John just said there had been an increase in listeners to his show according to the latest JNLR's.

Thanks in no small part to this thread  :)

Mickey Bradley (Undertones) on Radio Ulster on a Tuesday from 8-10 gives him a run for his money. Excellent programme.

Do most of my Creedon listening at work on Playback, outstanding show

Blocked on PC though, so I have to use my phone

Definitely going to give this lad Mickey Bradley a listen

Spotify playlists are decent but you can never get quite the same diversity

Any other recommendations for eclectic radio programming similar to Creedon?? Ta

The Frank And Walters...most under-rated Irish band ever?

    Discuss :)

Goosebumps listening to that live version of 'Wild Is The Wind'.

The playlists have plummeted in quality since John went on holiday leave

I think Fiachna's doing a good job...'Sweet Little Mystery' by John Martyn - good call :)

No, I can't stand that song. Cathal played it the other night, but it's obviously a favourite of Fiachna's.

The song, like a lot of songs that rarely got played in the past, seems to be played a lot on radio 1 in the past few years.

In general with over-played songs I think it's most songs are handy to get a hold of for the presenter on a computer playout system (no CD's or Vinyl to forget about and then to search for).

Sweet Little Mystery is a great song, but you are correct about it being overplayed. Been a particular bugbear of mine for ages that Rte seem to only have the two John Martyn records - its either SLM or May You Never every time. They never deviate. May You Never is great too but its even more relentlessly played than SLM. John Martyn has probably 50 other great songs, I wish they'd play one or two of em from time to time.

Fiachna tends to play more guitar 'indie' than John, and not as much Cuban/Doo-Wop.

I doubt Creedo would even think of playing 'Debaser' by The Pixies.

Anyone who plays a McGarrigle (or two) is fine by me :D

Getting a bit sick of Fiachna now though, come back John - it's a whole different vibe when he's in the hot seat!

He has been known to Motorhead, AC/DC, Sex Pistols, Lizzie, PIL and other hard rock.

    John's back next week :)

Come back John, Fiachna nearly chokes with the forced 'guttaralness' of his 'gaeilge ' , john does his bit of gaeilge but doesn't sound like he's being strangled.

This version of Old Town is horrific  Phil Lynott would be spinning in his grave :(

Still, hard to go wrong with Wanda Jackson. Her collaboration with Jack White was great. Video showed just how much fun they had on that track.

First time in ages I've been able to sit and listen to the whole John Creedon show - and what a great one it is tonight!

  • Registered Users Posts: 72,251 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

Great show tonight, I'll even overlook Bob Geldof's 'The Great Song Of Indifference' :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 72,251 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

    'Nowhere' by Therapy?

    :O :D

Anyone know how to get his playlist on Spotify? He mentioned on Fridays radio show that he posts them up for each show but I can't seem to find them when I search. Any ideas? Some good tunes tonight!

Kirsty, Billy Bragg, Carol King and Carly Simon, great lineup tonight!
