with micro sd cable and anker micro to type c adaptor

I must check my car charger, that's 2amp also, and see if that's working.

Yeah, it's an old plug and just a generic 2ft usb c cable. It worked fine with the OP3, but it not working with the OP5. I was thinking that it might be a software thing, that they disable low power charging of non official devices. If you get a charge out of the Sony charger, then it might be something else :)

The Meteor website states that you have to "have a compatible device purchased directly from Meteor" in order to use eir WiFi calling. See http://support.meteor.ie/eir-wifi-calling?t=more

Perhaps Meteor load some sort of locked down VOIP app onto the phones they sell which facilitates the eir WiFi Calling feature?

Lads, what screen calibration do you use?
    Default, srgb or dci p3?

At this stage a number of you have received your Oneplus 5, what's the verdict?

I'm a long time iPhone user and debating taking the plunge from a 6S to try out the near stock Android experience on the 1+5. What do you reckon, worth the money, or better waiting to see what others offer over the coming months?

Really happy with it. But there is a but this year.

OP5 is more expensive and getting very close of U11, S8, LG6...there is a lot of flagships around the OP5 asked price.
Very fast experience out of the box and the huge comunity of custom roms, kernels are the main advantages of the OP5 over the other flagships in my opinion.

Thanks for that! I'm leaning toward getting one, the nerd in me wants to take a break from iOS and give Android a spin.

Is it worth buying the screen protector, or is the pre-applied protector enough?
Does anyone have a referral code they'd like to send on so they can gain points and I can get an almost free case?

    Pm'd you one.

As I said earlier I'm very happy with it last 3 phones have been sony xperias.

Wife has a ipad pro which she loves but still wasn't prepared to move to iOS last year for a phone. She got a 3 just before it was discontinued and she's very happy except for one minor issue of no timed profiles.

The 5 does bear more than a passing resemblance to the iphone 7 but it does feel very much like a premium product.

Pre applied protector is good I will probably pick up the tempered one if I don't go for the flip case.

I love my new OP5 and as it happens the only single complaint I have is that I can't find a timed Do Not Disturb profile option in settings. I assumed it was removed as the phone has a manual slider you can set to Do Not Disturb but maybe I just didn't look correctly in settings? Can you steer me towards the timed profile if you've found it?

Voucher for €20 off accessories bought with phone. Doesn't count against any bundles though or special discounts they give of some accessories bought with phone. The €20 voucher is a bigger discount than most of these though.

Edit should mention person supplying referral gets points too they can redeem
