Just ordered one this morning, any one recommend any good covers?
Don't want to scratch that camera.

Its hard to find decent covers. Full screen ones seem to be pushed off by cases and other tempered glass ones dont fit the full screen/camera.

Nillkin H+ pro is the best imo. Covers the front camera.

Phone is back available to order now. Seems the whole 10:59pm Irish time and 11:59pm CET thing was just a farce.

Estimated delivery date is 10 October though! So buckle up!

Actually it's worth noting that if you buy from the GB site (aka send it to ParcelMotel) the estimated delivery date is 20 September!

Ordered mine off the Irish site, it said shipping date would be Sep 16th.

Interesting! Though it's the estimated delivery date from the order page that I quoted btw

It also said in my confirmation email that I had priority shipping even though I had selected standard. Not sure what to make of that.

I ordered the Spigen cover. Had one of these for my last phone and liked it.

This is purely speculation on my part but maybe they upgraded the shipping for free as a sort of promo for the sales being back again? Maybe another Boardsie who bought today can shed some light on theirs?

I bought another one today at 9.20.
Yep i got prioty shipping for free it says.
Although it says shipped by 15th and delivery by 22nd

I ordered mine back in July - and selected the free shipping. On my invoice it says "PriorityESU". It still took a road trip around Europe before arriving. :)

edit: It still arrived within 7 days of being shipped.

I ordered mine there now but I didn't realise it wouldn't be delivered until October 10th! If I want it by next week should I go for priority shipping?

I just ordered mine there too, upgrading from the OP2. It looks like I was given Priority shipping even though I didn't select it. Others boards users have said the same so you probably got it too.

General consensus seems to be that you'll get it long before then. Let's hope so anyway.

I ordered from the UK site on August 23rd, estimated shipping date was today September 12th. It was dispatched today. It also said PriorityESU on mine until it shipped, then it changed to ECONOMY. Estimated Delivery date on OnePlus is September 18th, but DHL say Friday 16th. I'd say any of ye hoping to get it earlier than the dates on OnePlus don't hold your breath!

You're getting it 2 days early?

Yeah but the shipping date was 100% accurate which is what most people are asking about

So it shipped on the day it said it would ship and is saying you'll have it 2 days earlier than expected.

    Cool story bro.

I don't even know why I'm entertaining such stupidity but anyway...

Some people have said they were given shipping/delivery dates in October. Other posters said they would likely come sooner. I was making the point that my phone shipped when it said it would, so it didn't come any sooner.

Just trying to give some helpful advice "bro"

So clearly it is coming sooner.

Anyone have any luck applying the orzly screen protector and the spigen case? It's out by a fraction and I'm thinking of clipping the screen protector to make it fit.

If it's tempered just don't, I tried similar one time hoping the the brand new scissors might chop without spreading cracks, my gamble didn't pay off lol

My second orzly was flat in a padded pocket in the car for a few hours this morning. Took it out and there's a big crack across it. I give up now. Confused as to how it happened where it was, no pressure on it or bad bumps hit.

Quite nice using the screen without it though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 596 ✭✭✭Sync

Mine never cracked but a few chips along the bottom of it started to bug me so I just took it off, the fingerprint sensor is so much nicer with it off, think I'll just try and use it without a protector for now it feels much nicer.

I think the soft gold one is not being delivered till October, is that why we're seeing different dates ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 370 ✭✭tea_and_cake

My soft gold is on the way to parcel motel. Should have it tonight. Ordered it from UK site on Wednesday. Delivery as per estimated on Oneplus site.

The key here is not to take one persons advice or one website as Gospel.

There is nothing to prove dash charge degrades battery life over normal battery degradation that you get over the life cycle of your device.

I'd be taking this advice with a dollop of salt.

hmm, I think if you read the website you will see that they provide good scientific details on their findings for Li-Ion batteries.

Dash charge in and of itself does not degrade battery life for a Li-Ion battery. There are many parts that contribute to the capacity and life of a Li-Ion battery. Dash charge an old battery and you're causing more harm than good.

This is of course all guidelines, if you need to dash charge your phone because you're going out on the town in 30 minutes, then by all means do it. Like most things in life exercising moderation is key.

    Sauce:

    :pac::pac:
Going down the conspiracy theory route and one could say that the phone manufacturers want you to dash charge all the time so that your phones battery performance drops and in 2 / 3 years time you're buying a new phone. Since the OP3 does not have a removable battery...

Stupid question but do you need an adapter if you wish to charge it normally? If so does that adapter come with the phone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,777 ✭✭✭sentient_6

What do you mean charge it normally?

Dont be put off by the nonsense. Its not going to make a noticeable difference to your phone. Just use the adapter and cable in the box. You can use a different cable with the DashPlug and you won't get "dash" charge, or use a different adapter with the Dash cable and you won't get a "dash" charge.
