I would also recommend Anker. Just purchased their fast wireless charger and it's great. Amazon UK. Costs about 15 EUR

Anker in general do some great products.

Can you use the charger directly (ie...without the wireless pad)?

Yes, the anker one I have is not a wireless one, fast charge type. Came with plug only not usb though.

The official Samsung S View protective case/covers are on offer on Amazon UK. You can pick them up for about 20 -30 EUR now.
A little more expensive than you might want to pay but well worth it at that price IMHO.

I have the zagg glass contour and the sview - fit perfectly. I've not had any trouble with the zagg lifting.

Got a Zagg Glass Contour for the S7 Edge recently but the cover I have, Obliq Slim Meta, is causing it to raise off the screen. Anyone know of a good reasonably priced cover that is compatible with the Zagg?

You don't get a charger in the box with the Anker wireless pad. Just the pad and standard USB/micro-USB cable. Important to note to use the "fast" charging part of the wireless pad, you need to use a fast charging wall charger. Otherwise it will charge at the normal (slow) wireless charging rate. Any of the Qi Anker wall chargers will be fine.

Cheers for the suggestion but I'm not a fan of those kinda of cases, use my phone too much to be opening it up all the time.

Upgrade from the s6 to the s7 edge today loving the screen so far I was gonna go for the s8 but can't justify that money on a phone.

What's people's favourite case or covers? I don't like flip covers so something like the otterbox ok on the edge?

This is what I've had on my S7E since it was released last year
    http://www.spigen.co.uk/cell-phone/samsung/galaxy-s7-edge/galaxy-s7-edge-case-neo-hybrid.html

Has held up excellent and endured quite a few drops. Case isn't so big that it takes away from design of phone

So over a year in after release of the S7, how are people finding it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 210 ✭✭writhen

Anyone got a thin red line running down the right hand side of the screen? Appeared about a week ago. Looking on the net seems to be an issue that's cropping up. If you press lightly under the camera lens it goes away.

Same. The last week or two the battery seems to have deteriorated. I have mine about 8 months now

Ya battery went from 26-28 hrs of use down to 16-18 hours max in the last 2 weeks
WTF - driving me nuts as I thought it was a rouge app

Oh I like that case. Looks nice and as you say it's not too big.

    Have an S7 since launch.
Battery issues started in the past week or so, before that the battery life was great. Possibly coincided with an update but i cant recall. Last night for example it went from 30% to straight to zero as I was looking at the screen! Checked all my apps and it doesn't seem to be any of the ones I installed causing the problem but i disabled some stuff in safe mode like samsung VR which seems to be draining it. So far today it's all good but it was fully charged this morn and had little use today.

Back cover glue is iffy also which i didn't notice until recently when taking off the otterbox protection i have on it. Seems to be a well known issue with early batches which I hadn't spotted before now.

Have mine since January of this year and I am noticing battery drain since the last small update.

I am on BTU firmware for 7.0, February security update and I haven't noticed any difference in battery drain. Possibly a Vodafone firmware issue?

Lads is there any point in flashing the btu firmware? I only have the s7 a month or two. It's Vodafone btw.

I wish I could just uninstall the last update.

Cannot seem to find any information on what is causing it for this particular update.

Looking to buy an edge once my current credit runs out. What are the disadvantages of going bill pay? Apart from 2 year contract is the phone restricted in anyway? I.e doesn't get updates?

Have ordered a spigen case for it but not sure if i need a screen protector. Anyone without one experience any scratches? Am usually very careful so it would just be scratches from pocket lint id be worried about. How does the screen hold up with a protector?

Same. I have a thin clear case but that's to stop me chipping it. I know if it falls it'll likely crack. Hasn't happened yet with a phone and I'm hoping it never does. Not a single mark on the phone.

Good to hear. I'd hate to have to cover up such a great screen.

I've had the S7 since Jan now and whilst the phone is great (coming from iPhone) I'm utterly sick of the battery life. Disconnected from charger at 100% six hours ago. 42% battery left. Maybe an hour playing Spotify with the screen off connected to a Bluetooth speaker. But like this every day. Have blanked the phone back to factory settings to no avail. Without an external battery to recharge I wouldn't get to 7pm.

I don't use Spotify but you've three apps there whichI would think would be tough on the battery, maybe not to such a large extent though. Continuous data, Bluetooth and Spotify itself.

Era that would be pretty unusual and only at weekends. Almost as bad on workdays.

Fair enough. Mines similar. I still get a full day from it but before I might still have 40% when going to bed, now it's much less and close to dead at times.

I was abroad with work for a few days last month and cos I get 'free' data etc with work I used my work phone exclusively. IPhone SE. If anything my phone usage was above my normal day to day. And I had that - 35% come 9pm. Has shone the crippled battery of my S7 in even worse light .
