So replying to a straight up discussion with "yawn" isn't pathetic? Calling someone who disagrees with you a troll isn't pathetic?

Shove your warning buddy, I'm done with this pathetic "discussion" forum :D

One week ban, can't say you weren't given fair warning.
You're welcome back when you can discuss things rationally without resorting to insults.

    Yawn.

Anyway, seems silly Splatoon 2 testfire is only certain hours of the day.

It's designed to stress test Nintendo's servers by having a concentration of players.

Expect the servers to go down 15 minutes early at least once in the test fires.

    Also
You guys are fearce hard on the guy getting frustrated at his posts being shrugged off as trolling without a proper reply.

Show me examples then. Calling someone who thinks the sole sum of gaming without Nintendo would be cod/Fifa/GTA an idiot is pretty straight up and factual. It's an idiotic statement to make.

    "take off the blinkers"...."fanboy"...."farce"....."shallow minded"...."idiot"

    Just some examples.

    Anyway.

Some interesting quotes from Miyamoto on VR. It seems Nintendo has softened it's stance quite a bit on the technology. Interview with Time.com.

When we spoke in 2014, you said of virtual reality that you had "a little bit of uneasiness with whether or not that's the best way for people to play." Has your view on this changed since then?

"In terms of being together online in virtual reality, I think a lot of the problems have been solved or are starting to be solved. This is something that we're looking into, too. But when I see people play virtual reality, it makes me worry, just as for example if a parent were to see their kid playing virtual reality, it would probably make them worry. Another issue and challenge that I think everybody faces is how to create an experience that's both short enough while also fully fleshed out in virtual reality"

Okay so outside of all various tidbits. Nintendo been quite on OS, eshop, What comes next kinds stuff. I dont think ScissorClips even has a set release date in March. Makes me wonder are Nintendo trying to get all they can done just b4 release and we have a big Nintento Direct to get everyone in a good launch mood... A DIRECT in a week or 2 would be sweet.

Nintendo should really be ramping up the hype at this stage, convincing the undecided gamers to buy a Switch at launch.

IMO I don't think it will have virtual console at launch.

Really makes no sense to not have it announced by now if it was ready to go.

I don't mind if it's announced to launch in a month or two as long as it has all the virtual console games the Wii U has to date.

If they go back to the way they did it with the Wii U and starting from scratch with a few games being released every month it would be really disappointing.

Christmas will be the do or die on the switch, Mario out by then hopefully all the bugs ironed out too, damned if I'm waiting that long though, hook or by crook I'm getting me a switch on switchmas day or else!!!

Was just about to reply to John's "and watch the end of Nintendo in the console scenario." and saw his ban.

Can understand his wait a year and see how its going remark and dont mind debating him but histerical nonsense like that is what riles people.
Switch could flop and nintie could go software only and for me that would be a sad day but its not even out yet and some are writing the message on their headstones

In fairness majority of the available at launch are gone. Its the april through may period that they need to get the hype train going through. All i know is its 2 weeks and all i can say is chooooo chooo

Only seeing the ppot about Rayman Legends now. Made me think they' probably delay it for months while they work on the PS4 and XBone versions.

Found out how much of a bonus I'm getting this year. Tempted now, but still gonna hold off.

And seeing that Bomberman video just reminds me that there's very little that's more enteratining than seeing someone who you know is trapped between a bomb and a hard place/anothrer bomb. Unless it's yourself who's trapped.

I think I'd rather have a compilation of the SNES Bomberman games tbh.
Maybe a light remastering of the visuals into HD, but nothing more.
The 3D playfield reminds me too much of those awful Bomberman games on the DS.

Most of the presentations so far have been set up for the viewer at home watching and haven't been a realistic presentation. They've been trying to show from both the playing perspective and what's actually happening in game. I think the game is cack. I await its reviews but still. I'm tired, maybe tomorrow.

There's no way it can be as **** as I think it looks, all common sense tells me that

    and yet...

Ya, that wasn't a great way to show it off at all, especially not on a messy live stream. I think a lot of games don't look to have much substance and even if there is 4 or 5 somewhat decent ones it still makes a full price purchase quite hollow. I think it would have been better if they had included the rumble/Joy-Con tech within some sort of a substantial game, like the Metroid 360 movement one in Nintendoland, rather than it being a 'guessing' or 'reaction' type games like these, will get old very quickly.

Honestly, I jumped on here to discuss the same. I have it preordered along with Zelda but after looking at the differences between the Wii U and the Switch versions, I am not sure if it's worth buying the console on launch?

Looking at the release schedule for 2017, the only game that massively interests me is Super Mario Oddessy. I loved Splatoon and MK8, but the Switch games are just upgrades or remakes.

So essentially, the console will gather dust once I am finished with Zelda. There will certainly be an Odyssey and console bundle so may wait for that at Christmas.

I also have been negative about this launch but I think as you mentioned there if you have a Wii U it's just lacking but for people who don't, and there are a lot of those, it has a pretty good launch and solid release schedule. Wii U owners are being a bit shafted imo. It's like it didn't happen.

I'll be looking for a Xmas bundle like yourself or maybe get lucky with a Black Friday deal like I did with my Lego city undercover bundle for Wii U.

Are there more Wii U owners than I thought or are ye all just concentrated in this forum? Looking forward to this more and more tbh. As I never had the Wii U I'd be interested in some of its flagship titles being ported over.

It's probably not, really in strict terms of value (does that make sense?) Every console gets cheaper after launch, even the Wii U had some significant price drops and great deals. If you didn't like Zelda, you'd have zero reason for day one purchasing neither.

so potentially the rumour of the web applet could be a work around for those worried about connecting to wifi where you need to login

Did it get significant price drops?

All that does is take away the common ground that the Browserites had with the Purists - it was never about the sign-on pages for me, I actually want a browser for web browsing - but regardless of how you feel about a browser on a console the ability to sign in to free wifi is crucial for on-the-go gaming.

The wording is a little worrying - it suggests that the web applet is available but it needs to be implemented on a per-game basis. I'm sure Ninty's first party stuff will maintain a consistent approach but I shudder to think how half arsed EA might be about it...

Edit : Regarding Price Drops, I got mine for around €200 from Zavvi around March of 2013. There were a couple of big price drops to the sub 200 mark for the 32GB console that year due to how fashionable it became to talk doom and gloom around the Wii U.
