I think he kinda has tweet it as people are asking him, many people feel shafted over the OPX not getting a 64bit os upgrade (Thanks to qualcomm)

A 7 month old phone will get Android O.....hardly something to brag about! He must think OP3T owners are popping bottles of champagne after reading that tweet.

The more I hear from Lau and Pei the less I like them...

Well you dont need to like them. For me its good to know that 3T will be getting Android O. There's too many android phones which are abandoned quickly for software updates.

OP track record is poor for the updates. OPX is the prime example. If they are looking to change that then I guess they are on the right direction.

Is the cable the same as the one that comes with the phone? What length is the cable? Thanks

Yeah it looks the same, maybe a little shorter.

I always find the cables too long in a car anyway.

Aaaargh, have been waiting for that to come back in stock for as long as I have had the phone!

yeah see its back out of stock again. The have a notify me option on it which I used to get an email alert for when it was back in stock.

They must be planning to have more stock soon as that option only appeared a week or two before it became available.

My Google play services gone mental this week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,242 ✭✭✭god's toy

Google play services locks mostly come a few days before a update to the store or google's own apps.
Restarting the device helps to keep it to a minimum.

EDIT, seeing a wake lock in mine today and lo and behold a update to google photos is waiting. ..

Having some problems with the original OP3 (not 3T) for the last week or so.
    • Notifications seem to be very delayed, ranging from 10-20 minutes before the notification appears to more than a couple of hours. Maybe some are not appearing at all.
    • Tapping on a notification is not opening up the app. Nothing happens, the notification just disappears.
    • Updating apps from the Play Store is all screwed up. Apps are no longer auto-updating.
    • When trying to manually update an app through the Play Store, the download gets to 100% before stopping. No error, it just stays stuck at 100% and won't move on to installing. I have managed to work around this by pressing the multitasking button, swiping away the Play Store, then opening it again. The install then completes. If there are multiple updates pending I need to do those steps for every single app, very annoying.

Anyone experience any of the above?

Stock everything, except for using Nova launcher. Rebooting used to fix the app updating problems for a short period, but the last few days rebooting doesn't solve anything.

I was on the Beta update path for a few google apps, and changed back to the normal path recently - can't think of anything else "out of the ordinary" I have done.
Thinking it may be a Play Services issue or something. Trying to avoid having to do a factory reset...

Running Nova Launcher and haven't had Google Assistant pop up at all is it not compatible with it or is there something I have to do to get it?

I am having exactly the same issues as you on oneplus 3, all stock. Have tried clearing caches, etc. but no joy. Had a hunch as well that it might be Play Services but still can't find a solution. Maybe this latest software update will resolve

I updated last night, and while I haven't been able to verify that all the issues still remain, the problem with installing from the Play Store still exists - install an app and it hangs at 100% downloaded until I manually close the app and then start it up again :( Clicking on the notification does not open the new app either so likely that the notification clicking issue remains too. So it looks like the new OS update didn't solve anything.

I was testing out reminders in Google Now/Assistant since too, and I am not getting any notifications on time for those either.

Please post back here if you find or hear of any solutions :(

Dublin City Centre; 1.86 Mbps down, 19.7 Mbps up. I didn't measure before the update but I would assume the rubbish download speed is just 3 being 3.

That's alright for three, I'm with vodafone but the speed has since gone back up to normal so I presume it was a network issue even though vodafone said it wasn't. I contacts oneplus support and they said the 4g problems were a known issue and told me to reset to factory settings :O I just left it and it's alright now.

Yeah, it must have been a problem in my area even when vodafone said there wasn't. My speeds are back up now but OnePlus did say to me that it is a known issue. Back now anyway so happy enough.

Amazon app store is having the same problem as above, so not localised to the Play Store

I have that also but OH has it also and she has a S6 so it's a FB thing.

I found it only seems to happen when scrolling through a set of photos on a page but last night I opened up an "album" of photos instead of just clicking into 1 photo and scrolling from there. In album mode (showing maybe 9 or 12 thumbnails) I could flick down through an album or 1000 photos with no problem and click into any photo I wanted to see in full res with no issues.

I'll keep an eye on this and see if it works because the other way FB froze after every 4 or 5 photos.

I installed the latest 4.15 yesterday, didn't have any problems before and didn't notice any difference afterwards...

Nice one, we were stuck with S4C on the old analogue cable when crystal maze was on CH4 it drove me nuts. The week chorus brought us CH4 via sideband (god help us!!) Crystal maze finished...
