That's always the excuse. Your mistake must be passed off as being the result of someone else's stupidity.

Since when is that always the excuse?

I am laughing now at the beginning of the rollback.

Obamacare = “immediately repeal and replace” before the win, Obamacare = has good parts that he will keep them after the win :)

Hillary = “nasty woman” and “crooked” and he will send her to prison before the win, Hillary = “She’s very strong and very smart.” after the win LOL!

The wall will turn out to be a hypothetical wall next representing the "tougher" stance of the new administration, just watch this space. I'm surprise Trump isn't wearing a compo collar giving the speed of the u-turns being performed already :D

Making a gesture towards a defeated opponent is now a uturn.

    Grasping. At. Straws.

Complementing a defeated opponent is a gesture.

Promising to take on board the suggestions of your predecessor is a gesture.

Once again, it will take time and that's to be expected. Slowly, slowly the church is losing its influence. This has already started happening and will continue. The above example is in the past.

It is just very obvious deflection on your part. You have no idea if the people who talk of religious nutjobs on here are happy with the lack of church and state separation in Ireland. That's a huge assumption on your part. Why not focus on subject at hand instead of engaging in whataboutery?

This is a fantastic video by a comedian who just has a solid rant about why Trump won.. Every single thing he says is right on point and the really interesting part starts a bit into it.

    Wow.
That pretty much sums up how I feel about all this.
    Brilliant

No it isn't and you know it. You sound beyond stupid at this point.

I think he was just gracious. It'd be pretty tactless to call her crooked even in his victory speech.

Because God knows Trump would never be tactless.

No it just proves what a lot of people said. He is a lied to win.

Now watch all the people who believed him rationalise it and eat it up and say "Mmmm tasty can I have some more" LOL

so on the one hand he was extremely tactful in manipulating his supporters with false promises all throughout the campaign, yet at the same time he's not someone you would consider tactful. Please make up your mind and stick to it. At this rate I expect you to be praising Trump any time soon.

It was a pretty nasty campaign altogether. Neither side was very nice during the campaign.

Leftists - Trump won, can you now please get back to regular scheduled programming? I doubt Trump supporters would be harping on and on as much as this.

What on earth are you talking about? You're confusing yourself. He's never been tactful. He's a backpedaling liar and always has been.

Would you not agree that he's softening his image and demeanor somewhat since he's been elected?

    Maybe but he also said.
The Wall Street Journal asked about campaign promises to appoint a special prosecutor to pursue criminal charges against his Democratic rival over her use of a private email server to conduct official business as secretary of state.

It’s not something I’ve given a lot of thought, because I want to solve healthcare, jobs, border control, tax reform,” Trump said. The statement is likely to anger the president-elect’s core supporters, many of whom chanted: “Lock her up, lock her up,” at rallies during the campaign.

    And the Obamacare rollback?

So saying something nice about Clinton is now evidence that he lied throughout the campaign. Hmmm

    And the Obamacare rollback?

Trump promised to unite the country. He has 2 months in which to do that and then 4 years in which to roll-out his policy platform.

The media keep asking him questions about policy because they want to create their flip flop narrative to weaken his support and set the stage for impeachment.

Above all else it would be impolite to promise the sitting president he would listen to his suggestions in private and then publicly ignore them.

Black America needs to see that Trump is not going to destroy the legacy of the first black president.

If he implements his own healthcare plan and let's Obama keep his name on it everyone wins.

The media are questioning about his policies because so many of his election promises were so off the wall, that's why they're asking him about it. Not to create a narrative.

He'll have to rollback on quite a lot of things he said during his campaign. No president wants to start his term with people rioting.

I think everyone knew (well I did anyway) that he was being a politician (ie saying one thing before the vote and acknowledging reality of doing only some of that after the vote).

He trolled the political process because he saw what it was like. For that he is more astute than all his opponents. For all his crassness he had one thing that the others didn't. He was at least vaguely in touch with the mood of the nation.

All of course to get into power. That's what the political system is about.

How he's going to use that power is what's going to be interesting.

I do wonder why he doesn't completely destroy Obamacare and as he's got the Congress and Senate. Maybe because he was never an idealogue in the first place, just a guy who connected with mood of the country to get into power (that's a reasonable definition of an astute politician).

Instead he's talking about unity. Maybe he's not that bad. Who knows.

No they are obviously trying to create a narrative. Trump said after his first ever meeting with the president "I will look at his suggestions (for amending Obamacare) out of respect"

The Independent's headline "Trump just made a massive uturn on his biggest election promise"

That's not reporting that's narrative creating.

Instead he's talking about unity. Maybe he's not that bad. Who knows.

But given the extent of the u-turns from what he said and what some of those who elected him believed he could split off his own supporters with his new "softer" stance. I find it interesting that a couple of days after him being elected that the narrative is changing so much.

I would suggest that there are a lot of voters in the rust belt and places like that feeling like they have been suckered (again!).

To listen to the anti-Trumpers you would think talk of unity was a flip flop.

Trump supporters spent the whole year trying to explain how he's actually a reasonable guy and now that he's proving it there's assumption that we should be pissed off about that fact.
