So therefore I'll have my unlimited data on 3pay for my trip to the UK next month? (As opposed to 2gb)

    Yay

Got a text from 3 saying my bill pay account will cease on 02/04/2017 and i will no longer have access to any Three service. Will i still be able to port my number after my account ceased? Because I ordered the Huawei P10 from Vodafone and it will be delivered on 04/04/2017.

Assume you will just be moved to three PAYG service

If you have an outstanding bill 3 will come looking for it, and if not they will pass it onto a debt collector. Worth the hassle?

Your service will cease until you get a new 3 pay as you go sim or port to another network. You may or may not be able to port your number after your account ceases - a few of us on this thread were told conflicting information.

I originally wasn't going to be able to switch until a few days after my contract ceases and was told this wouldn't be a problem but I changed things around to make sure I changed to prepay before it runs out - wasn't worth the risk of losing my number to me.

Cancelled about 18 months into my two year contract.

Agreed to go to a rolling 30 day contract, as didn't really fancy the hassle of new SIMs etc. Asked a few times if I needed to do anything, as I don't like phone line being down generally with work.

Got a text yesterday: line to be disconnected. Rang them: nothing to worry about. Sure enough, today, disconnected.

I'm off to Vodafone. Way to go Three, from €60 revenue to €30 revenue to €0 revenue a month.

Are you managing to keep your number?

Currently on the Customer Service merry-go-round trying to port my old number to my new prepay sim card. Disaster of a morning.

Unless you have a pre pay sim and port your number to it your service will be disconnected.
That's going to cause a problem when you try and port as I think the other networks need to call or text your existing number if your tryin to port.

Apparently. Will report back. I have my number published on thousands of things, so will be a complete nightmare if not.

I was told to go to a shop or have to wait 3 days for new one in the post. Can't afford to be even one day without my number/coverage so I'm about 5 mins away.

That's my fear. My contract ends on the 9th, have been told I can port out without penalty from the 7th. Not sure what happens if I wait until after the 9th and get disconnected.

Was told I would be disconnected on Monday, can't use phone today, so won't be able to port. Wanted to go to PAYG, last time it fell back to PAYG automatically.

Apparently I am. But given everything else so far hasn't come to pass, I'm not holding my breath.

34 mins on hold for customer care to port number. Only person who answered tried to get me to do it online - not a hope I'm doing that. Then she said she'd have to transfer me. Then "due to a technical issue, this department cannot answer", back to start menu again.

Why is everyone leaving it to the last second to change provider? I can't remember the dates but I rang on a Sunday morning to cancel my contract and told them i was dropping back to 30 day SIM only. I unlocked the phone the following Thursday and went on to the Vodafone site and booked the following Thursday to move to them as a payg Customer. The SIM arrived on Wednesday and at 10am on Thursday the phone was up and running with VF. I got a final paper bill from Three for 8 odd euro, job done.

In my case, 3 owe me €25, and if I port out early they have said they won't give it to me. There's also the other thing that you've paid for a month, and by switching to someone else, you're paying two providers for one month.

Get the lads on the 3 forum on here to do it, or on Twitter, much easier and quicker.

Yeah the twitter referred me to the phone line/store. Store said they never heard from them even though they said they got in touch.

I'm not even leaving Three. They just made a complete bags of switching packages today.

It's done now, nearly 12 hours later.

Don't panic that shouldn't turn up on your bill, three know that just before you port there is a period when your no longer a three customer but still on their network, you have no AYCED allowance during that period so you get the you have spent msgs. When they send the final bills out they knock the charge off. Its been reported a few times in the talk to three forum.

Sure, but you'll have to clear your debts.

I would question that though.. They still broke contract and you kind of have too depends how much you owe them because they are known for cutting off accounts with so much owed so it must not be that much.. If they say you can cancel go for it they might persuade you to stay, clear the debt and give you a good deal because its happened to a few people i know.. Worth a shot
