What are our thoughts on our potential SF opponents?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,775 ✭✭✭✭Slattsy

    We'll annihilate them. They're finished.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,569 ✭✭✭✭ProudDUB

We have not annihilated Kerry in the championship my life time. I won't be making bold predictions like that, until we have a few hammerings of the good kind, in our rear view mirror.

Even if we get over the line against Donegal, we have no idea what Dublin team will show up for the semi. If we are as hyper and undisciplined as we were in the first Mayo semi last year, the frees we give away could be enough to keep Kerry in the game, or even hand it to them on a platter. We came dangerously close to doing that with Mayo.

Mayo are a much better team than Kerry (imo)

I thought we were extremely comfortable winners in the AI final last year too, on another (dry) day it could have been double digits, it really was that easy.

I'm with you about the AIF last year as well as the league final.

A three point hammering if there ever was one.

I eagerly await the dreadful tickets from the club.

Ah, the Hill isn't that bad. :D

Ask us nicely and we'll give you a verifiable alibi that you spent both Saturday and Sunday helping "a friend" move house.

Share your curry chips with us & we'll swear blind there was no booze or dodgy wimminz within a five mile radius.

The maddening delusion has started over in the long grass already. Heaven help me.

Mark Griffin is on a serious wind up here surely...
The scorelines we've been putting up against Tipperary and Clare are not really reflective," Griffin said. "Munster is very difficult, we see Tipperary and Clare are both contesting All-Ireland quarter-finals.

Yeah, I know, but we've been part of double header quarter finals before and its never been this bad. And the sad thing is is that there probably won't be a sinner in Croker today, for the first pair of quarter finals. Given the demand for tickets, the GAA should have split next weekends games & have one on the Saturday and one on the Sunday.

They didn't know for sure the make up of next week til last night. A Dublin Cork, Tyrone v Westmeath double header mightnt have been quite as attractive.

Still look on the bright side, the 4 most passionate groups of fans, all together on the lash on a Saturday in August in Dublin, I can see a great atmosphere in and out of Croker next weekend

    http://www.gaa.ie/news/all-ireland-sfc-quarter-final-ticket-details/

Tickets will come back into circulation later in week id imagine. I will be close on a full house ....
The GAA can confirm the pairings for the two remaining GAA All-Ireland football quarter-finals which are scheduled to take place at Croke Park on Saturday, August 6th.

At 4.00pm Tyrone will play Mayo and this game is followed by the meeting of Dublin and Donegal at 6.00pm.

These games will be preceded by the GAA Football All Ireland Junior Final between Mayo and Kerry at 2.00pm.

A limited number of tickets will go on public sale tomorrow morning with the remaining tickets allocated to the Clubs, County Committees and GAA Season Ticket holders.

The participation of the counties involved on the same day means it is likely this fixture will sell out and tickets for public sale will be available online at gaa.ie and tickets.ie tomorrow morning from 9am and from Centra and SuperValu while stocks last.

It is not expected that there will be any public sale of tickets for the Football quarter-finals from the GAA Ticket Office in Dorset St.

Tickets are also on sale for the following day's GAA Hurling All Ireland semi-final involving Kilkenny and Waterford.

Just thinking for next year *I know its fecking ages away* but how does the Parnell pass work and is it worth it?

See the way i work im lucky to even get the Sundays off for the Championship games so i tend to miss the majority of the league match's. So basically what do you get ? How much is it ? When do they go on sale ? Theres normally at least 3 of us going so how would that work with it?

Sorry for all the questions i just dont really have a clue about the actual details :pac:

Dont think he's ever done it against a top team in Croker though (that i can remember of the top of me head) so not awfully worried about him.

McHugh the man to keep quiet in my book.

Eoin or Ryan?:)They were both exceptional yesterday.

The 2016 Parnell Passes are all sold out. They go on sale for 2017 next May. They are 120 euros for terrace and 160 (I think) for stand. If you have one, you get into all Dublin club games for free, in both codes & all home league games for free, in both codes. It also entitles you to buy a ticket for every championship game that Dublin play in, up to and including the All Ireland final. There is no attendance criteria, the way that there is with the season ticket. If there are 3 of you, you'd have to have 3 Parnell Passes.

Thanks for the reply! So your only getting league and club matchs included in the price then? Which way does the championship work do you get choice of certain seats or just have to turn up early like everyone else?

That's the part that confuses me with this and the season ticket. I'm really looking for something that be best value for money for thr championship games.

Yeah I can vaguely remember someone posting a heads up here for the benefit of both Dublin & Mayo people of that general sale

I have a pair of Nally tickets I'd swap for seats in the stand. Anyone interested pm me.

Lads for anyone looking to head up on Sunday for Waterford v KK I have 3 spare tickets that I will sell at a much reduced price to get them off my hands.

Bought them for family that can no longer attend.

Tickets are in the Cusack Stand Section 302 and are far enough back to be covered for anyone fearing a repeat of the Munster Final weather.

    PM if interested.

Would the parnell pass suite me as being mainly only available for championship games or would I be better off just buying separate and buying them quarters and semis together?

I'm just thinking ahead for next season.

The cold hard truth of the PP is that unless you attend Dublin Club SFC/SHC or League games (in both codes) it's pointless - other than guaranteeing you an All Ireland ticket if Dublin get there

Guess I'll just go the way I normally do and then start buying quarters and semis together.

    Thanks for the info lads!

Yep. Unless you go to club & league games, the PP is of no real value to you, from a financial point of view. Its main benefit is that it entitles you to buy a ticket to all of Dublins championship games. That is dead handy in the run up to sell out games, such as next Saturdays, as you don't have to get involved in any mad scramble for tickets. But it is of no monetary value, as you pay the same price for your tickets as every one else.

Re the season tickets, if you want one for a county that is sold out, email the season ticket peeps & ask to be put on the waiting list. If current season ticket holders don't renew for next year, their season tickets will go on sale to the public, a couple of days later. If you are on the waiting list, you'll get an email telling you of the day & time of the online sale. Once they go on sale online, its first come first served & once they are gone, they are gone. That is how some people got their hands on Dublin season tickets this year.

PD or anyone really .. Did you ever hear of a Croke Park season ticket? Fella I was chatting to at a local game recently was telling me he had one - he's a bit doddery at the best of times so when I assumed he was talking about the Dublin ST he was insistent that it was specific to CP. He's parked up in the Hogan for all the games ..

Yes an official was telling me about them on Saturday, coming up for sale again.
    A ten year ticket

I've seen people here, refer to regular season tickets and the 5 and 10 year packages as the Croke Park season ticket. I think they are just unaware of the correct names for them, or that the regular season ticket is county specific. I've never heard of another stand alone product called the Croke Park season ticket.
