Strong looking team named to play Clare. O'Callaghan, Gough, O'Connell and Treacy back from Cuala. Half fancy their chances now!

I hope lessons were learned and someone is told to get close to Collins.

cant believe the odds the bookies are quoting on this one , 4/9 for clare is baffling especially with all the cuala lads back , it will be a very close game

Great win in Clones, but McCaffrey looked in bad shape after his goal, holding his hamstring. Hope it's just a minor niggle.

As much as this Dublin team will go down as the greatest of all time for their swashbuckling style of football.... their resolve and never say die attitude is incredible.

    Dublin - Kerry final.

The 2 teams the nation wants to see in every final, and its on!

With only one interested in playing football. There a glutton for punishment in Kerry.

    What a team this is

    That was outstanding.

Bet Fitzmaurice is only ragin' at having to play us again so soon. :D

    That was outstanding.

Another game where the ref had too much of an influence on. Inconsistencies that hurt both teams. His black card for Darren Hughes when a Dublin player got away with the same thing a few minutes earlier left the weakness in the Monaghan defence as the game went on and Dublin exploited it.
On another day with our full defence, Dublin wouldn't have pulled back 6 points.
But happy enough with Monaghan heading into the championship. No fear of any team after that.

Regret now not driving up to that game..enjoyable to watch and Monaghan tested us. Hope McCaffrey isn't screwed with a hammer injury by the looks of it. Few easy scores missed from both sides. We were 6/1 on b365 before we scored first goal and i didn't back it :o

LOL...Straight out of the "If me Auntie had balls..." drawer.

We've clawed back from big deficits, from much better defences than yours laddie. It took us only 12 minutes to reel in Kerrys 5 pt lead in last years All Ireland semi final. Get back to me about how great your defence is, when they've brought you all the way to an actual All Ireland semi final ok? :D

Settle the head. I was at the match and I don't think they would have today had ours stayed intact.
You had to throw everything at it and got away with it. Well done but you should be feeling a tad lucky after that. No skin off my nose if you want to be arrogant about it.

I'd have to agree, Dublin got out of jail big time, very disjointed display for most of the game. Impressed with Monaghan

Special mention for Mickey Fitz again, kept McManus quiet and thats a hard thing to do.

Arrogant? Ahem. I'm not the one making grandiose predictions about my county.

By their own standards, our forwards were largely piss poor today. But they still got the job done. Saying that Monaghans defence is good enough to hold them back, when they haven't been able to hold back the forwards of other counties, is being a tad unrealistic. It will remain so, until they start getting the job done consistantly, against the top teams.

Will they do you do it you think? Wind playing any part? Probably need a goal.

As for the footballers, what can you say?

They played as badly as I've ever seen them since 2014 and were kicking some ridiculous wides and still overturned a six point deficit in second gear.

Now for another hammering of the Princes of the Pigskin :)

Ah, that was the most entertaining game I've seen all year, and Monaghan ran us pretty close by playing good football, not just this pure defence stuff that even Kerry are doing these days, so Monaghan get a lot of credit from me.

Thought that we deserved the win, but to slag off Monaghan supporters for thinking good of their team isn't really fair, at least in my opinion.

Clare have started 2nd half well. Hopefully we stand our ground.
