Despite the winning odds remaining stable; the odds are shortening on Mayweather inside the distance.
It's now 8/13 with PP and a few others. The best you can currently get is 4/5 with Stan James. It may be now or never to get on this.

I really envy the poster who got on this at 6/5 and regret waiting for better odds...

yeah. in an un-managed fight the ref stopping for a TKO on McGregor is the most likely option.

Any word yet about what channel this fight will be on for Irish viewers?

Sky Sports will have it on PPV from what I understand but no confirmation yet.

Badou Jack/Nathan Cleverly for Cleverly regular WBA strap (lol) at 175 supposedly near done. Decent fight under the time constraints. Easy defence of sorts for Ward against the winner too if he's arsed.

Gervonta Davis is also booked for the undercard, no opponent yet though.

Find the boxing threads here really informative, I know some of ye have boxed at nationals etc and it shows knowledge wise, (I have messed around with white collar) more a fan of history of boxing I like to think that I know more than the average fan but that's not too hard :) Worked lately with a guy who did boxing and kickboxing for 20 years his knowledge was great. Just two questions

1.Would McGregor win an Irish professional title at 154lbs or indeed at any weight?

2.Would McGregor make the Irish Olympic boxing team at 154lbs or above?

    Cheers :)

Not a chance he would....Sorry, there's always a chance, but you know what I mean..

To explain....Carl Framption is 126 lbs.....anyone here picking Conor to beat Carl?

DOJ just a novice pro, anyone picking Conor to beat him? He's fighting at 135 lbs.

Even less chance that he'd make the Olympic team at 154 lbs. Only 3 rds to try and do it...

I would say no on both counts.

There's every chance Conor could have become a successful boxer if he stuck with it when he was younger. However he didn't, he's not a boxer. So I'd say no on both.

From what I've seen of the sparring with Conor Wallace a 6 time champion he didnt look out of place.

Thanks for that, I saw a video of McGregor training today, his coach was throwing what looked like small clay pigeon projectiles at him, it all looked very impressive :)

Every now and then I will check in here to see whats really happening.....Obviously the big sell is now on and its easy to forget whats really happening :)

Could actually be the beginning of a new direction in sport - match up between different codes

The question is where does this leave boxing and mma - when the biggest ppv is a mixture of sports/codes - the money people in sport will now have a precedence

I think it will sell more than May/Pac.

When you consider how many causal fans of both sports there are added to fans and then added to really casual fans then I think the market is bigger.

The weird thing about this one is it is in Floyd's interest to show him not doing too good in training. I think he'll be at maximum for the fight, but does anyone expect to see a fair bit of stuff from floyd's camp showing how he's 'lost it'?

I dunno, if it's being sold as a competitive fight then yes, but if it's being sold as "let's see this for purely entertainment purposes" then no.

    What?

Either way it's a bank robbery

Even if all is above board (as in both men out to win with no arrangement in place as to how the fight unfolds) it's a bank robbery/farce. By its very nature it is.

It's been sold as a professional boxing match. Selling it as "entertainment" would be detrimental.

More of a straightforward bank transaction imo.

No, Floyd's ego is too big to allow that.
