I posted that CL420 a bit higher up on the page. Asking price still the same. Obviously no takers at that money...

Phaeton would be lovely if it was half the price, had half the miles and wasn't a tractor :p

What is a realistic price for 07 phaeton petrol?

I have absolutely no idea. They rarely come up for sale and if they do, they seem to be either diesel or 3.2l V6 petrol. Undesirable in my book if you're going to pay max tax...

    Wouldn't mind a petrol V8 or even W12 myself. I'd put a "Passat 1.9TDI" badge on the back :p

Terrible colour but utterly beautiful car. the interior at the time was something you only got in a Rolls. There is a garage in Ballyvourney which has a silver estate

I'm wondering would that be worth giving a full re-spray... She'd be gorgeous in black.

If it is worth it depends on the new owner :)

You will not see a cent back of the few thousand you spend on respraying it and the car isn't that cheap to start with. I hate white on cars, so for those reasons, I would be out. Would love to be wafting around in an XM though

Outside of budget, but realistically it should be close to half the price considering the mileage.

If you read the DD description, it says "VRT not included in the price". Probably wouldn't be much, but still well overpriced.

That Phaeton is ridiculously over priced

I'd be thinking of it as a future classic rather than a daily...

Something like that, which is already quite rare, has real potential to become a future classic imo.

Absolutely. I saw its predecessor, a Citroen SM Maserati, at a classic show last weekend. A thing of great beauty

I saw Adam Clayton from U2 driving one in the late 80s. it was beautiful even then.

I had one of them in Germany about 12 years ago, seriously good car. As good on a long journey as a W126 or E32. Mine had 600,000 km on it when I got it, used to do Munich-Bologna or Munich-Florence most weekends, always got out of it fresh as a daisy.

Was sold in Burkina Faso along with a Volvo 740 in 2004. God rest it's merry German soul.

There's every chance the car is still driving!

Very rare car out there, as are all Opels. Big petrol engine and a saloon means it has no commercial worth as a taxi, Bush taxi etc. Doesn't have the social status of a Merc, BMW etc.

Probably lasted 3 years, once the suspension goes and that gets expensive to replace it loses its monetary value.

Adam Clayton had a cx. Sm was a 70's car.

Adam Clayton had a SM. Don't believe he had a CX, but he definitely had a SM. He also had older Aston Martins. He seems to like classics (as does the Edge and Bono, Larry not so much)

I'm thrilled for Adam Clayton and his CX.

But I saw him driving an SM;)

Don't mean to sound dickish but every time I see a thread update it's about Adam Clayton. Less of the argey, more of the bargey please!!

^^ other than looks and mod cons is there much of a difference between this and the earlier model (comfort, drive and reliability)? I'm considering an 03 with 115k miles. If the above was nearer to me I'd be giving it serious consideration.
