    Europe Charts?!

    *record scratches*

I think the European chart rundown was a short lived experiment.
Still I guess JP enjoyed the trip.

Jonathan King used to do the USA Charts on TOTP around this time, but he's one of them so we don't see that.

    Was that chat/chart moribund, I don't think so! :D

Madness definitely understood the music video format straight off the bat, when MTV was in it's infancy.

    Genesis, not so much :D

If Peter Gabriel hadn't left Genesis, would we ever have heard of Phil Collins?

    Now there's a thought.

Can't believe Depeche Mode's single dropped down the charts, after they had a whole night on BBC Four last Friday.

Obviously didn't translate into Sales. Ah well!

I predict happy times ahead for these Birmingham boys. Especially if they keep an eye on where their profits are going :)

UB40- two left handed guitar players?

Or maybe they are larking about.

Did I tell you my joke about the double bass?

The orchestra go out for lunch. When they come back they find the double bass player and the triangle player at each other's throats.

When they are separated the conductor asks what the problem is.

"That bast*rd triangle player has detuned one of my strings" says the double bass.
    "So"?" says the conductor.
"HE WON'T TELL ME WHICH ONE!!!"

Written by Neil Diamond, dontcha know.

'Red Red Wine', not this New Order song.

Now THAT would be interesting :)

Google regrets to inform me that no-one has made a mash up of Song Song Blue Monday. Yet.

His head, voice and jumper still annoy me 36 years on. I guess it's time I let it go :D

Was raging when I heard that Blondie are playing support to Phil Collins. They're coming all the way over here to do a support gig for that git. :(

If they did a standalone gig I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Excellent Manics documentary on Sky Arts right now.

What always troubled me about the 'Everything Must Go' -era Manics, was that for better or for worse (as alluded to in the documentary), they attracted the Oasis 'Derp' Crowd who had never heard of the band pre-'A Design For Life', and who only liked the band not for 'Libraries Gave Us Power' but 'We Only Want To Get Drunk' :(

Was never a fan of the Manics (if I never heard Motorcycle Emptiness again, I would die a happy man), but would have watched that doc - any idea when it's being repeated?

One of the best documentaries I've seen in a long time - extremely rare video footage from that era as well as demo versions of EMG songs.

I forgot to stick the tape in tonight, I'll make sure to catch the repeat.

I was never a huge fan but I always enjoyed seeing the Manics at Festivals.

They always played a 'Festival Friendly' set with some cracking cover versions.

I've seen Embrace a few times, loved their work.

I remember seeing them at Witnness a long time ago, Danny McNamara said "This is brilliant, I'm so happy today I feel like I got the Moon On A Stick"

Well, nobody else bar me and my buddy got the reference but we were so happy we also felt like we had the Moon On A Stick

Not literally?!? You have heard of DVRs, right?

Yesterday I was trying to explain to my daughter what a game cartridge was, then I let it slip that back in the 80s we didn't even have them we loaded games off cassettes, then I had to try to explain what a cassette was :(

    I feel old...
