Thankfully I've met very few but their out there , my Mates girlfriend wouldn't allow him go on my Stag because it was over the Easter bank holiday weekend and she didn't want him drinking and partying, skipping mass etc... on Good Friday , Easter Sunday , she's only 25 hes 26 and was going to be a grooms man up until that point. he's not religious but he puts up with her crazy for admittedly purely shallow reasons ( she's conventionally quite attractive). Like she already told my OH she wouldn't be coming to our wedding because we were having a "heathen" Ceremony (humanist).

I know loads of lads that ended up with girls on the purity ring save myself for marriage kick that was all the craze a few years ago, never lasted long a few weeks or months usually till they cheated hahahahaha

    Was that happening in Ireland?

I think the boot cut jeans thing might be the very wide jeans. Some jeans called boot cut have a very subtle widening that you wouldn't really identify as boot cut.

    Now I think I understand. Thanks. :)

Can someone tell me what is wrong with white socks?

I can't really think of anything shallow that would really be a 'dealbreaker' for me. If like the person I'm going to like them in spite of minor things that annoy me. Also I tend to be a person who develops crushes on people as I get to like them as person and forget the things that irk me.

One thing that would really turn me off would be someone picking their nose, and eating the fruits of their labour.

White socks are essentially sports socks. Meant to be worn when doing sports.

No men should wear ankle socks ever

Everything went downhill with my last boyfriend when he told me one of his life ambitions was to "get built". He also said that he would love to wear jewellery when he could afford some good gold rings and ****. Did not last long after that!

If I guy kept saying normal stuff was "random" I would lose it.

Guys who talk to women in a different voice to when they talk to men.
I hate that "random" sh1te, it usually means you're more broadminded than them

it was but it was short lived thankfully

Oh no why? Flip flops are bad? Even when it's 35c outside?

They make perfect sense in hot weather, like shorts do (another prejudice of mine). It's just one of my peculiar prejudices. I'm getting past most of them as time goes by :)

You seem to think that most women agree with you on virtually everything. Have you polled them or something?

No but i would find it to ring true amongst women i know/work with. Feel free to disagree.

Don't go to Australia, I hardly wore shoes for 2 years, the podiatric freedom is amazing

The ones I wear with shorts you can't see, it's either that or a total sweatfest in your shoes.

Imagine if you went to Australia and all the guys were walking around in shorts and shoes - I can't imagine what they're meant to wear on their feet other than flip flops?

A guy wearing shorts, with nice toned and tanned legs and flip flops is VERY nice.

I used to always say I was 6ft until a girl I met actually brought it up, she outright said 'By the way, there's no way you're 6ft' as if it was some sort of total absurdity that I'd make such a claim, and I was a bit bemused, we talked about it good naturedly and she ended up finding a measuring tape.

    I'm 5'11.

Haha, I did that too! I just find it amusing because most guys I've dated have been around my height and it doesn't phase me one bit. So why they all decide to say they're 6foot is beyond me! For the record, I don't even like super tall guys - they're usually more lanky/skinny and that's not my type. Well, unless you hit the jackpot or something.

I would be somewhat between both camps here. Wearing shorts with woolly white socks up to your knees is not a good look. On the other hand, a man wearing socks that are so low as to be invisible makes it look like he's trying too hard at looking good/coordinated.
I try to strike a balance. These are the types of socks I wear with shorts. Equally repulsive to everybody :D
Overall, there are too many contradictory opinions on what footwear is acceptable in hot weather. Maybe it's just as well we rarely see the sun in this country!

Im talking about guys in my wheelhouse which would generally be Irish guys. Their feet go in flip flops for about 2 weeks a year.

I'm sorry but they are absolutely hideous

If it's warm enough to wear shorts it's warm enough to wear sports sandals or flip flops. Runners with shorts only work if you are actually running.

But they'd be poking out the top? They're awful!! :P

Sorry, I'm firmly in the 'invisible' ankle socks camp here...I don't see how something you can't physically see can be a dealbreaker

Totally agree. As long as toenails are cut too.

Reminded me of a strange experience I had once in a lift. On my own with a perfectly respectable looking businessman who spent the whole time staring at my flip flops and then just said "I really love your feet" in a scary voice.

    Freaked me out!

The only socks acceptable with shorts are trainer liners. Any sock you can see is a no-no.

That said, we're getting into some very shallow dealbreakers when we're talking about socks with this level of detail.

It's a slow day at work and I've no plans this evening, this is the most excitement I'm getting today :(
