Well, I've only been awake for a few minutes since that nap, and I am still very much disoriented at the moment. May be a combination of factors, my project-driven work that can go 24/7 until my part is done, new demanding work responsibilities, in addition to a recent sports injury with lots of stitches and meds. Still out of it! Hmmmmmmm, Swannie knows the ultimate solution, and that's refuel with magic bean java!

    Stitches, yikes.
and yes, as always caffeine is the answer :D

Oh, we also had a daylight savings time change wee hours last night, and Swannie's tiny bird brain may be discombobulated!

The spring time change always seems to confuse me more than the fall one. Got through this one with no disturbance at all.

Added to this, my flatmate has been working around the clock for a couple weeks now, looks like a zombie, going to university, then political phone banks, then bed without fun breaks. She and her fellow students are on phones night and day trying to flip Nevada to elect the first female president of the US.

Both of you deserve a few days of very sweet dreams soon so!.
You know the way it's rumoured that cheese gives you nightmares, i wonder if anything is rumoured to give one nice dreams..

The election is Tuesday, and she will be free from that crazy all hours task, and this coming weekend is 3-day, with Veterans Day Friday off for both of us. Sounds like party time! Anything would be better than the disorientation dream I woke up to this afternoon.

Ah good, sleep and socialising in the near future for both of you.
I've discovered from reading here and further reading because of this forum that i dream quite a bit more than most.. Need to research a little more, very interesting

Yes, methinks that awareness fashions behaviour a bit Grem, and conscious thinking about dreams while awake more often, may not only foster more dreams, but also their recall.

I would agree, i have a dream 'series' and often thoughts i would have about possible plot developments come to pass though often in very different ways to what i had surmised..

Ohhhhhhhhh Grem should record her plot developmental dreams and write short short stories or a novel based upon her dreams.

I haven't remembered any of my dreams for the last 3 or more nights. It's so weird.

Maybe by sharing your dreams Hugo, especially nightmares, you could become Eire's next virtual online Edgar Allan Poe?

I don't necessarily have a "cluster" of upsetting dreams but do have two recurring dreams, which usually only happen if I wake up and fall back to sleep after a while.

One of them involves me in my room and it's covered in spider webs and spiders.

The other is a dream about a very colourful slimy spider like creature, creeping towards me or just lurking around me, and as I notice it more and more in the dream it gets bigger and bigger.

Yes, I had one of those recurrent dreams recently, where I woke up remembering it, and resumed it after drifting back to sleep.

Well, I had an unusual one the other night. I was either visiting or starting to work at this military looking place: parts of it looked like offices but other parts were cramped like on a submarine. I remember meeting the commander or whatever briefly and he did not like me one bit. There were no words that I can remember, but I could tell that he didn't like me. Suddenly in the same dream, I was back over in the streets of Krakow. I was with a girl who I presume was my dream girlfriend. Across the street junction (like to the east) was this group of local guys hanging out. My dream girlfriend crossed up to the north to take a photo of a cathedral while I kept walking and crossed the street in the direction of the guys. Suddenly they all ran at me and flicked out knives. They were doing like boxer fighting stances at me while circling me, all the while jabbing their knives at me. Suddenly I was back in my hotel. I somehow knew the military commander was behind this, and I was both scared and angry. I went back to the military place again and encountered him in the submarine style part of it. I tried to push past him in the corridor and it was a tight squeeze: I got like a sexually malevolent vibe from him. Once I got past him, the entire place was deserted, and I felt a panic. Suddenly I was in a place that in the dream was my local college, but it looked nothing like it does in real life. I was with my mother and we were admiring the layout. That's all I remember. Up until the "act" of the dream, it was not a pleasant experience, but I didn't startle awake sweating or anything thankfully.

The so often jumbled nature of dreams it would seem Hugo. An interesting read never-the-less. Thank you for sharing.

Even though these can sometimes not be the cluster dreams, will I keep posting them on this thread or set up a new one?

Dreams seem to wander a bit for us all, so I would think that you could continue here or open a new thread. We are just glad that you have become a welcome member of our Sleeping and Dreaming forum.

I'm having weirdly realistic dreams again, mainly massive arguments with people close to me, took two hours and a lot of caffeine to pull myself together today. I row with one particular family member and we would have had problems in the past but that's all gone but it's quite brutal in the dreams..

This reminds me of a family member that I may have a disagreement with, and upon reflection, needlessly. Perhaps working such things out in dreams is part of the solution?

Magic beans java solves many of my problems too, as you well know Grem. It just so happens that I am beginning my Friday holiday off with a morning in my favourite javahouse.

    Maybe reliving those times?

    *hugs* That sounds absolutely rotten.

It feels more like i'm trying to make myself angry because i'm not that angry anymore so i've changed. Kind of hard to explain

Makes me wonder if your dreams somehow compensate for your wakeful states, working through emotional conflicts to give them balance, or whatever? Dream interpretation is not one of my strong suits.

Dream interpretation? More art. Not science.

I believe that while sleeping the 'dust settles' from all the events of the day/past.. Lately the shape of my dreams seems more like they are trying to antagonise me, i'm annoying myself?.

Cannot remember the source, but I recall reading a study awhile back that suggested sleeping on things studied the night before helped later recall and thinking; i.e., a variation of your "dust settles?"

I was just thinking about this, i remembered that a good friend of mine will sleep on a problem. He always leaves a notebook beside the bed as he will come up with solutions to work problems (he's in IT) while sleeping.. We still don't know the extent of our minds. If i have a problem it will usually interrupt my sleep or make it difficult to fall asleep in the first place where as he 'uses' the time for problem solving

Yes Grem and Fathom, I do keep a notebook by my bed, but not for documenting solutions to problems; rather to capture plot ideas for fictional writing.
