Curran, is there any possibility of showing the container sizes on Detailing Shed to see how many litres/millilitres you're getting? I'm looking at Korrosol now and I'm wondering - is it a 1 litre or 500 ml bottle?

It was something we looked at a while back, but looks like one of us didnt take the ownership to look after the Bilt Hamber products!
Have updated Bilt Hamber - but a re-audit in order! ;)

It's not mine but I admire a well labelled shelving system with everything in one place.

Yesterday the boss showed me a trick. He got some power steering oil and rubbed it on the drivers side wing on my car, to my amazement it lift the paint very shiny. It also gets rid of hand/finger prints on the paint. Was also beads pretty well. Does anyone here use this life hack? Or is this sort of thing frowned upon?

Sounds ideal! I'm using windscreen wash as toothpaste these days. It foams up very well and changes colour like that new colgate toothpaste :pac:

If you run out of the Steering Fluid, there's always the baby oil, vaseline, vegetable oil options....people have been doing it for years! Used engine oil on black; damn, that shine!! :D

Hmm I'm sensing you all are not impressed, however nobody suggested that it may cause damage to the car in anyway. So if it shines the paint and doesn't do any harm, why not use it? Genuine question..

Don't forget a bit of WD-40 on the plastics in the engine bay. Dealer's trick of the trade :D

Without actually knowing for sure, but over time, I would imagine it wouldnt be the best for the paintwork - perhaps softening it!

    Don't knock it.
I did it years ago on my mondeo.
Bit if a whiff when it got hot for a day or two. After that it held up well.
Must find a pic of that actually.
I think that was around 2007/2008

In my experience wd-40 or oil of any sorts just collects muck for fun, even more so in dry hot weather when more dust in air.

A mate of mine has started working for a dealer last week and sent me a pic of there high tech cleaning garage equipement for new cars.

If you run out of steering fluid, just grab a bottle of brake fluid.
Wont take long before you have a delorean lookalike :D

That's why I specifically ask NOT for them to wash the car, even when it's included as part of the service.

Wait what you owned a 6 year old car

That's shocking behavior with your love of new number plates lol

Does look smart I agree, just I always found dirt was attracted to any left over oil residue like Bee's to pollen only I wasn't left with honey under my bonnets.

Decided to rip the 4 alloys off the Focus, clean them all inside and out and coat Collinite 845 on them.

I washed them, de-tar and de-ironed them and applied 3 layers of 845. It really gave them a nice shine in the sun and you can see nice sparkling paint. I messed the clean look up after I applied the tyre shine from a spray bottle. Some of the tyre shine went on the edge of the alloy and then I had to leave the house after the wash so I didn't allow the tyre shine to dry fully which meant lots of dirt got stuck onto the alloy. Hopefully it will wash off easily though and the finish will stick. I need to get some tire shine that I can maybe rub on with a brush, if such exists?

Did my first 2BM wash after sealing her a week ago. It felt very weird washing it. The shampoo didn't seem to be foaming at all like it usually does but the car was very clean after a week, it almost didn't need a wash to be honest! The alloys are what made me do it in the first place. Hopefully it stays this easy to clean :)

Decided not to do the XC90 because I flushed the coolant yesterday and told the parents to take it for a drive so it bleeds the air out of the system and I can top it up. Maybe tomorrow... maybe...
