She had a cream and black jeep thingy, then she got a red and black version?
Can't remember when she changed over!

EDIT. yeah she became brand ambassador in Feb 2016 with the cream car, then picked up the red one in Sept 2016. Was annoying me so had to do a quick check!

Thanks for that! She must not have been showing the red one as much. Any sign of an N plate I wonder!

For the last (honestly) time: you only have to #ad if something is paid for. Do you really think Niamh @ Nima's FRIEND is paying her to talk about her product? Do you think Marissa has been PAID by TRNDBeauty to talk about their site? Or do you think it could just be that they're doing it as a favour – maybe because, in the former case, they're friends and, in the latter case, because TB is giving items for Marissa's Masterclass?

This is such BS – people don't have to put #ad or #sp or #spon if they haven't been paid by a brand. They just don't. And if people start hashtagging stuff they haven't been paid for, we're back to square one where nobody knows if anyone's being honest or disclosing commercial partnerships!

The undertone of the posts in this thread is that people just don't trust the bloggers anymore. Sorry to be crude but you're pissing against the wind defending them as the dishonest ones are ruining it for the honest ones. People clearly do think people are being paid where they are not, because of the track record of non disclosure that is rife in the industry. Have a history of non disclosure and everyone will assume everything is an ad. People assume the opposite with you, because you have a track record of full disclosure.
To be honest, the whole #complaining about no # is getting a bit tiresome.
    Does it really matter?
We know the role of bloggers - sell something, gain support, make money.
They're not showing us these things because they're just good people. Or maybe they are! I don't know.

Honestly there are people who are quibbing about things just for the sake of it at times. And it certainly brings out not-so-nice traits in people.

Let Revenue worry about it! :D

Of course it matters if they are flouting the rules. The advertising standards are there for a good reason.

Other people or industries don't get to pick and choose which rules suits them to comply with. The rules are there to protect consumers, many of which are kids and young adults who may not be savvy to what's going on in the industry. They are entitled to be told if something is an ad as it may not be as obvious to everyone as it is to you.

I have been following this thread since it opened and I was also following the previous 'no names' thread as well, I rarely post on Boards in general but here are some of my opinions I wanted to share with you all.

I follow most of the people mentioned on both threads, James Kava, Joanne Larbey, Erika Fox. Sharon Leavy and Rosemary being my favorites and all for different reasons.

There was a time when I followed every single blogger/youtuber/influencer out there (mostly Irish) and just couldn't get enough of them.

As time went on, I found my favorites and dropped the rest as I had no interest in them, what they were selling or what they were about. Imagine, its that easy.

Why cant you all just do the same? Its so easy. All you have to do is hold down on their name in your snap chat and press 'remove as friend'.

This crazy interest in weather or not bloggers use #ad is getting so blown out of proportion, there are so so many similar situations all over the world and no one bats an eyelid, god if you or I were to comment on all the wrong doings re revenue we would be here a long, long time.

Its been said so many times , unfollow and move on. Some people on here have even admitted to just following some bloggers just to laugh at how pathetic they think they are. Who is the pathetic one there? People who take the time to post here after every single snap from every blogger that dosent have #ad need to look at their own lives and take up a hobby or something. If it *really annoys you, report it and move on.

My friend owns a hair salon and I never pay to get my hair done and ill always plug her, every opportunity I get. Should I #ad these posts on Instagram?

Why is it so so hard for you to understand 'If no money exchanged hands, there is no need for #ad' Its as simple as.

I have been influenced and bought things off the back of seeing the product on snapchat, some have been wonderful and I have re purchased and some have been terrible and I have never purchased again. Am I annoyed at said blogger for recommending? No. If I didn't see if recommended there I would have seen it at some point in a magazine, on Facebook so whats the difference?

I know this is slightly off topic but y'all need to relax and find a new hobby instead of hounding bloggers!

PS. I am not a blogger, I am not related to any bloggers nor do I know any of them personally.

This is just my opinion on this thread!

That skinny tea was mentioned on Snapchat again this morning.
One of the statements made by the blogger was you can lose up to 5lbs in a week.
That's so irresponsible to say something like that just to plug a product.
She's influencing so many young girls with these ridiculous statements.

    Faces by grace again .
Whatever about the healthy benefits she shouldn't make stupid statements like you can lose up to 5lbs knowing there's kids following her.

If the tea actually worked for this blogger an she lost weight and repeaded all the other proposed benefits i wouldnt have such an issue with her promoting it however the fact she hasnt drank it in over a year becuse of pregnancey and breat feeding is what gets me. And i think this is the overall issue peole have with bloggers. If you like a product and the company are willing to pay you to promote it great however its the constant plugging of crap stuff that they havnt as much as tested or used in real life that annoys me.

Exactly if I thought for one minute she was invested in the product I wouldn't mind. Well apart from making the lose 5lb in a week claim.
But she plugs everything and anything and I mean anything.

Miss fit skinny tea shouldn't have someone promoting their product who can't even use it. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of.

It baffles me how a company would use a social influencer to promote their products to potential customers who doesn't even use the product.
You have to laugh at the stupidity
    Of the owner doing that.

One question I'd love to ask these companies is why they use people like grace who promotes anything for money if it was me I'd want someone more credible who believes in my product.

If you have someone who's promoting a million and one different things surely that shows your product means nothing to them.
People can see through these bloggers.

Absolutely. I'm not for one minute suggesting that it's okay to flounce or break any rules.

However, I think the issue is that the rules are a bit unclear when it comes to bloggers etc. Perhaps the ASAI need to define clearly what is allowed and not allowed and then the rules can be adhered to strictly.

As with anything, if rules are open to interpretation or not clearly defined, then this can create problems.

Glancing at a thread is certainly different to hopping on here to post anytime someone doesn't use a #!

I only ever get to watch the Snapchat stories at night when I'm in bed! But this thread can be as entertaining so I usually have a quick read here too! ;)

You have been following these threads from the start but you feel the need to post and tell the people who ARE posting on them, to get a new hobby and leave bloggers alone?! Maybe you should listen to your own advice and unfollow these threads if you have nothing to say about the topic. Bizarre!

What do you find bizarre about it? I follow loads of thread on Boards, isn't that what its here for as well as posting.

As already pointed out, there is a big difference between following a thread and posting/bitching/calling out bloggers EVERY SINGLE TIME they snap, people post in here with an issue on literally everything these bloggers do and there is no need. That was my point. Sorry if it was not clear.

No. People post here in relation to non disclosure of ads and sponsorship (except for me sometimes :D) Look, the thread exists, get over it.

Yes, you do sound like a blogger.

Why do you continue to follow this thread if it bothers you so much?

Why wouldn't you pay to get your hair done at your friend's salon??? It's not free to provide the service to you just because you're a friend, it is costing him/her money. We all know being a small business in Ireland isn't easy, are you sure they are not just doing it because you expect it and they feel obliged as your friend. You should ask yourself why you don't expect to pay and if you're are taking advantage of that person's generosity.

Unless you have a reasonable following on IG (such as a blogger ;)) I doubt your plugging it there is bringing in much business in return.

I am not a blogger. I wish I was so I could avail of all these freebies ye are all so up in a heap about! This thread does not bother me in the slightest. Where did I say it did? I enjoy it actually. I just wanted to post and give my opinion, after all, this is a public forum.

Again, I never said it was free for my friend to provide such a service to me, Im very aware it is not free for her. I was merely using that as an example.

Exactly... There are threads on boards for people to post comments on. This thread happens to be about bloggers mentioning products and promoting products which is what people are discussing, yet you seem to think they should unfollow these bloggers and get a hobby instead of outing the ones who don't follow /obey the rules and regulations of advertising. That's what I find bizarre!

To be honest Anna, im not.

I was never really into blogs and never ever read them before bloggers and snap chat took off. All the bloggers/influencers I now follow were all recommendations from here, friends, facebook ect and since following them on snap chat have now become aware of their blogs (those who have blogs) and I just always assumed advertising was part of what bloggers do so everything they show their audience is a freebie or they are paid to promote it.

I can understand fully how it can annoy people and that is ok too. Everyone is entitled to have an opinion but what kills me is the constant down on top of bloggers and this mentality people have that they deserve everything that is said to them/about them just because they 'put themselves out there' They have been criticized for far far more in the thread and the last than not disclosing an #ad.

Also, Im not asking for this thread to disappear and there is no need for me to 'get over it' as you have now mentioned twice to me. Im just sharing my thoughts on this thread just like you do.

People are "up in a heap" about no disclosure if paid advertising, not freebies.

Using her for free services is pretty selfish, at least the bloggers can claim to be giving something in return.

I totally get RoseMary//Onthemitch 's point that if they blogger isn't paid they don't have to use #ad. However, I think the point is most of us would prefer if #freebie, bloggermail or something similar was used. Rosemary and The Beautiful Truth tends to do this or say it was sent to her. I like /follow both of them for this reason. I don't begrudge them at all for it, I'm actually glad they get it as it means I get some insight /ideas too but IMO it has to be declared it was sent. It's sent for a reason, they've already built up a following. Sure if it was a case of just Snapping we'd all get #bloggermail!
I know Rosemary said it didn't bother her when others didn't use #ad like she did as she's staying in her own lane but it would really annoy me. And it annoys me they don't as a follower.

Tldr - most people would at least prefer if #freebie #bloggermail was included when not a paid ad!

Yes, I do honestly also agree with this. My answer to this is to unfollow that person and forget about them. Or, if I felt strong enough about it, report them and then unfollow and move on.

Don't come on Boards commenting on every single thing they do, bitching about them ect because I don't think that is very fair and its not nice. (Im not saying for a second your doing this, just in general that is what I see on this thread)

But the thing is, most of them do follow the rules and regulations but the issue here is the people commenting on this thread do not think the rules and regulations are transparent enough so therefor all bloggers are sneaky!

If you think about it, the more people that unfollow bloggers they think are breaking the rules or are not transparent enough are the ones who will start to lose money/PR drops ect and then they might change the rules so everyone knows exactly who earning what and we will all be happy!

I don't really use SC, I follow bloggers on YT, and a lot of them do disclose what is sent to them which is so refreshing.

I hate it when influencers pretend they've purchased something rather then admit it was sent for promotion, I just can't stand the dishonesty. You usually only figure it out when you see everyone received that Charlotte Tilbury / Sweaty Betty package!!

People are "up in a heap" about no disclosure if paid advertising, not freebies.

Using her for free services is pretty selfish, at least the bloggers can claim to be giving something in return.

But why tho? Every single product you have/own/wear ect have all been advertised, sometimes you were advised it was an ad, sometimes you weren't.

Ill be sure to pass on your concerns to my friend.

I said get over it once, and you should. Grand you're not bothered about them not disclosing ads, but some people here are, and that's what the thread is used for. Just because you don't agree with that doesn't make it wrong.

But Anna, I never said it was wrong. I am just expressing my thoughts on the matter the same as you.

So are you not bothered when something that is clearly an ad is not marked as an ad by a blogger?

This thread isn't about whether bloggers should be critised or not, it's off topic, start your own thread to moan about people moaning about people please, a lot of people here want to keep this thread on the orginal topic.

I apologise if you feel I have gone off topic, I do not think I have tho. The thread is re non disclosed #ads. My thoughts on the topic are report and un follow instead of hounding their every move and bitching about them.
