Do you know the delivery time or are people being hit with customs?

100% chance of being hit by customs if using DHL unless the seller specifies otherwise.Top one shop on Ali Express guarantee no customs using DHL and delivery time is around 5 days

Yes,AFAIK they drop ship to an EU destination first then DHL deliver from there if you read through the Chinese phone thread i linked its confirmed by people there too

You can always chance the free delivery option which might get through but will take up to a month to reach you

Just a quick tip Top One & Goldway don't do the Redmi Note 3 Pro Special Edition (the one that fully works with all networks here & has android 6.0) they only do the standard version which has android 5.1.1 with the eu express/no customs.
4g will work on the standard version but it is missing the 4g band used by Three in rural areas.

Edit: The Standard one may have better custom rom support

Open to correction but I thought the standard version with the global rom has received miui 8 OTA

Had anyone else had problems with wi-fi range on their note 3 pro? I'm not sure if it is to do with a recent update but my phone is now struggling to connect in areas I had no problem before. Any ideas what I could do? Thanks

I am not getting any push notifications from the likes of Sky or RTE news, the push from Flashscore is about 50/50.

No battery saver enabled. Any Ideas ?

    Running stock firmware.

You need to give permission to certain apps in the settings to get notifications

has anyone seen any decent deals on the Redmi Note 3 this week - it seems to have gone up in price since I bought in the summer. Looking for one for Xmas gift

Took delivery of the SE version with band 20 LTE from Gear Best. Present for 14yo for Crimbo.

    https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-redmi-note-3-pro-special-editionl-3gb-32gb

€152 to Gear Best. Nobbled by customs for 23% extra + 7 yoyo handling.

3 weeks in post but tracking number was good.

    Got it for €194 total.

    Did a quick test.

On setup no locale for UK or Ireland so set it to Germany.
Update available and updated to MIUI 8.
No app drawer with MIUI launcher so changed to Google launcher.
Text, phone and 4g all working grand. Ringing sound quite low. Build quality very solid. First impressions good.

    More testing to follow.

Didn't realise there was a second edition with both band 3 and band 20. Wish I knew that few weeks ago when I ordered mine :-)

Dont like the yellowing on the 2nd shot there, you see it a lot on clone headcams/gopros. Might find you get a better WB with a third party app.

Xiaomi have a rocky history with GPS. The first lock of a new device will always be quite slow but after that it should be ok.

If you grab that and walk outside you should be locking to 11-13 sats, if its significantly lower thats a poor sign.

26 in view 12 in use as soon as I stepped out the door. Accuracy to 10 feet. Pretty good really. Only usable near windows indoor.

Just picked 1 of these up from eBay, ..€186 from UK so hoping for a speedy delivery.
Could have got it slightly cheaper from Gearbest or Oppomart but if customs hit me I'd be over €200 so hopefully all goes well.

let us know how you get on re: customs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 443 ✭✭ifeelstupid

Ordered from Top One on Monday, worked out at about €195 incl. DHL shipping. Confident that it will arrive early next week and no customs (have bought 3 of them already from same seller and no issues)

i'm slightly confused about the 4g/lte bands with the different note 3 pro/prime. Will the one you ordered work on all the 3 network 4g bands? thanks :)

To be honest I'm not sure, have you checked willmyphonework.net.
I know when I got my own one, I had already switched to Eir mobile but in my area the 4g coverage was brutal (phone signal was very poor also in spots) so I ended up switching back to Vodafone
