Odd-Ear the blonde calved for me yesterday, massive culard heifer, got totally stuck at the hips for 20mins or so, was sure she would suffocate with the roars out of the calf and the cow spinning round and round on the slats. Wasn't until the cow fell down that we could get the jack on proper and take it. Still not walking but stood for me earlier, seems a bit of weakness in one back leg.
Poor aul Oddie lay for an hour after it too, so we let the calf suck lying down.

FFS locked out of agfood for inactivity

I doubt however, that anything would be done with Dept. staff for inactivity

It's Saturday. The IT system has a five day week.

Oh we had a show jumping circuit in the road where we live. Back garden of everyone's house. Dead serious stuff. Often ended in fisty cuffs. Always kicked off around RDS time. We used to time each other on those old digital watches.

And a nice springy whip to give yourself one as you came to the last of the treble...

No way of weighing them here but she's about the same size as that massive black/white blue I had last month, I'd guess 70kg or so from trying to hold her up earlier. Am stiff as a board today after falling on my arse numerous times last night and overpulling.

We were at a first communion today and there was a load of fuss over the cake at the different tables.

Are first communion cakes a thing now?

I'm guessing the boom is back?

Neither did I but there were 3 tables out of 4 with tiered cakes and all the palaver with taking photos of the cake and the girls cutting the cakes, like a mini wedding.

Guess who was at the table with no cake?:D

I think there was something about a boy buying a cow with their communion money on Countrywide this morning.

My father was in shock on hearing this.
Wondering how he was getting so much money to buy A COW!

Anyway here's the clip from this morning.

It must put some parents under alot of financial pressure though, to keep up with what everyone else is doing. Thankfully we are done with communions, but school tour this year is 45 euro  which is crazy, we will be on holidays so young lad wont be going. But imagine having 2 or 3 kids going

The Transition years in my school had to pay €500 for 3 days in London on top of the €500 for doing TY.

Twins doing TY here next year €550 each for TY plus the €130 school registration each and €650 each to go to Barcelona for a weekend. Along with that the school reckon they will need an extra €250 each for other trips and lectures. Having to have a serious think about it as they are very young 15. I was thinking about letting them do 5th yr and repeating it.

I did my leaving at 16, definitely wasn't mature enough to be moving off to college at 17 but I did and just about made it through, never lived at home again, other than the night before my wedding.
I lived longer with my mother in law than my own mother !!

Left school myself at 17 but had a job got, and the boss insisted I do the leaving. I got with the second highest points of the school that year and didn't do college.
Both Brother and sister had to do an extra exam to get the points for college.
