Always thought the night I came home from the hospital after my first born arrived I'd crack open the Midleton and fire up a fat Cuban. Instead I was so hungry and tired it's Supermacs drive-thru and straight to bed.

The Midleton can wait til tomorrow :)

    Congrats!

Congrats Zzippy. But you're a bit soft. :pac:

I remember returning to my parent's house (closer to the hospital) after my first was born by emergency C-section at 3am and my Dad had left a bottle of Hennessy on the kitchen table with a note to celebrate the occasion.

    I certainly did :)

awec, would you believe you said the same thing to me when my kids were born.

And weirder yet, would you believe I gave my son the same name as you!

I would believe it cause you told me at the time you named him after me. I remember feeling very honoured.

Congrats Zzippy, you are truly a lucky man as you'll be able to bring the little one to their first interpro at only 4 days old :pac:

What else would he name someone that is going to spend the next two years pooping on everyone in range ;)

Congrats Zzippy, you're priorities have now permanently changed but don't forget to make more time for sleep. You can add a few extra "Z's" to the start of your name!

Jayzus, all very tiring stuff. I had my lunch and a cup of tea at 1.30pm. We drove in to the hospital at 2.30pm. Babies came at 5.11pm and 5.13pm and I was home on the couch at 10pm with a glass of wine and a chipper.

Congratulations. Thats the best tired in the world.

Take the time to enjoy that Midleton though, the opportunities get a bit rarer for a while.

Amateurs. I delivered* my daughter at home and then made breakfast.

*The midwife actually showed up right as she was crowning, but I had the towels and hot water ready, so I made the tea.

Didn't know that births happened at home these days.

Brothers missus had a baby Sunday past in Oz.

He rings the hospital on Saturday..." Hi can I be put through to the maternity ward to find out about Rebecca"

    "Certainly...is this her first child"

    "Eh no...It's her partner Steve"

    Dope.

Yep, friend of mine did it a fortnight ago, her hubby, doula and a blow up birthing pool ! Not my scene, but to each their own

What's this, not satisfied with poaching Fijian schoolboys, now you want to claim Irish newborns?! :p

Well I reckon the fateful shot was fired somewhere near lake Tekapo, under a romantic starry sky. You'd just been to see Shag Rock (or at least the collapsed rubble that was Shag Rock), and drank a can of Bundaberg Root beer, and well one thing lead to another.

I've no doubt whatsoever that Zzippy jnr will declare for NZ in a few years. None whatsoever.

As his agent, if the price is right he can declare for whoever he wants to! :D

As for Lake Tekapo, it was bloody raining and grey when we were there. Abel Tasman might have had more to do with it... ;)

I am potentially completely wrong but isn't it considered a little irresponsible? I mean there is nothing on standby if a complication occurs.

Bravery award goes to Zzippy: Abel Tasman + scarcity of raiment = death by a thousand sandfly bites
