I'm sure I could sort out something for anyone thats wants something like this. But just to be clear I'm not looking to sell or profit from it.

Would be more than happy to compensate for your time doing it and I'm sure acrylic like that isn't cheap. Was going to pull the trigger on an RGB lamp from abroad but this is a lot closer to what I was looking to try. Those small ones are crazy small, like Zelda-ception :P

Can anyone tell me, what's the deal with the dlc for Darius Burst on the PS4/Vita?
I mean, it's expensive enough, and you don't seem to get a huge amount for your investment.
    Anyone here take a dip?

I've bought them all on PC and think they are pretty great. You get a new ship that significantly changes the base game mechanics and 3 new remixed stages designed for that ship but can also be played by any other ship. You also get remixed music from the games the ships are from.

It feels like a big step back from last of us. That game might have been very story heavy but the gameplay really fell back on its mechanics rather than glorified qte sequences. Not sure if I could say it's better than uncharted 3 as I can't remember enough of that game to judge.

I wouldn't say it is better than Uncharted 2 but I really enjoyed it. it felt it was made with non gamers in mind with how easy it is, it aint dark souls, to sell some units but it looks beautiful and has that high naughty dog production. Just started Rise of the Tomb Raider so after going through Uncharted 4 again it will to good see how they match up. Played that Shadow of Mordor, awful game, button mashing nonsense.

The kickstarter for the ZX Spectrum Next has been launched. Fairly hefty goal of £250,000 and not cheap price but it's approaching £190,000 already and it only launched at midnight.

Must admit the Rick Dickinson designed keyboard looks lovely.

(Felt sure there was a kickstarter thread but couldn't find it. Sorry.)

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

In fairness to them, they have a list of working stuff compared to other failed kickstarters.

Probably not gonna back it though.

I've gotten zero time on games in the last while.
I know I'm going to buy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but i also know that I will probably not play that much.
It's like a badge, a set of expectations that I maintain for myself.
    This is who I am....
But is it who i am now?

    Bugger

They have almost reached their funding goal in less than 24 hours! Impressive.

I'm still undecided. 50 quid less and I'd have signed up at midnight. For cased version I could get a zx81, a Zxpand and new divmmc for my spectrum and still have a few quid left.

If people want them i can do it. Might be best to do it in one batch for whoever wants them. List all the prices/costs here so its clear its not for profit etc. Unless the mods are against it?
I've just started trying laser etching on glass as well with decent results(decent for my first go anyway).

Apologies for the pantry pic, its so hard to get a decent pic of clear glass thats been lasered :)

Also, I think it looks better in green acrylic than clear. This green one is 10 inches long.

Funded. Hopefully some decent stretch goals might appear to encourage me to buy a Next!

    Edit:
Weak willed. Have backed it, just have to pay for it now.

I made this as a desk model. Now I'm wondering if I can get a Raspberry Pi Zero in there and a tiny screen :)
    It's 5 inches tall.
There's artwork on the sides as well once I remove the protective sticker.

The glue set so took the stickers off. Not bad for my first go.
If I'm making another clear one I'll use a proper clear and not blue clear plastic.

I think that blue clear looks fantastic. Saying that, I thought it looked pretty darn good when it still had the paper on.

I'm definitely not sold on the clear blue plastic. I dunno, it sort of looks cheap to me.

I need to perfect my gluing for it to be a bit sharper :)

They look great Steve, how long do they take to cut and assemble?

Most of the work is getting everything setup and ready to go on the software side of things(getting the image/vectors correct and the layers for cutting and engraving done properly).
But the actual cutting time is only about 2-3 mins at slow speed, engraving the artwork and "screen" is about 5-10 mins. Putting together depends on how handy you are at gluing stuff. It all clicks in together, but needs glue to hold it.

On the glue, you need to use a particular type for acrylic so it sets clear and not white or hazy like superglue does.

Although I'm a total PS1 lover, I never really fell in love with the Crash Bandicoot games. Had a look at them online there and can't understand how they're priced so high at ?30-50.

Are they not extremely common games to command such a price? Or am I missing something?

Nostalgia factor with those who were kids and grew up playing crash and are now in their 20's with disposable income. Same thing happened with spyro.

They were always b tier platformers even on PS1 but they were popular. It's like all the common nes and snes games now commanding premium prices even if those were way better than crash.

I wouldn't really call Spiro b-tier, but for Crash, I suppose. The game still uses the same platformer design philosophy that dates all the way back to Pitfall. Just this time with a 3 dimensional plane.

Much preferred Spyro to Crash. Crash didn't click with me for some reason but I didn't mind Crash Bash.

I don't think spyro has aged well either. It's like a poor man's mario 64 and has way too much talking just like the rare games of the era and the aesthetic us way too cute and try hard. They're good but there's a lot better.
