I like that team a lot. Good point regarding not captaining the other big hitters while Kun is available. Foregoing them certainly allows you to strengthen elsewhere. Is the double Pool midfield a bit of a risk though?

Possibly but Liverpool are going to score a lot of goals imo and I'm happy to have both. I try not to worry about doubling up and just pick the players who I think will score the most points

So let's see how a double Friday GW copes with a WC :).

Tempted myself but next international break GW starts on a Friday and it's another 2 weeks of gleaning some information re starting 11's. Hoping Wilson at Bournemouth can break into their first 11 by then.

    Yeah I know.

But I can't get Agüero back this week without WC. So let's roll with it. And I've taken no advantage whatsoever last year for keeping it late to a time I thought was in theory more suitable for it. So I'll try something different this season ;). I've already been incinerated for not playing it during the first international break and my 21 pts 3.666m GR last GW woke up the phantoms of my disastrous season finale last year...

I'll board this WC somewhere down the line troop. 2 FTs and no clue.

WC plan (yet to be activated):

    Foster | Jakup

    Valencia | Baines | Stones | Kone | Amat

    Sanchez | Antonio | Lamela | Gündogan | Capoue

    Zlatan | Aguero | Benteke

Opted for sanchez instead of hazard...
Main doubt is Baines/Gündogan or Williams/Bolasie

    Any considerations?

Consider Kone to Smith 4.0 from Bournemouth (say) and replace Gundogan.
I do like him but Capoue would be my 4th mid with your squad.

I'm going to use my wildcard. So if you could tell what are the sensible, obvious and safe choices are that will see me say safely in the FPL 100k peloton for the coming months I would greatly appreciate it :o

    4.5/4.0

United def Everton Def Amat Stones 4.5

Snodgrass Antonio Capoue [Premium] Liverpool mid

Kun [Premium, prob Ibra due to ownership!] Bony/Benteke/Defoe/Deeney

Can't go too far wrong with the above template IMO. With a premium mid and fwd it makes chopping and changing easy. Liverpool mid can be argued but worthwhile due to how free scoring they've been. No Spurs, Chelsea or Everton attacking cover in the above assuming premiums are Sanchez/ibra might be worth addressing but ya can't have all the pokemon

Don't know why anyone would still have Stones. Benched today and that was without Kompany starting. Pep has said he has to rotate with all the matches City have

This is where it goes wrong for a start. The two most in form strikers in the league apart from Aguero. Costa vs Ibra is a close one, while Mr Streaky Lukaku hit 11 goals in 10 games on a similar run of good fixtures around this time last year and could do you serious damage if ignored.

There is no template. You're gonna have to opt for 4 or 5 premium guys (including 9.0+ mids/fwds) from about 10 viable options capable of scoring big any given week.

    Opinions on this?

    Heaton | Jakup

    Valencia | Kingsley | Evans | Coleman | Amat

    Sanchez | Antonio | Snodgrass | Chadli | Capoue

    Zlatan | Aguero | Lukaku

Obviously gone with mostly form players. Very difficult to go without city mid or pool but can alter easily enough if one of the strikers starts misfiring. Don't like picking the two cheap Swansea defenders but they are starting for now so why not:pac:

Would rather go Coleman to Williams and upgrade one of your Swansea defenders to Holebas, Robertson, or Pieters. Evans could also switch to one of those, tough fixtures and he's on 3 yellows. Not convinced Chadli will be a good pick, Pulis attacking is an oxymoron.

You can still fit them players in but suffer at the back for it. Too many choices for there to be a template but there's still some obvious good value choices in the likes of Antonio, snodgrass, Capoue in midfield. Amat only guaranteed 4.0 starter so he's in. Kun is essential. 4.5/4.0 is most obv choice given better options outfield with cleanies hard to come by.

    4.5/4.0
    MUN / EVE / Amat
    Antonio Snodgrass Capoue
    Kun

Fill in the blanks. Sanchez + Ibra must haves at the moment for me. Can't be arsed with Costa because he's a ban waiting to happen and bonuses suffer. IMO you can't go without the above enablers in midfield if you want all those premium players.

I hate using a wildcard after with 2FTs to use but I don't think I've any other choice. Stones, Özil, Barkley, Hazard, Gray and Costa/Ibra (for Aguero) all need to go.

Worth just pulling the trigger now before Gray falls in price tonight?

Just FT him out to someone you would want to keep in case you change your mind. No point activating it yet but may as well avoid the drop plus Gray ain't worth keeping.

Agree with you on Chadli, that points haul today shouldn't be taken into account much west brom rarely manage 2 goals a game so today can be put down as a freak result!!
Have altered the team a bit, more variety at the back and removing Zlatan opens the door for a much better balanced midfield and Costa has been banging them in this season too. I want to keep Zlatan :/ but need to go with the head over heart.

    Thoughts on this WC side:

    https://gyazo.com/3fce7d3c336e78568ee5032e95010b44

I have 0.1m ITB. I feel something else needs to be done with the defense. Also no Man U or Arsenal coverage might be risky. Thoughts?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,195 ✭✭✭Colking

I'd get heaton or foster as one of your keepers and downgrade one of your defenders. The rest looks very good. Only problem is though that Capoue is a genuine starter now so you'll be leaving points on the bench at times.

I was thinking Snodgrass on the bench - they have Pool and Chelsea next. Watford have class fixtures for the next 4-5 GWs.

Which defender should I downgrade and for who? This is what I'm stuck on

Is Deeney on Penalties for Watford ? Is Holebas a Yellow card magnet ?

Goalkeepers are very risky. Both susceptible to being dropped. Id change one of them to a certain starter long term, maybe Boruc-If you want Bournemouth Defence cover.
Def: Is solid but I think the funds could be spread about a bit better.
I'd swap out Smith for someone if you choose Boruc.
Watford have a great run now, Zuñiga (4.4) ignoring his points haul today, a 4.4 defender with a decent run is a good enabler.
I'd downgrade Baines to an 5.0 Everton option (Richards maybe)
I think 5.0 for a Leicester defender is overkill, I don't see them as top 4 contenders, if you downgrade Baines to a 5.0 you can get a 5.6 defender from Man Utd or Man City or Spurs. Another option is a 4.5 Bournemouth Defender and Cech or Courtois in goal.
As previous poster said, a West Brom defender or Foster is worth considering

MF: Is Snodgrass your 5th MF? if so, I think he's too expensive (especially for a club that will likely struggle) unless you want to rotate him.

As you say the lack of Arsenal, Man Utd (and Spurs) cover would concern me.

No idea. Was he the player someone mentioned in pre season that was a very attacking wingback?

ANyone know why he was starting today and not before?

I wouldn't rush to get him in on a normal transfer just yet but I think he could be worth a punt if on a WC.

He didn't start today, came on as sub for Capoue. I would much rather Holebas, started every match and on right side free kicks and corners

Initial thought while I catch price rises:

    Foster Heaton
    Lovren Williams Robertson Holebas Kingsley
    Capoue Firmino Sterling Antonio Sanchez
    Aguero Deeney Lukaku

Double Watford attack and strong front 8 not so much to my liking. Could fix that in two transfers if Lukaku goes back to troll mode and I need Ibra. Would like to squeeze Hazard back though
