In most places in the USA, now that there is near-instant response to the 4473, you STILL need two important pieces of documentation before you can walk away with a gun.........

If you've never heard of a Prince Rupert's Drop, it's something they first documented when glassblowing somewhere in the 17th century (but it's probably much older) and it happens when you drop a small amount of molten glass into cold water and it sets in this tadpole-like shape. Snap the tail of it, even a tiny chip, and the whole thing explodes; but you can wail on the head of it with a sledgehammer all day and it won't break.


So someone thought they'd shoot it while filming with a very high-speed camera



And when a .22lr didn't work...



And when the (jacketed) .22 magnum didn't work and the .38 special didn't work...



And okay, the .223 round did beat it, but at least one of the 7.62x39 rounds didn't (because it didn't hit it head-on). So this little piece of glass shattered a full-blown 7.62 round when it wasn't a direct hit.

Okay, I'll grant you it's not target shooting, but I thought it was a fun thing to watch over a saturday morning cup of tea
