With all the fatalities with pedestrians recently it shocking to see the amount of people out walking without proper high vis gear.
Was coming home after doing the jobs half an hour ago and a couple were making their way across the road in a break in traffic. Well lit up area and they were watching what they were doing in fairness but both of them dressed in dark clothes and I was very close to them before I saw them.

It is shocking in fairness, do they even see the danger?? .... And don't get me started on people driving with parking lights on instead of dipped headlights. There's a reason they're called "parking" lights.

Myself and the father were up at the Ballinasloe Horse Fair a good few years ago.
We were looking at the stands and we got talking to this old Travelling woman on one of the stands.
She says "Where are you from?"
    My father says "Wexford".
    "Where abouts?" says she.
    " ............. beside the Blackstairs?"
" Ah you probably wouldn't know it." says my father.
"Is that the place around the corner with the lime kiln at the Gateway?" says she.
    "It is" says my father.
    "How did you know?"
"There's not a road or a boreen in the country that I haven't travelled on." says she.

    That's a true story by the way.:D

Very poor interview by Minister Creed yesterday in relation to grain farmers and crop losses in the west.
Basically, apply for a loan under the new scheme.

You have a negative income last year, borrow the money!!!

Quite simply, they would rather the land to be converted to grass.

More than likely she never was there, just read your mind when you visualised your home place.

I wonder if you sat down to come up with a list of what jobs on a farm are better suited to one of the sexes. For example my mother was an absolute dinger at correcting a poorly presented calf. Her hands and arms were allot smaller than all of ours and even in extremely tight cows she could operate. But then she wouldn't have the power that myself or the auld fella would have when it came time to pull.

We had a cow with calf bed put out here years ago.
Our vet, a lady of short stature did a great job of cleaning and straightening it out.
But then she handed me the gown and gloves and said if the cow was to have any chance I'd have to take the bottle and reach on and stretch the calf be fully back into place as she had no hope of reaching in fully.

She is an awsome vet and I love to see her coming to work for us, where the practice owner a rather tall waspey gentleman I'd rather never see at all.

John apparently knows **** all about history. Mass landownership wasn't a thing in Cromwell's time. It didn't become a thing until after the famine

Ironically linear male inheritance is something we got from the English

Yea the neighbours must be after getting a new dog or else it was a stray.
I don't know what the small one was?

(It's like a chart on evolution, starting with the mouse).;)

I got the nail by catching the finger in a sliding door and it's just growing out now.
    :D

And Leinster get a needed reality check tonight.
Luke McGrathv did everything he could to rule himself out of a no.21 ireland shirt, young guns need another season or 2 to compose themselves and not force things left 4 tries behind.
Carbery and/or byrne need to really shake themselves over the next 8-10 weeks while sextons away as noticable difference when he went off, again their in a game not a training session.
