Third the salthouse. Head down shop street, stay left. Past Jurys and over the Wolfe Tone bridge and it's on your right. 5 min walk from Eyre square.

She's right to be. The record from '93 was insane. Everyone knew it was a doped athlete for years until it was confirmed only in recent times.

Yesterday's time blew it out of the water. In fact, the top 4 yesterday would all have broken the Olympic record and are the 4 fastest times in history aside from the '93 record. All the athletes comes from eastern African nations that have huge out of competition testing issues and have been condemned by WADA recently.

I don't buy it for a second. The second half of her run would have broken the Olympic record for the 5,000m!

I feel like Boards needs some sort of customer service hall of fame - adidas winning it for me today.

Got a pair of Boots in a sale just over a year ago. They were the midrange ones I think (so 130 was original price, I got them half price). They had a combination of molded and unmouded studs. Anyway, after a year one stud broke away from the sole of the boot. Emailed them to let them know, they gave me a full refund a year later and a voucher for 20% off any full priced item.

Slight inconvenience that they broke, but pretty epic customer service.

Love the rowing 8s. One of the great Olympic events. Total teamwork required.

Does the little person who sits in the boat yelling at them get a medal too?

I'm pretty sure they do. I think they are actually a critical component is my understanding.

You win!! Never been here before...first impressions are good.

On a different note...does anyone have any idea of what to buy your 67 year old father for his birthday?

He's not in to clothes, sports, jewellery, cars, golf ..basically anything?

Expensive bottle of Whiskey/wine/whatever if he's into that

Yeah, they were talking on BBC about how important they are but it was Inverdale so I zoned out.

I can't imagine how weird it is to be the 55kg best friend and effectively captain of 8 massive lads.

Yeah WADA gave them a 0/10 for their anti-doping enforcement.

Mo Farah trains there. Just thought I'd say that.

I thought Farah trained in Oregon?

How many velodromes are there in Ireland and where are they?

I did a google search and found 3, on in Belfast, one in Dublin and one in Kanturk. The one in Belfast is an outdoor tarmav track and not exactly what I'm thinking of

They're supposed to be building one in the Nation Sports Campus but it's part of the second stage of development so I wouldn't expect to see it for a while.

He has trained in both. One of the coaches who was heading up an Ethiopian camp Farrah was involved in was done for wholesale doping offences earlier this year.

Farrah's camp made a statement that he no longer worked with him. Unfortunately, athletics is in such a poor state that most top athletes now perform with a justifiable cloud of suspicion hanging over them.

According to the Cycling Ireland website there is no indoor one in Ireland.

I think I've changed my mind about golf (and other sports) not belonging in the Olympics. They obviously matter to the people who turn up to play there and it's probably not fair to judge a sport based on how famous the competitors are. So yeah, I withdraw all previous objections to the inclusion of golf, tennis etc.

The shooting "sports" are still dumb though.
