I hear the OnePlus Three is pretty tasty. 6GB ram and nearly half the price. Of course the demand exceeds supply at the moment.

Unless you have a handbag to carry the Edge the S7 is handier to have in your pocket but if you need the slightly larger screen get the edge. They both do the same thing.
Carrier wise Vodafone have better 4G coverage at a cost though, so if you have 4G with 3 in your area and don't travel out of this area much why move. I am with Vodafone and travel from Cork to Louth and still find coverage patchy at times no 4G in places only Have.

You're right!! I've had the pad version since May and I only read the instructions now. Isn't that something they always say in the manual just to cover themselves? Surely it can't damage the phone leaving it on the charger all the time....isn't that what trickle charge is for?

I also received my wireless charger yesterday and been using it at work today, Christ it's slow, and yes I'm using my original fast charger. I even noticed it go backwards at one stage from 69% to 68%.
Also it doesn't recognise my phone every time I place it on it and I have to move it around a bit but if I put my phone on it's side in landscape it charges straight away.
    Not impressed so far.

Hmmm doesn't sound right for an official Samsung product. You wouldn't by any chance have "fast charging" disabled on your phone (Settings | Battery)? Just a long shot.

No I checked both fast charging and wireless fast charging and both of them are on.
Seems like it was too good to be true.

Oh bloody hell is that the white one on eBay I gave a link for? On sale from the o2 shop? I feel kind of responsible now. I'll check the HUKD thread to see if anyone else is having trouble.

:edit: Just checked and all the comments save for one are positive:

Perhaps you should start an eBay claim? Say that it doesn't work as it should. It's quite normal that you need to get the phone dead centre in order for it to start charging though.

I have the Samsung fast charger and sometimes I might have to reposition it to start charging in either position but I don't see this as a drawback to using it so if this bothers you just stick to using the cable and you will be fine.

Went ahead and bought the S7 edge.

    A few initial thoughts so far for anyone interested;

It's the first large screen phone I've had, but the size of the app icons is weird for me. I think it'd be much nicer to have an extra row rather than enlarged apps.

The accidental presses because of the edge seems like a glaring design flaw. It doesn't bother me so much (yet) and I guess I have to get used to holding a large screen in general, I just hope it doesn't turn into a real annoyance.

The general styling of the UI elements are too curvy for my tastes. The dialer, calculator etc are all pointlessly curved which I guess is Samsung's attempt to make their apps look distinctive.

I haven't found a good use for the edge slider yet,

On the positive side, the camera is amazing, the volume is nice and loud, the battery seems pretty good so far, the screen is super crisp and bright, I really like fingerprint unlock and the clock display when locked. Knowing it's water resistant is great too.

Happy so far, but still waiting to be definite on my verdict.

Go and download Nova Launcher and you can change around everything you need to.

People still happy with these 6 months in?
Can't decide between this and iPhone 7,Samsung bloat, battery life being eroded by updates and slow updates to android putting me off.
    But that screen! And camera

Cmon specs don't tell anywhere near the full story, sure the S7 has less megapixels on the camera than the S5.

Battery life issues really putting me off.plenty reports of monthly updates reducing it big time and the phone is only a fewvmonrhs old
At least with iphone you get a solid 4 years of timely updates. Android manufacturers just seem to abandon phones after 2 years, get really slow with updates from the start.
Never had an iPhone BTW,just trying to make a decision. Do think people get lost throwing around numbers and specs that don't mean what they think they mean

I've had my S7 for about 2 weeks now and i am very happy with the battery life. I'm a heavy user (browsing both data and wifi, calls, bluetooth for the car and headphones and streaming deezer in the gym, location services always on) and I can easily get through the day with about 40% left at night.

Also i recently purchased a clear silocone cover and tempered glass screen from ebay. The cover is grand but the tempered glass screen is unseless cos it leaves about 1cm exposed on the left and right hand sides of the screen..Is that normal?

3 weeks in but very happy. Once I disabled some of the Samsung bloat and got it working, I actually switched from the Google launcher to the Samsung one.

Great, quick camera. Great screen. Better battery life than my last phone too.

Wireless charging at my desk is such a bonus!

That's interesting...I tried to use it, telling myself how convenient it is....but it really didn't do anything for me. I guess you could say the inconvenience outweighed the convenience :D

Another wireless charger convert here. The stand fast charge one is so handy for at my desk in work.

As for s7 edge v ip7 I honestly don't think there's much in it. Both top of the range phones, my s7 edge lasts the day handily enough with heavy use. I've a Samsung gear s2 smartwatch paired to it all day aswell.

I prefer android personally so my vote goes to s7 edge

There is definitely a cost to having it on all day but it's not something that's massively degraded the battery life so far today it's used 2%. I still get the day out of a full charge.

So guys, t-dimension are still fine to deal with? Years since I've bought a phone off them. Looking to get the S7 Edge, current phone decided it wanted to learn to fly this morning! What are the shipping charges like?

Shipping is about £9. They ship from UK warehouse so its fine to get from them.
