The Cowboys certainly seem to have the quality at QB/RB/OL to be among the best for a few years. But a good (or bad) draft/trade can change things for a number of teams in the NFC.

As a cowboys guy unless we improve our defense at pass rush and secondary we'll not be ruling the east never mind the NFC.

This is a huge draft for us and I trust Will McClay to deliver some of what we need in both area's to bolster and immense offense.

cowboys will run nfc the next few years, imo packers running out of time and wilson found out at last

Maybe it wasn't but this time last year was all the talk about how the Panthers were the team to beat in the NFC for the next few years?

Well said Jack, no team dominates in the NFC its a shark tank yet the AFC have won most of the last 10 SB's. It so hard to get out of the NFC that team are almost exhausted after the season for the Superbowl. Whens the last time an NFC team won back to back conference titles or say 2 in 3 years!!

Seahawks have 3 in 4 years.

Packers have 5 in 6 years.

    T. O will get in eventually, it just seems like the committee want to rub his face in the dirt a bit before he gets in. Seems very petty

On the TO thing...Peter King of MMQB:
T.O. might be very far away from Canton. Marginally, I support Owens and would have voted for him in the cutdown from 10 to five had he made it. He’s second all time in receiving yards, third in receiving touchdowns, eighth in receptions. But he’s first in divisiveness and churlishness, and that seems to be what’s keeping him out. My guess after leaving the meeting Saturday is that it could be a few years before Owens gets in—if he ever does. I sense the American outrage over this. I get it. It’s a story of how much should apply to a players’ case for the Hall of Fame. Should Andy Reid suspending Owens and basically firing him in his prime play into it? Should the hopscotching from team to team because of his behavior play into it? We are asked to consider only what happens on the field—with one proviso. If something factors into how a player plays or whether a player plays, and if something factors into a tangible effect on the team’s performance (such as leadership), we can consider it. In other words, we can extend the on-field stuff to the locker room and practice field if we think that had a bearing on his team and his own play. I come back to the amalgam concept. I just think Owens’ performance was strong enough to overcome the negatives. Finally: Seven all-decade players did not make the Hall on Saturday. The public is myopically focused on one. I get why, but Dawkins and Lynch, for instance, were pretty great at their positions too.

Nerd as a giants guy thought you'd be happy ole Jethro funked things up in big D for as long as he has.

With him and Johnston people need to remember Jimmy was just as much off a meglamaniac and he walked away because he felt he never got the praise he felt he deserved despite Jerry giving him everything he wanted and then some.. there was a pair of them in it.

But free agency also screwed us as we lost several players outside the triplets and appointed a new coach that wasn't as much a disciplinarian as Johnston. And things unraveled.

I believe Jones has done a lot for the league in terms of commercial deals, collective bargaining and that's why he got in.

I'm an eagles fan how very dare you sir :D

Mel Kiper and Todd McShay are geniuses for making a living out of something that is complete waste of time. They spends months assigning players to teams then tweaking them and creating buzz over versions 4 and 5 or whatever and then on the night of the draft, someone makes a trade early on that fecks up everything and makes everything they've said completely wrong.

But as I say, geniuses for convincing their bosses that what they do is worth it.

No chance. "Opening Day" always gets a rating boost. Repeat of the Super Bowl also gets a ratings boost. They will keep those two separate to get two ratings boost. Opening day will be Houston, Carolina or Kansas.

Ah, but isn't it Mike Mayock (if I recall) who's the biggest genius of the lot, managing to predit about 95% of the all of the draft picks... roughly 30 seconds before the pick is announced.

I don't know about there being "no chance" considering a Super Bowl repeat on Opening Day is exactly what happened this year.

Definitely going to be a repeat and its easier for the NFL to pull it off when the two teams that faced each other in the bowl are on each others schedule for the following season. AFC East have the NFC South so the NFL luck out with a Superbowl repeat opening night.
