In the words of the great Jim Gavin they're sticking to the process, but Jeez it's getting painful to watch now.

Dublins main (perhaps only!) weakness rearing its head again there, Cluxton competing for a long ball.

Was just about to say that Jim Gavin doesn't look a happy camper on the sideline....but then I remembered that Jim Gavin, never looks a happy camper on the sideline, even when his lads are marching up the steps of the Hogan Stand to collect silverware....so I'll just shurrup so.

Yeh if you were blowing up for that consistently there'd be a free every 20 secs

Worst last two minutes of refereeing I have ever seen.

I know we got a soft free against Tyrone to level the game but jesus lads. Pathetic officiating.

Not the worst result in the world. Lots to work on - and to think about - for Jim Gavin. Can't really see us finishing in the top 2 & making another final...not with two draws on the trot. Oh well....

Kerry lost at home to Monaghan today so a draw today isn't the end of the world.

Lots of first team players not starting today. I thought a part from a minute of madness in the first half we dominated the game.

McMahon to O'Gara is definitely a tactic in the league this year and it hasn't really worked yet.

    Fenton's record still in tact.

The referee got tired towards the end and started making mistakes that cost Dublin that game. It's also not the first time that has happened this year (talking about referees in general).

Thought the Dubs got 2 soft frees at the start of second half and yes, the last free was a brutal call alright.

Anybody know what the yellow card was early in the first half? Looked like donegal player had his hand planted in a "Carthy i think" face when he was on the ground.

The Donegal player had McHugh's face buried into the ground and yet when he pulled the man off him he got the yellow card!

Yeah, McHugh had blood dripping down his nose as well. A weird one alright.

McHugh was held down, punched in the face, had blood running from his nose and got a yellow!

No wonder he fkn looked puzzled. That ref should not be let near a fkn cluedo game. Not first time he has done us over either..

Ah Dublin were in second gear until Donegal got those two goals.

I think if Dublin really needed to win that game they would have.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

****ing hell, that's the softest free I've ever seen given.

Only saw the highlights this evening but from the camera angle it looked ridiculously soft. However, i wonder did Whelan actually pull the jersey? Couldn't see that from the angle. Certainly McMahon was furious with him just after the ref gave it.

He did tug the jersey slightly, still extremely harsh but there was a tug of the jersey.

Also McHugh deserved the yellow card,he wouldn't let the Donegal lad off him for some strange reason.

The referee was terrible yesterday and it is not the first time he has made a mess of a game. He appears to make it up as he goes along. Seen him do a few games now and each time he angered players and spectators, and by the way for both sides. There is in my opinion a serious problem with the referees at inter county level. There is no consistency in the application of the rules or at best very little. Some of them are not up to club games.

It is difficult job no doubt, but way too many erratic decisions.

Cuala won easily but had it been close they might have been beaten by a blatent pick up from ground ten feet from umpires who apparently didn't see it.

These guys have absolutely no qualifications to be making decisions like this. Everyone else involved puts in months of work. These characters just turn up on the day and get a few pints!

PS. Myself and a few others were once asked by an umpire in Leinster hurling championship game if we thought a ball had gone wide or been 65! We won by two points. That is not good enough in fairness...

Should have been red carded. Blatant trip and no need for that in the game.

TBH I missed the start of this, but all I saw was McHugh not letting Paddy McGrath up. I assume it was Paddy as he'd made a few good runs into the Dublin box bringing McHugh with him. He was nearly caught out twice, but from his point of view he'd his man beside him.

My overall fear is that we let two soft goals in, one was a very well taken effort but it's not great. I have this lingering feeling that we got away without a number 3 last year.
I thought Fitzsimmons played well, as well as you can when you are fullback for those two goals!
But he met Murphy a couple of times with a shoulder and a good fashioned charge although he didn't flatten anyone he made an impression. Often a fullback running out like that is all you can do with someone like Murphy and it's the fullbacks job to do it. You get away with it too for some reason, it like an ancient right for a fullback to do it and only get a yellow

I think he's a better fullback than Cooper and coopers a better corner back than him.

Actually that reminds me, the free awarded to Murphy charging through the middle against Fitzsimmons I thought was a joke. Murphy ran straight over him, should have been a Dublin free.

Donegal lads has some laugh, couldn't believe their luck.

Ref also looked quite tired near the end of the game.

You can't just run into a guy! Its only barging if you run into a standing player, and even at that the lad you run into should be making an effort to go for the ball, Fitzsimmons just ran into him free in all the way IMO.

On days like yesterday you miss a lad like Ger Brennan IMO. However McCarthy plays well on Murphy too.
