Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The feeling of completing a mission with no alarms raised and never physically entering the area is great.
Really enjoying all the side stuff and the characters too.

Haven't used my gun once. If I get spotted, I let them kill me so I can start again. As above, letting the RC car so the work for me is class and challenging. Just bombing around in fast cars is a great laugh and the soundtrack is banging. I love the hackers \mr. Robot\ anonymous feel to it but more that they can take the piss out of themselves as well. Fair play Ubi with this.

Found the emote wheel, started emoting with an NPC, did a dance for him and he took out his phone and took a selfie of himself with me dancing in the background. Class little random moment.

I did it next to a musician and people started clapping. :D

I started petting a dog on the street and a guy came over saying he wished he had a dog, the NPC interaction is mad.

What upgrades are ye going for? Shooting will get no upgrades from me. I think the driving one will be important when online opens up as escaping in the car using hacks will be very handy.

I fully upgraded the Jumper and Drones mobility, can steal parked cars without setting off the alarms and can send them around the place, (great craic) can hack cranes, cherry pickers etc. increased reload speed/stun gun charge and some extra botnet.

I'll be going for either the last two Jumper/Drone upgrades or the ability to send gangs/police after people.

Had a great moment where an enemy gang had me boxed in but didn't know where I was.
Reinforcements were sitting in a car with a police car behind them.
I hacked the gang car into reverse and started a fight between the two that drew everyones attention allowing me to escape. :pac:

That post was longer than I intended. :o

What upgrades have you/other people gotten?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,925 ✭✭✭Reati

57.99 in arogs, 74.99 in Gamestop

Do people really still pay these mad prices?

Same as you but you have a few more unlocked but will be going the same route. Do you get the chance to buy cars and store them at a HQ? I'd like to buy a fast bike that I have constant access to. Found a Mitsubishi evo last night and was a great laugh to drive.

No when you buy a car/bike it spawns in the garage next to the dealers and is available from the Cars On Demand for free from then on.
On the brightside if you wreck it you can order a new one every 60 seconds, also free.

You can also get paintjobs and apply them to all cars you order.

Only played a bit so far but enjoying it a lot. Already feels like an improvement on the first one which by this stage I'd already given up on.

Only issue is the driving is still awful. Trying to line yourself up correctly takes a lot of moving the stick back and forth slightly as the cars feel so light, but then when braking or turning, the cars feel really heavy.

I've found that it can depend on the car you are driving.
I recently drove a muscle car that looks like a pickup and liked the spread of durability, speed and handling enough that I went and bought my own.
You probably just need to find a vehicle that suits your driving style.

I find the Dedsec knight rider type car class. It's free once you buy the car order app and finish the mission with it (early on)

It's a great car I agree but the high pitched whine of the engine got on my nerves quick.

    Did you try any motorbikes?

Yeah some of the cars (and bikes) sound absolutely horrible. Really bad design choice.

Yeah the motorbikes didn't seem as bad but maybe because I was less conscious about having them lined up to get between traffic than I was with cars. Still fairly wide turning circles though and heavy when braking.

1.05 dropped this evening. Multiplayer working as intended now.

Big improvement on the first one anyway but dear god the characters are beyond irritating, as is the "hackerz" nonsense. Theres some fun to be had with the obvious references to Tom Cruise and Scientology amongst others so its ok but not the massive improvement some had suggested. Not sure how far in I am but I can't see myself doing much more than the side missions and main missions before I go back to BF1 and Skyrim. I'd suggest anyone thinking about it to hold off and see does it go down in price. All its really done for me is make me want to pick up GTA5 again.

I'm really enjoying the main story missions and having a lot of fun with the game in general, big big improvement over the first one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 709 ✭✭✭goon_magee

Finished the main missions last night, and have the majority of the side quests done, just one or two more to clean up. I also think the game was a huge improvement and in all honesty is probably the most fun I've had with and open world game since the Ps2 GTA days. Great setting, fun story and characters (IMO), and great freedom to how you can approach almost every mission.

Really enjoying this so far, massive improvement on the first. It doesn't take itself too seriously and I've genuinely laughed at a couple of moments. Looking forward to getting proper stuck in to it on the weekend.

Was thinking on similar lines last night actually, it really does give off a very similar atmosphere and vibe from the ps2 era GTA games, and in a good way. Or even like the early saints row games.

Anyone waiting on the PC release next week?

Do you have it pre-ordered or waiting for it to be released before buying?

I see that gamersgate have the regular edition (€59.99) and the deluxe edition (€69.99) for pre-order at €46.69
They also have the gold edition (€99.99) going for €69.99, if that's your thing :)

So is the multiplayer actually working for anyone else? Co-op is hit or miss for me and the other two modes worked this morning but since then I've not been able to get a bounty hunt or invasion, even setting myself as a bounty target.

Yeah it's working grand for me on ps4, seamless tonight compared to yesterday where it was taking a few attempts. I did bounties and some invasions just a while ago, great craic.

Love the game, love the story, setting and the characters.

    My only issue is with
Horatio, the guy is not in any side missions and barely in the main missions. The whole time I was playing I keep asking myself when is he going to be killed by Blume or betray DedSec.

And that was even done right, he got jobbed to push the player towards the gangs in the game and away from the main story.

I would be okay with it if it, along with Wrench being caught by the FBI, lead to a break down of DedSec. But no it was all sorted a few missions later and everyone continued like nothing happened.

I had one game of invasion online, hid crouched in a bus stop while my quad copter hovered over his head stealing data. He was just sitting on the ground with his rc car out looking for me. He drove past me twice but never spotted me. Went way too easy. Couldn't find a bounty game, will give it a go again tomorrow.

Standard edition £32.99 (€38.91) and gold edition £49.99(€58.96) on Amazon U.K.

Is the gold edition worth it for that price ?

I think it is considering the season pass is included.

Multiplayer is still completely broken on Xbox at least.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,901 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

I think the season pass is mostly co-op missions, a few single player missions and then packs if clothes and vehicles. I haven't tried any co-op yet. Really enjoying the game but that season pass doesn't appeal to me at all.

    Dublin office from space
    terrible, just terrible :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,901 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Had my first invasion last night. For hacked, took out my copter to see an NPC around the corner running round like an eejit. He went hiding behind a van so I made it reverse. Missed him by an inch and he got away. Would have been beautiful if that worked, at least I stopped the hack, good craic.

I started that but haven't touched it since, done enough paint\tag this\that missions in other games to have a guess it wouldn't be the most exciting.

Have any of ye tried much co-op?

Was a fairly easy 100% nothing missable and none of the usual uibsoft collect and do everything on the map. Though it did take me over an hour to get a photo of someone being sick, seems the drunks in my game were all hardened alcoholics :D

Would people prefer this over Mafia 3? Got this today but wondering should I have got Mafia instead. Or might go back and get it as well

Enjoying this game a lot. Still don't think I've fired any guns, not even the stun gun. Just knock out who I can with traps and melee/avoid the rest.

The city is gorgeous. The controls aren't particularly great but getting used to them. The missions are pretty varied.

Vast improvement over the first one.

Find a nice tuner is muscle car and turn corners with a short press of the handbrake button, after a while you'll be drifting around corners like a pro. The equivalent of the Mitsubishi lancer\evo is brilliant, great speed and easy drifting.
