Just been playing the puyo puyo Tetris demo from the Japanese marketplace withthe missus for well over an hour, I'm tempted to just buy it and be damned with the English version.

You won't regret purchasing it. I bought the Japanese PS4 version and I don't even need to know what's happening, other than its a great game. Price is a pain in the keester though.

No profit on those probably stolen (I didn't do it nobody saw me do it you can't prove anything!)

No doubt about it, you only need to look to Cex Drogheda to see that they somehow get top PS4 games on launch day (4+ copies, no less).

I've seen my local Cex buy boxes of new release blu ray movies, still shrink wrapped. So I'll bet that those Zelda's aren't on the up and up either.

€70 for it is scandalous. Bastardos offered €15 for the Twilight Princess limited edition yesterday, no way hosè

    Kimishima on Switch’s price, VR

Earlier today, Asahi Shimbun published a brief interview with Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima about Switch. There were a few interesting excerpts about the system’s price and plans for VR.

Regarding price, Asahi Shimbun brought up how some people feel that Switch is expensive when compared to other gaming systems. However, Kimishima was quick to point out that the features are different, so you can not simply compare them. He thinks those opinions are not necessarily the majority. Nintendo is putting in effort to reduce costs, so the company may be able to consider a price drop in the future.

Next, Kimishima reiterated that Nintendo is strongly interested and studying VR. The problem is, they must develop software that matches up well with the technology while players also need to be able to play long sessions. Nintendo has to solve these uncertainties somehow. If a solution is found, they’ll move forward with VR.

Asahi Shimbun explicitly asked if this means Nintendo will be doing VR with Switch. To that, Kimishima said that VR might be replaced with other things, so it might be difficult if it’s that far in the future. What Kimishima seems to be saying here is that the VR fever might calm down and other technology could steal its thunder, so if the momentum is lost, it might be meaningless for Nintendo to approach it – therefore VR would need to be done this generation with Switch.

Those were the main highlights of the interview. Kimishima also said that people will be able to buy a Switch if they wait a week, though that’s mainly for Japan. Also, the software release schedule will not be delayed.

Did you see on their Twitter that they offered some guy 300 pounds for his Switch, and claimed that a group of experts come up with the prices to offer. A belt of scotch for whoever posted those gems. :)

Guy in their Ann street store in Belfast told me those experts are Apu from the simpsons a bunch of enterprising Indians in a call centre in Bombay.

I'm the last person to defend CEX but the Limited Edition Twilight Princess HD has been available for €35 new in several places. And actually Smyths are currently selling it for €20.

Has any one played Fast RMX yet? Deciding between this or Shove Knight.

    Word of warning lads.
I had my headphones in the Jack and I managed to easily pull the switch out of its dock by just sitting up quickly with a slight tugging.
Lucky it did not fall that far but I don't like the design.
It should really click into place IMO
I nearly cried when it was on the ground.

Yeah, enjoying it. Worth the €20 IMO. It's hard!

Fast RMX is great, I'm actually surprised it was only €20. If you like Wipeout and F Zero, it's essential.

Yesterday was Switchmas, does this mean that today was Iwata-san Day?

Was in Head, Liffey valley. They had a couple of switches, Bomberman, Zelda, 1 2 switch behind the counter. I asked about pricing, they're doing a bundle for 480 euros!! Switch, Zelda, "1,2,3, Switch" and an accessory set (case, game case, screen protector I think) but the accessory set hadn't come in yet. All there prices followed a "take average retail price, add 10 quid" strategy. Needless to say, with both Argos and Smyth's within walking distance its unlikely their stock is going anywhere, so if you're desperate and have more money than sense, you know where to go. And it looks like GameStop need to up their game if they're going to hold on to their Most Unreasonable Retailer title in the gaming segment...

    Its Unboxing Day!

Loads of former HMV guys are out there, opportunistic as there is no video game store in the centre now only Argos in the retail park and Smyths up the road so gouging is their game.

What's the story with charging using phone chargers? My switch wouldn't take a charge off my oneplus 3 dash charger and USB c cable...

Pretty sure the voltage is higher than normal on those...

How comfortable are the joycons? One thing putting me off the switch is that the joycons just look uncomfortable to use, especially the one on the right which appears to have the analogue stick down too low to be comfortable. I haven't thouched one yet so I'm only going by pictures and videos I've seen online.

I suspect you'd want to be careful with USB-C cables considering the hullabaloo that came out when phones such as the Nexus 6P and the like came out and a variety of cheap mass produced third party cables were found to be out of spec and could, albeit improbably, lead to potential issues during charging etc.
Seem to remember either Google or HTC doing an internal investigation into this.
Certain fast chargers may also be a bad idea....best to be cautious considering what's happened in the mobile world recently.

The Anker brand on Amazon is a good one to look at for cables, battery chargers and anything USBC. Very reliable stuff.

Had my first joycon glitch... Link ran off the top of a tower on his own. The task ahead became too much for him I think.

Not a deal breaker but a bit annoying.

I thought the switch had a crap launch line up. Fast RMX and Snipperclips are fantastic, 1 2switch and bomberman are great party games and while Zelda isn't exclusive it's one of the best launch games ever.

No problems with them after initial worries they are too small. They are comfy and have had no issues with usability. A pro controller really is just an optional luxury.

You know the way you could turn on the WiiU using the gamepad?

Can you do that with the joycon yokes?

This might sound odd, but actually turning the machine on is giving me problems. It turns on, but usually takes a little bit more effort than I'm used to.?
