Dunno how people weren't killed in the crush after Barney Rock's goal in the '83 Cork semi. It is my earliest Croke Park memory. I remember being pretty effing terrified, despite the euphoria. I think the big brother got an even bigger fright, as he was the one who swore blind to the mammy that nothing would happen to me.

The official attendance for that match was 49,773!

Where in the name of Jebus were they going to put another 25,000! Placed was jammed.

Dubs and Kerry an official sell out a month in advance of the game - there's the possibility the capacity will be extended to 12K subject to a H&S review. Following on from last years sellout in Croker in the league and AISF this rivalry is arguably the top occasion in Irish sport

How does this work with season ticket holders?
If only half the season ticket holders show the place will be half empty, yet sold out.

The first semifinal, or the replay down in the Peoples Republic?

First game. Look at it on utube. It was full house or close enough. Hill was dangerously full.

I see Trolier is back tonight for hurlers but still very weak looking side. Cork are not great but be doing well to avoid another tanking.

49,000 doesn't seem like a lot for an AI semifinal between Dublin and Cork, does it?

This is a fairly ominous start by Cork.

    Brutal shooting by Dublin again

Dubs need a bit of composure. They've had some excellent interceptions but are shooting way too early when taking a couple of steps would offer better chances.

Deserved that goal. Playing very well.

Too much flickin' & tippin' ???

Someone translate that for me? :o

Some poor wides from both sides. The Dubs are the better side here.

What in the hell are Cork doing from their puck outs? Dreadful stuff.

Dublin hurling in a nutshell , one week terrible the next week great , it used to drive Anthony daly mad , dublin should be further ahead

Maybe Cunningham should sell his players down the river more often.

Didn't see this coming from the dubs. Not sure how bad Cork are though.

    Edit:goal for the rebels

Ref under a lot of pressure to give frees. Crowd complaining about everything.

Brilliant point to finish the half.

Harsh red for Crummy. Dont deserve to be down to 14.

Nonsense yellow. What is it about Crummey and this ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,820 ✭✭✭corny

Only caught the last 15 mins.

Were we that good all game or were Cork that bad? Or a bit of both?

Good confidence boost after last week. Great stuff. *I always knew Cunningham would turn things around.

    *lol

Took off midway first half. Always seemed to have the extra gear, although Cork back line were terrible and Horgan couldn't hit a barn door from 60 yards.
