Anyone find you have to redo the fingerprints often to get them to work reliably

    Hi there,
Recently went back to a S7 from a HTC M9 and wow what a difference and love this phone now. When setting up phone from new I set up a PIN and fingerprint screen lock. All was going well until I recently restarted it as had it turned off, now after a restart you have to re enter your PIN for fingerprint sensor to open it but unfortunately I was unable to remember my PIN ( silly bugger next time write PIN number down ). Eventually I opened it using Samsung Find My Mobile by using Lock My Mobile and using a new PIN phew what a relief as I didnt want to do a factory reset and then have to reload everything. Now I want to change my PIN to a new number ( already written down ) and when I go into Screen lock type in settings and it asks me under Confirm PIN to enter my PIN I enter the PIN I used in Lock My Mobile to open phone it doesnt accept it and locked me out again for 5 minutes but after that time fingerprint sensor opened phone normally. Question is how do I reset a new number because if I have to restart /reboot phone for any reason I will be locked out again

For anyone getting it (or who did get it) from t-dimension, be aware that the SM-G935FD does not have an EU warranty and you'll have to send it back to them in Hong Kong if you need repairs, which they say will take 2-4 weeks. I tried Samsung's repair shop and also their UK place but neither place have the parts for a replacement.

Thanks for the warning. I was looking to get it. What went wrong with your phone?

What would you recommend then? Go for that one or the G9350?

My screen just turned green one day, wasn't dropped and hadn't been in contact with water or anything so I'm guessing it was just defective.

From a quick google, the European model just has an F at the end, not FD, so SM-G935F. The 9350 seems to be a Chinese model (I'm just reading this from here http://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-model-numbers-differences/ )

I'm thinking about picking up an Exynos version of the S7 edge like this. Have bought from eglobalcentral before so know what I'm getting into with regards warranty. Just wondering if there is really that big an advantage with having the Exynos version and are there cheaper options out there?

EDIT: Nevermind just read back the last few pages and see my questions were already asked and answered

I don't mean to sound like an ass but it's only water resistant and not water proof so if you put it in a glass of water to show your friends and it does get damaged the warranty wouldn't cover it :P

Isn't there an ad running with some lad who drops it into the sink and yet still manages to answer the phone to the girl he was hoping would call after.

Download that as evidence.. sorted :)

Any recommendations on a screen protector that'll work with a case?

Oh yeah it should be fine but on the off chance it does get water damage then it's not covered

Any of the cheap plastic ones will provide a layer of additional scratch protection but no shatter protection. Zaag do a case friendly one which most car phone warehouses sell.

The glass versions of all scteen protectors offer some impact protection but are universally pants as they lift, attract dust along the edges, dont cover the screen fully etc.. Best avoided.

I use a Spigen Curved Crystal screen protector with a Spigen Tough Armor case purchased from http://ie.mobilefun.com/

White Samsung Wireless fast charger only £14.99. Sold by o2 on eBay and it's the one that holds the phone in the vertical position.

    Aaaand it's gone!!!
