This is a good indication that we wont have to talk through the nintendo app on your smartphone to voice chat, i hope anyway

There was also compatible headphones advertised for the Switch I thought which also hopefully suggests that using your mobile phone isn't the only option.

Have just found out I'm in Chicago the week this launches.

Not sure whether to keep my Gamestop preorder and get someone to collect for me, or take my chances and try pick one up over there...

Wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac compliant) / Bluetooth 4.1 (TV mode only. A wired LAN connection is possible through the use of a commercially available wired LAN adapter.)

bluetooth only works when docked? whaaa?

I might be mistaken but i think they are talking about a wired LAN connection is docked mode only.

Gamestop on Henry Street though at this point I'm fairly sure I'm going to skip it for a good while. I don't like its price, its weak specs as a console, what I've heard so far about online, expensive accessories and no real compelling game until Super Mario Odyssey. I've Zelda pre ordered for Wii U. First Nintendo home console missed since all the way back from the SNES on. It will be strange.

But what are you going to complain about?!

    What do you really think?

Grey switch is back in stock on Amazon UK.

    £279.99

Don't seem to offer delivery to Ireland though.

Just went in to GameStop in the Parkway in Limerick to check on my online pre order for collection in store and was told I had to pay 50 euro to guarantee I'd get it on day one. I said I hadn't received any email to state this so how would I have known if I hadn't called in. Anyway, he apologised and gave me 10 euro off Lego City Undercover which I was purchasing so got it for 9.99 and paid up the rest of my deposit.

I haven't been following the thread the last week as I have been too busy with a house move so could someone let me know where the best place price wise is to pre order BOTW.

Also how did you get Lego for 9.99 (or 19.99 for that matter), is it the Wii U version??

    Thanks :)

Amazon France at €52 if you don't mind the wait and probably a French cover.

Or Amazon UK for £48. You missed a £10 voucher off offer on a £50 spend they had a week ago or so. It says £48 but that's Prime and usually goes up a bit

Sorry, should have mentioned it was for the Wii U, so 10 euro off the 19.99 marked price.

I mentioned to him about the conflicting reports in regards to the 50 euro deposit and all he knew was they received an email from head office two days after pre orders started, mentioning the 50 euro minimum deposit. There seems to be a fair amount of confusion in GameStop about this.

I asked him why weren't the customers who pre ordered online contacted to let them know they needed an additional 45 euro deposit to be paid.

If I hadn't of called in today and just turned up on March 3rd to collect and pay off the remaining balance on my pre order only to find out that, sorry, you didn't pay the minimum 50 euro deposit so no console today for you even though I would have never been informed unless I called in store prior to this. A bit of a shambles on their part, hence the 10 euro discount on the game I was buying today which was sound of him as it is Gamestops Head Office fault!

    So, who has preorders where?
I'm going to standing in the cold outside Smyth's, Airside in Swords.

Preorder from Amazon UK on day 1 console only

Preorder from Gamestop Patrick Street Cork and Gamestop William Street Limerick as I'm not sure where I will be that day. Both console only.

Preorder Zelda BOTW from Amazon UK

Preorder official Nintendo protective case from Amazon UK

Preorder pair of Orzly Tempered Glass screen protectors from Amazon UK

If going for Limerick, GameStop in the Parkway most likely won't be doing a midnight launch as they require a minimum of a 100 pre orders to open at midnight due to been located in the Shopping Centre and currently they have 6 or 7 if I picked him up correctly but he may have meant 6 or 7 online pre orders.

William Street would probably be the best bet.

Couldn't be arsed with that. Furtherest I'll go is walk over to symths for a cheaper case than Gamestop.

That's what I reckoned. Pre-orders in Limerick are a pain over having to organise the shopping centre to open late, security etc.. So went with William Street. And Patrick Street in Cork. The alternative is Amazon ship it on the 3rd and I get it by the 5th. Again I use 2 parcel motel locations, one in Cork and one in Limerick and I change the pickup point depending on where I will be after the item is dispatched.

But when they started preorders last year the price hadn't been announced which is why they had the placeholder of €499 on the site.(i didnt preorder mine until the 12th of december which is well after the preoders went live) Customer support says even with the €5 deposit you are still guaranteed one at launch.

Either way I did go instore an book another while leaving the online preorder there as my brother is thinking of picking up one too.

You are right though, its confusing as ****

I think I'll have to pick up a case for the thing first thing, otherwise that screen is going to get scratched.
I'll have to have a look about...

They've been doing that pay the order before midnight for ages. They open the door at 10 or so, get people in to pay it, then you go in at midnight and pick the console up.

I wouldn't take too many chances on the whole Gamestop €50 thing. It seems different stores have been telling different things about whether you need to or not. Manager in one near me was adamant that all pre-orders had to be topped up to €50. I didn't get a call or anything either, I read it on here and went in about it.

Here's some side by side comparisons of Switch cases with PSP cases.

I like that the boxes are a non standard size, thinner and wider than a PSP box. Will add to the 'new' feeling of a new console.
