The UCI have announced the rider quotas for the World Road Race Championships in Qatar.

    For Ireland:
    • 3 riders - Elite Men
    • 4 riders - U23 Men
    • 0 riders - Junior Men
For the men's road race, who will go? Sam Bennett, Nico Roche and... ?

I'm available to take the third spot if they need someone.

They could have a race against you and the other potential riders (on MTBs) across Dublin for the last position....

13 months of 4 weeks exactly each. I'm in love.

I'm paid weekly, no more 5 week pay months  What's left over at the end of the month after rent, expenses and bike stuff is there to buy more bike stuff. Months with 5 Fridays in them are the best.

I really want to get out tonight but have a flat and no new spares. I repaired two but I really don't trust them for a decent spin.

Could be worse my missus made me go to a spin class with her.

The pedals push like a fixie and the bikes lean madly from side to side in a most un bicycle like manner.

Still might be an alternative in Turbo trainer weather

Christ. If I ever find myself on a group ride with a recruitment consultant who started cycling to "network" they're going straight in the ditch.

I'm a Recruitment Manager and the last thing I want to do when cycling is talk shop. When people hear who I work for I'm usually inundated with customer service requests anyway :pac:

Just listening to Annalise on the radio there. Now that she has brought home the silver, it's time to dig up this classic:

    Tut tut

Still, the idea of a noon cycle sounds nice.

Little bit different, but I was standing beside Gerard McSorley in a bar, and I started talking to him: "Were you in my Spanish class? You look very familiar." He was very gracious and polite, and reluctantly mentioned that he was an actor, so maybe he seemed familiar because of that. Cue me backing away, apologising, as he very diplomatically asked about learning Spanish.

AnnaLise is great. Such simple uncomplicated joy at winning that medal. Mighty girl. She looked like a goddess waving that huge flag coming into Dun Laoghaire yesterday on the news.

Not a big good news story (or even a big story), but good of the recently mentioned Cycling Officer to highlight the bits of work DCC are doing around the city.

She's 183m tall, like me. Probably looked like a clip from Gulliver's Travels.

The only cycling specific jersey I own and use occasionally when cycling is a yellow jersey from the 2009 TDF. Would it be overkill if the second jersey I buy to use regularly is a rainbow world champions jersey???
