Pretty sure the security arrangements are better in Washington where they have needed them for the past while...

Of course now his property has a nice new amenity to offer

Everyone has accepted that. What thread are you reading?

Do you remember as a kid prank calling your local pizza place/chipper/whatever over and over and over again until they copped it and just stopped responding?

    Well...

Their have been many breaches in security when Obama was in office. As for Washington having a high police presence. That is not going to stop a committed protestor from launching some daring attack on the President. One can never be 100% safe of course not however in this case their is no trouble Trump staying in his Tower and handling his business until the swearing in takes place. He will be in Washington very soon and for the rest of his presidency. Staying in his private Tower is not a inconvenience to the secret service. They get paid to look after the President wherever he is.

You know currencies are relative right? If all the others fall that means you have risen. Seriously it means he either improved the dollar or avoided the various issues that damaged the others.

I think it is adorable that people spent years telling the left to grow a thicker skin and then to say that the left wing media insulting Trump voters is why he won. In fairness I can't remember if you did it but many people seem to have put the blame on people being insulted and saying well they only have the left wing media to blame (which seems to me like an admission that Trump and the right is terrible but I digress). It doesn't show thick skin and the person with the thirst skin is the man all these people cheered for to be president.

Not half as cute as you lot being so desperate to be such offended snowflakes despite all sh*teing about 'free speech', 'down with PC Madness', 'just tell it like it is' and on and on and on, all while just as eagerly painting yourselves as the victims at every possible turn.
Yeah, those two hour contracts being classified as "jobs", great altogether :pac:
Wrong. There are 8.5 million more full time jobs in the US today than there was the month Obama took office, and 13.5mn more than the end of his first year when the whole situation he inherited from BushCo had just about bottomed out.
Not necessarily a good thing when the tab is called.
Yet if it wasn't high, that would be used as one of the main sticks to beat Obama over the head with.

Plenty of your lot seem so fond of Putin that Russia is fully relevant.

And yes, obviously, they are weaker... against the dollar. Do you know how currencies work :) ? Because the US dollar is the strongest it has been in over 13 years - since about a fortnight after the Iraq invasion, actually.
That's like Usain Bolt winning a race because the man on crutches he took on, with the broken right leg, broke his right one halfway through.
Well then, since you consider the USD as Obama has left it 'the Usain Bolt' of currencies, then thank you for backing up my point but I'm not sure why you needed to sound so argumentative in doing so. :)

Why is Ivanka at meetings with the Japanese Prime Minister while at the same time hawking her goods into Japan? The conflicts of interest are astounding. The presidency is basically a get (even more) rich scheme for the Trump family.

I think you missed their point completely...Clinton doesn't have a business which is very directly tied into what decisions they make in office...Trump does.

If you personally represent two things, with conflicting goals, it's possible you will use your power with one of those things to influence the other. It's exactly why all previous Presidents have passed their previous professional assets and roles into a blind trust, something which hasn't been done now.

Someone like Ivanka could well find herself in a position where she has to make a decision/offer advice that does a disservice to either her country, or her corporation - both of which she has a duty to have the best interests in mind for.

Clearly Trumps business interests needs to completely separated from office.

Serious question, are you suggesting Hillary Clinton isn't owned by Wall St. and the big banks? I mean there's emails leaked showing George Soros telling Hillary what to do in places like Albania while she was secretary of state, never mind the foundation corruption.

If you're not suggesting that, nevermind!

Talking about Trump's conflicts is fair enough but implying that Clinton wouldn't have had any isn't. This stuff isn't in conspiracy land anymore and anyone can look at the proof if they're bothered looking.

To say Clinton didn't have conflicts is just a complicated way of saying you have no idea what you're talking about.

    Recount update.

Michigan appeals court rules Jill Stein had no grounds to ask for a recount. Which she didn't of course. She finished 4th.

    Wisconsin. Trump grows his lead.

Hahaha seriously? If only Clinton had a slush fund that takes millions in donations from heads of state and corporations at critical junctures in their negotiations with the U.S. state department. Instead she has the Clinton Foundation.

    Oh wait....

Plenty of word. More CT: try this one (there's lots more, this link might help you):https://lmgtfy.com/?q=clinton+foundation+haiti

Try the WaPo link there, or the ones from politifact or slate.

While you're at it, any proof to your contention about the 'grabbing' comment and how all New Yorker's say this? I don't and I'm NYC born and raised. Likewise most of my male relatives and my wife's as well.

I wouldn't entertain them. They refuse to talk about Trump in an even slightly critical way in a post that doesn't say Clinton is worse. I have to keep checking that the thread is meant to be about Trump.

Except it quite obviously is a huge inconvenience to other people living on and working on the main spine of middle Manhattan as they've been saying for weeks now. And I don't know if it's changed, but he was talking about staying in his tower for weekends/when he can, which means the poor sods have four years of traffic chaos hitting the main arterial traffic flow randomly.

It's like they haven't twigged that Clinton lost yet. Question, you folks that keep coming in to interrupt the conversation with demanding to know why people don't "get over it" - why do you keep trying to shut down the conversation? Is it because you don't like the topic? There's a few of you basically leaping up and down and shouting not to look at the man behind the curtain. Why on earth do you think that's going to work when we watched the guy behind the curtain get elected and then start adding lots more curtains to hide under while the flying monkeys are invited in to run the show?

So it turns out Trump's lying Tweets about Boeing yesterday dropped the company's share price $1.2bn. How many manufacturing jobs is that going to lose in their facility at small town, blue collar Everett, WA? It's populations is 103,000 and Boeing employee 30,000 there.

While he is an idiot I doubt it will cost any. The share prices dipped and will recover when people realise he is not going to stop the order going through. He is all hot air. On twitter he can give the impression of saving tax payer money and stopping silly spending without actually doing anything.

Yeah but Clinton would probably have sent all 30, 000 off to fight Russians for Syrian oil and sold their children to paedophile rings to raise money to murder Haitians.
And that's the most important thing.

The fact is they know that Trump is an indefensible fraud so they continue to spread lies about a person who has no further relevance just to distract people trying speak freely about what a clown he is.

In this case, it won't cost anything. But what will be the cumulative long-term effect to the U.S.'s reputation?

Trump doesn't seem to get that he's can't just go on rants on Twitter any more. Everything he tweets is the equivalent of calling a press conference to make a statement. The more outright nonsense he spouts, the more clueless he exposes himself to be, the less seriously him and his administration will be taken by the whole world.

The guy will be sitting at tables discussing serious matters with world leaders and they'll all just be rolling their eyes saying, "Sure, just pipe down there Donald, we know you're full of it". He's like a kid who just learned how to play poker being sat down at a table full of professionals. The other world leaders will play him like a fiddle and turn the US into a complete joke.
