Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Long town fc post above. Prizes are poor 50 euro voucher for spirit and crate of that brew beer espically cost 10.40 enter

Those are special prizes, the main prizes will be cash and dependent on how many entries they have, exactly the same as other supporters club leagues.

Has anyone in the Fantasy Premier League cash league run by kevin moss partaken in previous years? I don't like the way he closed his group this morning and stated he can no longer post about the league finances due to gambling laws. This was after he pulled in record money which was well over £2k.

The timing is suspicious on the league start so i have a concern he is doing a runner with the money but if others can vouch for him it would put my mind at ease

Edit: He has removed all mention of prizes from his website and updated to say the league is only for fun and bragging rights.

I doubt its possible to get my money back but the whole thing is dodgy. Its amazing he could take money up until last night but as soon as FPL starts suddenly he is hit with gambling restrictions It stinks but is a warning that any league operater could do a runner at any time with funds so its important to exercise carefulness and diligence when choosing leagues

I also see thornhill legends have overnight, deleted all tweets related to the league!

That sounds very dodgy. I only joined because he had past winners on site, including one infamous member on these boards.

Surely you could go to the police if someone makes off with €2k total

He's probably just got that there to avoid gambling trouble, I get email warnings from PayPal about gambling too and I only run smaller money leagues.

I'm in that. I'll await clarification before unleashing and hellfie on his ass.

He seemed a bit of a dick to me from the off but just decided to ignore him and win his money.

Same as. He is bull****ting now on facebook and wont provide prize breakdown , i assume you are on there.

Ill ask him for a refund as im pulling out. It's a shame as he has over €3000 which is a nice league but he far too dodgy to be trusted, thats why I'm looking for past members here to vouch for him before i escalate.

His fund has nearly tripled over previous years so msybe the greed is getting the better of him. I would suggest to you to pull out. League spaces are too precious and £21 paid for a dodgy league that deleted all references to money is £21 too much. FHFC is there too i think, im not sure who else is in there but im pulling out, IF HE LETS ME!!!

Would explain why he was advertising the league on Twitter to all and sundry. Couldn't we claim a refund on PayPal through the seller not providing said goods and services or is PayPal in the UK even that anti-gambling?

Paypal might seize all funds. If he is smart he would have withdrawn all funds by now

He was talking to me on fb nessenger but i asked for a refund and he went silent then. If i report to paypal, they will probably seize all remaining funds under gambling laws

Did you email bohsfantasy@gmail.com for the league code (message to this effect would have come up after you paid HM).?

Same problem. He didn't release refund to me so he is trying to keep funds against players will. It might work out ok but the guy is clearly an ass that can't run a league properly so I would prefer to be out. I don't trust him to pay out prizes at the end of the season

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,734 ✭✭✭zarquon

Came across a free entry league run by a well known UK business with almost £3000 in cash prizes with only 40 members!!

The caveat is UK residents only so if you are a UK resident with at least 100 posts in this forum, PM me for the code.

Please do not PM if you don't meet the criteria.

I have been in this league for the last 4 years, prizes were always paid out in the end. I'm in the Facebook group as well so that is where I've seen the small delays on occasion.

What is going on now in the Facebook group is a joke, he seems to be suggesting that the league goes ahead as is and payment will be made in "services" at the end of the season, whatever that is supposed to mean. The guy doesn't seem to be too bothered about all his entrants that paid up in good faith and thats the worry here.

Only saving grace is that the mini league is still there, if the plan all along was to do a runner I would have expected the league to be deleted already.

Let's see what happens over next couple of days.....

That fella seems to be getting it sorted. He has replied to me via messanger in fairness. I think he's just a bit of an eedgit.

Seems to have got some kind of tug from some regulatory body or other after some rather naive public promoting of the league (including looking for advertising on the web page) and crapped himself and handled it pretty stupidly.

I think they will come good.

They seemed to be suggesting that the payouts be disguised as payments for services as in they give you the cash and say its for you cutting his lawn. Really silly stuff. All he needs to do is fob off whoever was onto him, take it out of the public domain and get on with it.

Which I think he is slowly realising.

He's posted a prize breakdown on the Facebook and is communicating with me and Zarquon there with no aggro.

On the upside, the level of silliness on display bodes well for the standard of their league! :D

I'd suggest we get somebody to collate the scores for each group like before.

I can set up a google sheet so they can access and fill them in. Hopefully get one sorted that does the league tables automatically.

Stupid question. How does the champions league work?

It just like aby other just cup. H2H vs whoever you're drawn against.

But format like the Champions League. Group stages then 2 legged knockouts.

64 teams. Winners takes all €1,000
