Every time I hear it, it takes me about four lines before I realise I'm not listening to JJ Cale.

That Finbar Furey song has a real bang of 'Bob Dylan - Things have changed', no ?

Anyone know how to get his playlist on Spotify? He mentioned on Fridays radio show that he posts them up for each show but I can't seem to find them when I search. Any ideas? Some good tunes tonight!

What's the best way to listen to this show offline? Can you download a podcast?

Fair play to John. He played a Dublin based Sligo group called The Oddsocks during the week. They also do an accoustic set under the name of Old Hannah. Have a look for them on facebook or youtube. Well worth a listen.

Disclaimer . I know three of them since they were kids. Great musicians.

I just had a look on my radio 1 app and there's no option to podcast the JC show. It might be a copyright/royalties thing like Reeling in the Years. It doesn't come up on the plus 1.

You can definitely listen back ) stream (not 'podcast' / download) on the RTE Radio Player app. Example: I listened to Friday night's show in full yesterday afternoon. Just looked now and all shows back to 25 Jan can be played back.

There is a great video on YouTube of Old Hannah singing "Irish Boys" from a TG4 programme.
Never heard of their Oddsocks incarnation, thanks very much!

I'll check that out. The app I have is just Radio 1. There's no John Creedon option on it.

They haven't played as Oddsocks for a couple of years. They were concentrating on Old Hannah. They're back doing Oddsocks again and recording. It's two electric guitars, bass and drums rather than acoustic stuff with OH.

Excellent! He plugged it again the other night but it seems that no combination of words with RTE, Radio, Music etc would find it for me.
    Thanks!

Love JC. I should listen more often.

Great taste in music without all the pretentiousness of many music jocks.

Late convert here. Great music and a really nice, easy presenting manner. Just made for evening journeys in the car.

Don't get Nova here in Cavan, Today FM blocks everything around the 100 Mhz point of the airwaves.
But will listen to him on playback.
