    That Status Quo thing

Looked like it started out trying to be like ZZ Top but then they gave it to Dodgy Phil to record, who was more used to doing X rated videos he sold in the Dog and Duck.

You are seeing the birth of the British music video industry, courtesy of such technology as the Quantel Paintbox.

Before long they'd be world leaders.

Mike Read used to be stinking up Saturday Mornings on BBC1 around this time, never liked him at all.

Nothing worse than music videos that have Benny Hill-style 'speeded up' bits.

    And a legend is born.

    My story about Boy George...

...in later years he was on his uppers and had to leave his apartment.
He employed his dad (who was from Thurles, I believe) to help.
On clearing out an extensive wardrobe, Dad was heard to remark:"How many dresses do you actually need?".

Music nowadays could do with a few more George O'Dowd's.

    Nile Rodgers - legend :)

I only found out very recently, he produced Stevie Ray Vaughan's final album and (zoiks!) one of Daivd Lee Roth's (presumable) masterpieces.

The Alarm were cruelly cut out of TOTP tonight, but they will be in the extended late night repeat.

They should have left out that Quo video instead, it cannot be unseen.

I'm just thinking on where to go to next..
Might search for some live James Brown..

If anyone hasn't seen it, Soul Power, the documentary of the concert surrounding the Rumble in the Jungle in Zaire is unmissable..

I didn't get to see that show. Which Quo video caused all the hassle?

Here you go sligojoek, even youtube doesn't have it but MTV have it tucked away in their rarely seen corner.

    Wow. Words fail me.

It reminded me of an interview I saw with Bernie Marsden.

How did you feel when you first saw Whitesnake doing your song Here we go again on MTV?

Bernie: You mean 5 americans and David?

The Alarm were indeed in the Late Night Repeat just now.

Typical anti-Welsh bias to keep them off the early show, isn't it?

    Tune.
