I always thought the Dave Stewart who got to Number One with 'Its My Party' was Dave Stewart-Eurythmics, but it wasn't.

This is rather awkward, new statement issued by the BBC at 1409 today
We were informed by close family and friends that Brian had passed away in the night. They have since been in contact to say that he remains critically ill
We will update with more information when we have it. Our thoughts remain with his family at this very difficult time.

Just when you thought that the BBC's treatment of Brian Matthews couldn't get any worse....

To add insult to injury, they are still standing by their claim that he "stepped down" as host of SOTS and put it in their statement - even though he publicly denied that was the case and said that he had effectively been sacked.

Great work as usual Mr X, and much appreciated..

A weekend to set the VCR for - the only way you could improve the weekly missal would be to include the VideoPlus codes :)

    Thank-you as always Skid X

I was watching one of the TOTP's last week- July 1983- while i recognised a lot of the chart songs of that week, I hardly recognised one song that played on that show in the episode which is a bit unusual for me; I must have had a good Summer outdoors that year and further more, those songs must have been some of the more forgetful songs of that period.

The charts today could do with a lot more Bananarama.

Would love to see them in concert. i don't know if it's even possible or are they all still alive.

I see Tom Jones is playing Punchestown racecourse this summer along with ABC, Deacon Blue and the Village people. I don't think i'd fancy trying to get out of Punchestown after a concert but would love to see ABC. Wish they'd play the Olympia or another small venue.
