Love seeing the die hard Dubs referring to our players (the 13 who it is pointed out arent good enough for Dublin) as "bench fodder". Keep it coming lads, setting yourselves up for a mighty fall ;)

A bit like painting every live stock green and red and saying 'It could be are year' ;)

So how many Dublin forwards would make the Mayo starting 15? :D

tbh individual comparisons do not a result make

Dublin have the better players in nearly every position, doesn't guarantee anything though on the day

You should paint a few homeless heroine addicts blue and.... blue for the laugh. Say stuff like " parnell park ?? Where da ****s dat?" and "I'm not going to a league match the scouse derby's on the box"

Two very different things. But i am sure you know that.

To answer your schoolyard-based question: no idea. Some of the Dublin forwards may not be half as good in a less dominant team - mannion, rock, costello all have the whiff of flat track bullies about them. Flynn and Brogan are in decline. Mayo dont need another Kilkenny although he would prob make it. Connolly is obviously excellent. So, two. What does that prove? Nowt.

Byrne, Small, Cooper, McCarthy, Fenton, MDMA, McManamon, Kilkenny, Rock and Brogan are nothing out of the ordinary in comparison to their Mayo counterparts. Some may be better on their day etc but that's it. Some of the sh1te being talked in here by Dubs fans is quite the eye opener. You'd never hear Kerry men talking like this. Keep it coming.

Ah we are just trying to help you lads out by making it sweeter if ye do win

To be honest if you pick a team on form so far this years it would probably be along these lines

Cluxton (close call but for 2 bad kick outs has been flawless however)
    Higgins
    Cooper
    McMahon
    Keegan
    OSullivan
    McCarthy
    Fenton
    OShea
    OConnor
    Kilkenny
    Connolly
    Rock
    McMen
Brogan (no amazing but no one to oust him)

But it doesnt always work out that the team with the collectively most talented players always wins, it gives them a massive advantage but to add to it you need composure, desire and discipline too. If Mayo are to have a chance they must exceed Dublin in those 3 areas

    Agreed.

If you were looking at it from a Mayo respective, you'd only take players from Dublin that would improve us. So for me, Cluxton, McMahon, Cooper, O'Sullivan, Kilkenny and Connolly.

We're alright other than that. Could argue the toss over some other individual positions, but only the above would be an improvement in my eyes.

    Combined team:

    Cluxton
    Higgins
    Cooper
    McMahon
    Keegan
    O'Sullivan
    Boyle
    SOS
    Parsons
    DOC
    AOS
    Kilkenny
    COC
    Connolly
    Moran

    :D:D

After naming 10 Dubs and saying they are ordinary in comparison to their Mayo counterparts :D:D. You'd swear Mayo have won the last 3 out of 5 titles.

So you are saying 66% of the Mayo forward line is on a par with Dublins?? Even the most hardened Mayo fans would find it hard to agree with that

Except he didn't say they were ordinary. He said nothing out of the ordinary when compared with the Mayo counterparts. And he's not wrong.

9 of the 15 from Mayo?

    bloody cocky Mayo fans!

Do Dublin fans refuse to acknowledge that there's different perspectives on this? You Dublin fans are looking at this as 'who from Mayo would improve Dublin', and you're right in thinking that there's not many. But we'd be right in thinking that there's not too many obvious improvements from Dublin to make in Mayo, at least in terms of individual players.

The team there lists the Mayo team and includes those from Dublin who would be an obvious improvement over those from Mayo. I'm not sure it's controversial.

Name one Dublin player I've left out who would be an obvious improvement over a Mayo player I've included?

What impressed me the most about Dublin this year is simple...composure. The composure they showed after Kerry's 2-04 before half time was quite something. Absolutely zero sense of panic.
Only the great teams possess that. I guess that mental strength comes with winning. The came out after half time and leveled the score by 50 mins.

So if you had a choice between having Andy Moran or Bernard Brogan playing for you on Sunday, if you are really honest you know who you would pick.

If had the chance to pick Mannion and Paddy Andrews again they would be in the Mayo team in a heartbeat

Mayo do have some quality players who would be welcome into the Dublin team

They are all from Dublin and played 90+% of all championship games in Dublin??

As a Dublin fans I can confirm that some of us do and some of us don't.

Unless you are referring only to the ones who do as "Dublin fans"

It would be interesting to see Dublins composure and mental strength tested in an equal manner to every other team in the competition but that will never happen.

McCarthy over Boyle at wing back every day

Two good midfielders picked, but Fenton gets in ahead of both.

Two from Brogan, Macker and Andrews over DOC and Andy Moran. Andrews probably won't start, but if he was a Mayo Man he'd be the second forward (after AOS) on your team sheet.

Dam Dublin getting all those home games, if only Mayo were given home games against 2nd rate opposition they would beat them easy too. Oh wait................
