Couldn't agree more with you, think he has a lot to learn, but given a year or two behind a QB like Rivers or Big Ben he could be a quality starter, I'm hoping the chargers get him in second or third round

I'm not in agreement with this. The guy has never played under center, a very high percentage of his throws are to his first read, he tries to hold onto the ball too long and makes too many bad decisions when under pressure and he has times where he becomes innacurate for a period of time in games.

His back foot comes off the ground when he steps into a throw which has to be a major concern. Another thing I noticed was that when he does check down he has a habit of holding the ball in one hand at waist level away from his body.

He is very accurate over short to mid-range but I think he has too many areas of weakness to make it at the next level.

I think people just fall in love with a super project every year Tom savage was a big one. Realistically for all his measurables talk if anyone even suspected he could be a high Calicut starting qb in the next 3 years he would be a 1st round pick and he won't be

I wouldn't rule Mahomes out of the 1st round at this point, alot stranger things have happened than that. At worst he should be an early 2nd pick.

Cowboys have restructured deals with Tyron Smyth and Travis Fredrick freeing up $21 million in cap space for 2017

Deal done to start negotiating long term deal for Zack Martin (around time and fbtrainng camp) and to clear their current over the cap situation

If similar deals can be done with Dez,Sean Lee and Tyrone Crawford (the league their big cap hits) and Romo is traded/released as a June 1 designation saving a further 10m the Cowboys could be in a very healthy cap state for 2017

Obviously this is all a kicking the can down the road but good to see us being so pro active

I really don't want to see JPP in a Cowboys uniform.

I would be very disappointed to see it, even allowing for all the restructuring I'd be hard pressed to see how they would be able to fit what JPP would want under their cap

Rest assured guys it won't happen

It's more likely we resign Demarcus ware and some of our own free agents using that cap space

I feel like the cowboys have been "pasig back" tree cap issues for a decade now

Think this is our last year with witten and the Romo conundrum and that will free up close to $40m in cap space between them so from 2017 were in a lot better cap space

Now obviously we've to pay Zach Martin,Dakota and Zeke over the next couple of years but we'll be more than adequately set for those contracts with the space available.

If true, then the Jets will surely face further sanctions as this is far worse than what was reported at the time.
    http://nesn.com/2017/02/jets-darrelle-revis-tampering-reportedly-was-far-worse-than-initially-reported/
Johnson's words at that December press conference became the face of the tampering that ultimately prompted a $100,000 fine, but back-channel discussions with the Jets in February set the foundation for a Revis reunion.

Team officials in stealth mode communicated with Revis, Inc., through private cell phones and face-to-face covert meetings at the 2015 Scouting Combine rather than make calls from the team's landlines at their Florham Park facility. No paper trails were a must.

Johnson, the driving force behind bringing back Revis to right a wrong in his mind, endorsed all of it.

Jim Harbaugh is always good for an off-season quote.

This is from a discussion on the recent 49ers hirings where Kyle Shanahan had included Harbaugh as part of the tradition of Walsh and Seifert etc. Harbaugh was saying they weren't there long enough to be compared to those guys. But then couldn't resist twisting the knife:
ut I think we did, and correct me if I’m wrong, but we did set a record for coaching there the longest under the present ownership, if I’m not wrong. So, I take pride in that. Maybe there should be an endurance medal, courage medal for that.”

Beastmode. He made the first 42 of them look very easy. Shows why he was a solid blocker as a FB.

Reporter interviews Adrian Peterson, doesn't realize it's NFL player Adrian Peterson:

Guts what you make of this Ian rapaport trade involving
    Cousins to San Fran
    Romo to Washington
    Dallas #2 pick in draft

I'd be all over it as a cowboys fan but don't think there's a chance it happens

I'd say myles Garrett is wishing its true though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,328 ✭✭✭the baby bull elephant

No way Garrett isn't going number 1 especially after today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,906 ✭✭✭Barney92

Yeah, I'd be shocked if the Browns did anything other than pick Garrett. I'd say they have the card filled out already and will only change if someone throws them a boatload of picks or something comes up with Garrett before the draft.

The NFL is on crack, if Glennon gets 15m a year.

If the Giants ever did something like this, I'd want that GM fired instantly.

Madness, especially when you consider he hasn't played a meaningful snap for 2 years!! But teams will never learn. There's always one team willing to shell out too much for the small chance of it working out.

I haven't seen anything from Rapoport on that since he originally floated the idea, but he didn't say it was happening or anything like that.

What do Washington get out of this deal exactly? Romo? Don't see that happening at all. Also Dallas trading Romo in the division, not likely.

49ers giving up the 2nd pick for a guy they can get for free next offseason. I'd be very skeptical of this for all of those reasons.

I can see why it would be attractive to Dallas but not to either of the other 2 teams or to Romo personally.

i agree fully mate, i can't see how it balances that Dallas would get the #2 pick giving up Romo.. i think its an extremely unlikely scenario

49ers might not have a QB by the end of the week and might not fancy anyone to start this year so going with Cousins, who Shanahan has worked with previously. So SF might give up their 1 for that privilege i could understand.

Therefore Washington could have the #2 pick and their own draft pick, maybe the deal works that Skins get Romo and our #28 pick for the #2 pick...

i doubt this ever happens though

Giving up Cousins for less than a block buster deal would be a terrible move in my opinion, not least because that city has craved a franchise QB for so long and now seems to have one after the false dawn that was RGIII, that it would be an incredibly unpopular. He's not in with the best of the best of course, but he puts up really good numbers and is probably around top 10-12 for me. You simply don't give that up in the NFL once you have it, especially since he turns 29 in August and so has 7-10 years left in him.

Well they are obviously not prepared to pay him what it would take to do a deal and bizarrely seem to be happy enough to go with Colt McCoy and let Cousins go.

I don't see any way they keep Cousins longer than 2017. I'm not sure what a fair trade would be given the fairly unique circumstances but it's fair to say Washington have made a royal mess of things. They should have paid him last year when he was looking for €16m per year which isn't crazy given the amount the Cap has increased in recent years.

If the Redskins want him they'll keep him, but they'll need to pay up to do it.

Personally while I like Kirk he has a tendency to disappear in big matches and struggles under pressure in big games.

I would imagine the 49ers will have to give up a good bit more than one pick to land Cousins, not sure about Romo in all of this but I do see Shanahan trying to get Cousins.
