There's so much ice there, it looks like the only thing missing from that glass is the Titanic

 I don't even have any ice in the house. Not a drop of water, frozen or not, entered that glass. I wouldn't pollute a good whiskey.

Actually, just looked at the pic, yeah it does look like ice! Weird...

    I can't see the ice.

Is this going to be the new blue & black/cream & gold dress again?

FFS is it a boy or a child, and the name?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,166 ✭✭✭✭Zzippy

It's a boy (also a child) and the name starts with A, so awec and ak can both think they're awesome and I won't disillision either of them... ;)

Ah that's alright so, as they say, the only thing you should put in a glass of good whisky...Is more whisky.

Pic is misleading though, it does look like there a couple of I've cube in there, weird enough.

It's just a finely constructed piece of glassware. Zzippy is clearly an hombre who appreciates the finer things.

There is plenty a cask strength whisk(e)y out there that is improved immeasurably with a drop of water.

True, but nothing that's between 40%- 46% that should be touched by it
I have some Redbreast 12yo cask strength and nikka from the barrel 57% and needs a touch of water .... But the others, never

For those of you who like your scotch, Dunnes had a decent price on Glenfiddich 12 on the weekend, 40 squid a bottle. A nice easy malt for those who don't want the heavier Islay malts.

I like my whiskey like my women. 18-24 years old, smooth and leaves me sore in the morning :D sorry, I know I'm a dirty old man.

Have to say I'm a big fan of Chivas. Has anyone tried Pappy van Winkle? It's on my bucket list.

    Jaysus whiskey?

I cannot drink anything where the smell hits me before the taste (sit down at the back Erik Shin).

Almost died drinking poteen years ago and even now if I got the smell of it I would probably get sick.

Lagavulin 16 would be my whisky of choice though I try to keep 7 or 8 on the go at the same time for variety's sake.

That's overdoing it a bit don't you think? What does your employer think of this? Do you wheel them around with you on a trolly?

I do enjoy sitting out on the balcony in the summer evenings with a whiskey and a cigar.

Well, following on the whisky theme, here is a very pleasant cocktail that you can make with any semi-decent scotch

    http://www.idrink.com/v.html?id=1138

Whisky, Cherry Brandy, Sweet Vermouth and Lemon Juice. Called a Sand Trap.

Could any saffers on the board tell me what chocolate is popular in SA? Wouldn't mind scoring brownie points with the OH's mother for Easter.

F me. That's posh. You'd think you're living in a wealthy city full of high fallutin' folks from the UN etc.
