Hi lads, is this in stock anywhere?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

I think one of the lads was saying they're in stock on a few Argos stores in Dublin.

So my speaker is crackling and I want to get a replacement. Should I wait to finish Zelda or can I transfer my save over?

    Same question with eShop purchases.

You'll get it monday they don't deliver over the weekend.

They deliver on Saturdays. I emailed them about it and their response was it's a busy time of year. It seems every month is a busy time of year for them now. €7.50 including increasing the standard liability insurance to cover losses of up to €500. Not good enough. I'll be using parcel wizard from now on.

Hi lads, is this in stock anywhere?

I think Smyths Jervis got some in this morning?

I was in there today and a little girl asked the guy who works there if they were in stock, and when he said yes, she was jumping up and down with excitement and running to let her father know. THIS is the kind of excitement that you only get with Nintendo. :)

Outside of Dublin there's plenty of different stores with stock.

GameStop: Nintendo Switch is ‘Strongest Console Launch in Years’

“Stores across the country last night were packed with customers who couldn’t wait to get their hands on the brand new Nintendo Switch.  We even had customers lining up as early as yesterday morning so that they could be one of the lucky ones to score one of the additional units for our walk-in customers. This is one of the strongest and most successful gaming console launches for GameStop in the last several years. For those fans who are still looking for the Nintendo Switch, don’t worry–we’re getting more. And, we’re pretty sure that there are a lot of gaming fans who pulled all-nighters last night playing their new Switch, and who also called in sick to work today with ‘game-fluenza’ just to stay home and play even more.”

Sounds like spin to me. Of course they're likely talking about America but here in Ireland it certainly hasn't sold out. Nor the UK. I'd rather it be easy to get than another NES Classic Mini situation.

Hi, yeah, even with the surround option turned on, it gives you a test and it only gives me 2 channels. Same behaviour reported by others on various different systems. :(

    Ah now Sligeach,
You can't have it every way.
You post multiple bad news stories on the Switch from any and all sites, and react when people question the veracity of those stories origins, but this positive one is just "spin"?

No dead pixels on my device btw, and I suffered for years with a white glow on one side of my launch PSP, a console with flaws that had to wait for a major hardware revision before having them ironed out.

It was just as impressive to see similarly delighted grown ups getting their Switch consoles early Switchmas morning.

I could just attach the JoyCons when the power is turned off, sure, but then I'd miss that glorious little sound effect.

I post positive, negative, indifferent, reviews, news, impressions, etc. I see it as spin. I haven't said anything bad. I have a few thoughts on the Switch that I might share but that'll be in the "Am I the only gamer on the planet not interested in the switch?" thread. I've no interest in spoiling anyone's enjoyment from it. The Switch certainly hasn't sold out(it has in some countries). I see very little buzz. Still haven't seen a single ad on TV. None of my friends are talking about it at all. Same with the Wii U before it.

"This is one of the strongest and most successful gaming console launches for GameStop in the last several years."

How many consoles have launched in the last few years? And it's got a small production run number at a bad time of year to launch.

Edit: And 1 last thing. Gamestop say this about all console launches. I'm more interested in its sale numbers by Christmas next year, the 3rd party support it has and how Nintendo have fleshed out its minimalist beginning.

I don't know what channels youre watching but I've seen it advertised on umpteen channels..I think it's probably the most I've seen a console advertised in a while

Where? Nickelodeon, Disney? Haven't seen any on terrestrial or the UK channels. Said a few days ago that Horizon is everywhere and on all the time. Nintendo have always been bad at advertising(they're stingy), it was something I wanted and hoped to see them change.

I've seen Switch ads on Sky 1 HD several times.

Worked perfectly first time on my friends surround system. I know that's no help to you but it's worth checking what your surround system supports and what the switch outputs.

Who watches terrestrial TV anymore? They've targeted Zelda at watchers of FX and Sky Atlantic, with 1 2 Switch showing on the kids channels (Disney XD and the like). Its a premium product for premium people!

I want to see BotW happy meal toys. Adult portion ones, a Hot Pepper Angus burger, the Fries-force of Courage and wash it down with some Hylian hop juice. The toy could be a Fi shaped breathalyzer. 'Master, Your blood alcohol is getting low' dear god, you're right! Quick, help me quaff this flagon of Hylian hop juice!

I do, all the time. Not every Irish person has a Sky package or the like(I do by the way). Are Nintendo relying on Irish people watching UK TV?
