I'm confused. She can't even repeat the abuse her disabled child is getting in case she offends someone? WTF is wrong with the world. Poor woman, I genuinely feel for her, it's a tough life with a child with disabilities and to not even be able to repeat the abuse is yet another form of bullying.

I wouldn't be her biggest fan, but I really admire how much she does for harvey. She's regularly campaigning and highlighting issues and he seems a really happy confident funny young man any time I've seen him in interviews. She seems like a great mam. Yeah she has money and help etc but it's not easy and I wouldn't take that responsibility on willingly for any kind of money so fair ****s to her.

I'm going to follow her on twitter so I can keep abreast of what's
    going on in her life.

She was repeating what was said to her son. PC police on patrol again.

So, After Hours is a Daily Mail echo chamber now is it?

I'm surprised the resident antifa twats aren't all over this already.

Why is she even telling her son about the online bullying, he can't read it himself. Ignorance bliss and all that.

Would you like to be reading stuff like that about your child?

It's abuse on her social media. She doesn't have to make him aware at all. Using it to try keep herself relevant.

It's probably more likely he's hearing about it in places like school or just through his own browsing, there are solutions for blind people.

given the context in which the word was used, the use of the word was necessary to hi-light the issue. people should be angry at the vermin who think it's okay to abuse this young lad rather then simply a word, which while it ideally shouldn't be used, is sometimes necessary in very limited contexts. i get people don't like katie price and that's fine, that's their issue. but there is no reason or excuse to take it out on her children.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

It's ridiculous to have such a complete taboo on a word yet at the same time have it spouted constantly throughout music, tv and film.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,743 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

    This is all nonsense.

I'd love to know how many people are genuinely up in arms about this - almost none I'd say. Surely not enough to warrant the coverage.

Should be Dwight on there speaking up for his son. Excuse of a man.

Is echo chamber the new fad phrase?

I get the feeling people just like the sound of it like the sound of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,166 ✭✭✭Are Am Eye

I think the people who use that abuse, like the idea that others
and their targets are shocked and cowed. That they'd flinch at the
language. So she's not flinching. To stand up very openly and
publicly and repeat their ugly slurs takes a bit of power from them.
She's saying 'I'm not shocked. I can say your poison words out loud'

    Dignified and Honorable.

I dunno, All I see is banning words seems to give them power.

She was right to repeat the words, however horrendous they are, to show the world what her son is subjected to.

If you are offended by that, then you need to grow up.

She is severely misguided in her attempts to protect her son as evidenced by this petition she started.

    https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/190627

This is a non story however.

Hate how it's referred to as the 'n word'. It's ******, an offensive word sure, but just a word at the end of the day. It's not some dangerous black magic incantation.

We don't refer to Mick as the 'm word' for example.

There are more than just one set of opinions on After Hours you know.....

You also realise that those on the Right see AH as a Lefty Love-in?

    It's probably somewhere in between.

Instead of a flippant remark, why not give your opinion on what Katie Price said?

Fair play to Kate. Why shouldn't she stand up for her son. The people who abuse others are the ones who should be ashamed.

Where is Dwight Yorke in all this? He seems to have shunned the kid.

There was less uproar when her son said "Cunt" live on Loose Womdn.

It'd be like opening a window and fûcking the night...

Back on topic. Slow news day... Using the 'n' word... Pffft - it's just a word. Get over it already.

    By the by...

Isn't Dwight Yorke (ex footballer) Harvey's dad? Poor excuse of a man if he is.

I didn't overly check because I don't really care but a lot of people seem to be outraged about the outrage. I actually didn't come across any outrage about Katie Price saying ******. Whatever the cause or mission she is on she seems to be very successful promoting it. But still bloody annoying.

What's the big deal? Yes it's a derogatory word but so is many other words. Her disabled child is being referred to as that word, she's using it in that context. People have little to be offended about

She's promoting herself. Grabbing headlines for a just cause to keep herself in the limelight. She ain't getting any younger like.

Mmmmmmm......she's a milllionaire, yes an attention seeker, but she doesn't need to grab headlines anymore. She is a mother who is disgusted about how people are slagging her kid. For a bit of context, there has been a lot of coverage about mothers standing up against the hse to allow their children to obtain medicine. A mothers love knows no bounds for their kids....and she is right for calling out keyboard warriors who make fun of him!

I hear ya but this woman will be trying to grab headlines til the day she dies.

Easier ways for her to grab headlines....she doesn't bring her other kids to limelight...she is standing up for her son....is that not ok? For example if she walked from one end of the country to the House of Commons to raise awareness for her sons buullying would she be applauded or called an attention seeking b1tch? If Harvey needed a medicine that wasn't on the medical card and she was raising awareness for it, is she an attention seeking wh0re? Or is she a mother looking out for her kid but an easy target because she was a glamor model in the past?

TBH, Ms. Price seems delighted to be able to get up on her high horse about people's reactions to her son. She should be shielding her kids, not pushing and prodding them into the limelight. I think the abuse Harvey receives will affect him more profoundly because she makes such a song and dance about it. Hideous woman. And her two young 'uns are so obnoxiously gobby and precocious. I know that's not their fault and this is the only life they know but that can't end well. Imagine having her and that Andre... thing for parents? Shudder.
