You didn't really get an answer either.

I was talking to them after, everyone that's onto them is looking for a higher quota,so they just couldn't get their head around someone thinking of reducing, .
To get the tenner the ewe or her replacement has to be on the farm the full 12 mths

There's no problem lowering numbers, notify them when it happens, there'll be deaths, barren ewes, and culling and they'll know every sale and death that you do, so there's not a lot of point in chancing it I think

If you want to arrange your annual herd test do you do it through the assigned vet or the department.

I got through and they unlocked it, no problem. I'm certain I only tried it twice.
Come to think of it, I sent in a BVD sample about 2 weeks ago, but only registered the calf today. Took 3 phone calls to get the tag no of the bull from the previous owner. Maybe it locked as a security measure.
Bull turned out to be 5 stars for both terminal and maternal so happy out.

The word is that it's a 30 strong syndicate from Johnson and Johnson in Cork. That'll be a little over 2.5 million each . Great that there'll be 30 families benefitingfrom it as opposed to just 1.

Is it possible to claim back VAT if you get a contractor to clean drains?

If you claim back the vat, I think it's then classed as a capital expense and you have to put it against profits over 7 years,
Whereas if you declare it as maintenance, while you won't get the vat back, your can put it all against this years profits.
Like everything with revenue, there's always a sting in the tail
