Tis funny how the 30 day defence rule meant Naomi had to forfeit the title in feb/march but lesnar wont seemingly defend one of the 2 main titles for likely 90 days but they ignore the rule. Lack of a real champion in raw is seriously hurting the intrigue in the product

I'm sure they'll still have some crap hip hop song as the theme instead of the obvious. Must be Vince's new term for his grapefruits

    Raw2016Logo-500x281.jpg

That time of the bastard week again, good brothers and sister, it's another RAW, episode #? (answers on a postcard please).

Also as Fozzy get ready to hit the road, tonight or tomorrow on Smackdown Live will sadly be the goodbye of Jericho, who takes his newly won United States Championship off him? Or will he head out on tour with the championship (Similar to how Punk legged it after Money In The Bank 2011)?

Speaking of newly won championships, Alexa Bliss is the new RAW Women's Champion.

Anyways here's the rest of the preview

    Braun Strowman rules Team Red
Roman Reigns was seemingly the only person who could end Braun Strowman’s onslaught, but The Big Dog was utterly demolished last night at WWE Payback. After The Monster Among Men pinned Reigns, the unsatisfied behemoth used the steel steps to horrifically assault The Big Dog.

Reigns went into the bout with cracked ribs, a separated shoulder and internal injuries, but the post-match carnage certainly increased that damage. Even though The Big Dog fended off Strowman when the juggernaut attempted to continue the brutality on Raw Talk — tearing off an ambulance door in the process — there will be no stopping The Monster Among Men when he strikes next. How will Raw General Manager Kurt Angle respond to what transpired during and after last night’s main event, and what does the future hold for the injured Reigns?

Cesaro & Sheamus reach their boiling point
Cesaro & Sheamus seemed gracious enough after their loss to The Hardy Boyz last night at WWE Payback, but there was no grace in what transpired shortly afterward. As the victorious brothers celebrated with the titles they so valiantly defended — risking life, limb and even teeth in the process — the unsuccessful and clearly frustrated challengers snapped, laying out Matt & Jeff and holding up the Raw Tag Team Titles they failed to earn.

The aggressive duo seemed very proud of what they did to The Hardy Boyz when they appeared on WWE Network’s Raw Talk, with The Celtic Warrior taking particular pride in knocking out one of Jeff’s teeth during the bout. How will The Hardy Boyz respond on Raw?

You OBSOLETE HERETICS have no idea what you've just done.

There’s no room for The A-Lister in The Bálor Club
After The Miz called Finn Bálor a “failure” during “Miz TV” on the WWE Payback Kickoff, the charismatic Irishman proved he is nothing of the sort when he nailed the arrogant A-Lister with a Sling Blade before dropkicking him into the corner. We’d like to believe this will teach Miz to keep his mouth shut, but we know better.

Last night, Bálor made it clear that he’s focused on reclaiming the Universal Championship, which he was forced to relinquish one night after winning it at SummerSlam last year. And yet, before the mysterious Superstar sets out to slay The Beast Incarnate, it seems like he might have some unfinished business with The Miz. Might we see a “sequel” encounter between Bálor and The A-Lister tonight?

    Bliss celebrates a history-making win
In Bayley’s hometown of San Jose, Calif., Alexa Bliss captured The Huggable One’s Raw Women’s Championship at WWE Payback to become the first competitor to win both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles, having already held the Team Blue title on two occasions. Last night’s win is one The Wicked Witch of WWE won’t soon forget, and she’ll set out to make sure the WWE Universe doesn’t forget it anytime soon, either.

The small but fierce Bliss brings her newly won championship to Raw. How will she kick off her reign?

    Hobbled Kingslayer stuns Samoa Joe
Despite absorbing a brutal assault on his right knee throughout his match against Samoa Joe last night at WWE Payback, Seth Rollins persevered and — despite the insurmountable odds — managed to pin The Samoan Submission Machine and limp away from WWE Payback with a victory.

Now, having attained retribution against Triple H and Samoa Joe — the two men who threatened The Architect’s livelihood in the lead-up to WrestleMania — what’s next for the triumphant Rollins?

Owens to open to say he's back on Raw? Maybe he'll say he lost on purpose to get back

Who is responsible for Dean Ambrose being WWE's "funny man"?

    They should be shot.

The triple threat main event was excellent. Finn and Seth have great chemistry and the Miz added a lot to it. Great how good Rollins was when not having to sell his knee (well he did have to at the end obviously). The whole knee thing has limited Seth in the ring so it was nice to see him back to his best even if it makes little sense given Joe destroyed his knee at Payback.

I agree the triple threat match was brilliant, I really enjoyed it - the chemistry between them was something else. It was also great to see Finn fighting in a proper match for the first time after his comeback. I thought creative were just going to forget about the whole Finn & Bray rivalry - hopefully it's just a filler feud for Finn to go on and fued with Brock for the title when he comes back

Brock, Brock, Brock, Brock, Brock, Brock, Brock

Are we heading to another 'Bray Wyatt is awsome and this is the start for him' but it will turn out meh but Balor vs Wyatt will be good they have to bring out the demon though

so going forward for the next few weeks the main stories are

    Joe vs Rollins
Ambrose vs Miz for the intercon title
    Wyatt vs Finn Balor
Possibly Reigns and/or Strowman vs Lesner for the Universal title
Hardyz vs Cesaro/Sheamus for tag titles and maybe other teams entering the frey
    Apollo Crews and Titus thing
    Nevile/Areis/Tj Perkins crusierweight title
Divas thing led by Bliss, Bayley

The main event was good but a bit sloppy in parts. I thought Rollins had messed up Finn's elbow again with that botched crossbody.

I have to say I don't buy Rollins or Balor as legitimate threats to Brock. It's too much. Strowman or Reigns or Joe I could accept, but it's too far-fetched imo to think a super heavyweight like Lesnar could lose to a guy who would not look out of place on 205 Live.

Raw had some nice segments; Cesaro Sheamus Hardys bit, Alexa is charisma and character wise head and shoulders above everyone and it showed and the main event was very enjoyable.

But the 3 hours kills it. Too much filler, too much pointless matches, it sucks the enjoyment out of the show as a whole.

Eddie Guerrero vs Brock for the title back in early 2000's sometime. Who would have believed that yet it was a fantastic match and fantastic pay off for Eddie and the fans in the end. If done right then it could be great.

I remember Daniel Bryan saying before he wanted to wrestle brock as well cause he thought he could tell a great David vs goliath story with it.

To be fair to MNG, Eddie and DB look bigger/wider than Finn. (Esp Eddie, he was fairly big back then.). Finn has a much thinner frame and even though he looks ripped, he still casts a smaller figure than Bryan.

Lesnar vs Punk was a cracking match and Punk looked like sh*t.

Could having more exclusive weight divisions work??

Junior Heavweight (bit bigger that cruiserweight but not too big)

    heavyweight (300+ guys)

Ever wonder how Bray gets to the back after he "disappears" from the ring? Post-Raw last night...

I agree Finn is too small to go against Brock. Rollins I don't have a problem with. He's 6"1 220lbs and is able to do power moves to much larger opponents so it's fine.

What they should do is have Strowman vs Brock at Great Balls Of Fire () and then at Summerslam have a triple threat between Brock, Rollins and Finn. That would be a hugely entertaining match similar to the classic from Royal Rumble a few years ago with Brock, Rollins and Cena. Brock could manhandle Finn and Seth suplexing them across the ring until they team up on him and take him out of the match. It could be a way for Brock to drop the belt too without getting pinned as it's crazy for him to hold it till Mania next year.

No problem with Brock vs Finn, it's David vs Goliath, one of the oldest wrestling stories in pretty much all of wrestling.

    I'd enjoy Brock vs Finn.

It would be a fresh story for Brock, and a fresh match up too. The size difference could make for a fascinating story.

Was that Finn's first loss on the main roster?

Might be a slightly unpopular opinion but I don't really get Finn Balor's appeal, and I think that he'll slink down the card in time. He seems very wooden on the mic compared to someone like Miz. What he has going for him is that he has the whole ultra-cool persona, and that he was very hot in a different wrestling market, but I can't see that keeping him afloat in WWE longterm. Others like AJ Styles have the same kind of positive attributes listed but also seem quite natural in front of American audiences.

Just out of curiosity did you watch much of his nxt work? I thought that was excellent. I think in time he will be one of the top guys. Unfortunate he got injured so early on. Think a heel run maybe forming leading the club will have him shine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,244 ✭✭✭lycan238

I think if Balor teamed with Gallows and Anderson and formed the Balor Club and let that run for a while with Balor as a heel when he turns face again he should be ready for a singles run with World Title. Let others have the title for now and Balors day will come.
WWE also need to use Balor correctly for him to get over which I don't have full confidence they will. I seen some but not all of his NXT PPV (takeover specials) matches/promos but very few of his weekly stuff.

Sure if Brock wins his next match, then Finn will have a long time between now and Brock's next match after GBoF to earn the shot.
