The reason that there not in a hurry,is that the end of the m17 and the start of the tuam bypass is pure bog and they don't want they same thing happening like it did on the m7

Thanks! It's not always from Cork, it can be Kerry also, which means I have to endure both Adare and the N20 too!

Anyway, back on topic. Thanks for the info m17. As is always the story, there is usually always a reason for something being done a certain way that isn't obvious at first glance.

Do they run fibre ducts or the like along motorways?

No pics, but the jersey barrier on the M17 near Tuam has now been completed up to the roundabout at Kilmore. There is also some work being done on the approach to the roundabout from the existing N17.

I could easily imagine that roundabout being opened by this day week, unless there are hitches.

That's a fantastic website btw, some great information on it.

So, the exit for Claregalway on the motorway is just "Baile Clair", as thats what the rules state for signs for Gaeltacht towns.

I see the town name is not perfectly in line with the road number, slightly higher than it should be, so half prepared for the inevitable outcry that the commonly use name for the town isnt on the motorway sign, and they can sneak in Claregalway below the Irish version of the town name!

(BTW, do I have a sense of deja vu about this? Did it not come up before about claregalway signage?)

Like others i've been following your updates with great interest and appreciation.

The pictures you post of different areas of the motorway at one year and two intervals at great.

Pity you didn't include yourself in some of them, would be cool the same object against the different backgrounds kinda like that AIB add :):):):):)
