Great man for grindingm out a top 10/20 finish when other people are thinking of the next tournament or feeling sorry for themselves.

I'm all for it, it's worth it when you get a Watson like display. It's also a nice way / occasion for former greats to bow out of the game. They've earned their stripes, let the next young thing earn theirs.

Feel sorry for Shane, it has been a rough time since Sunday morning of the US Open.

You once called me a sentimental fool.

    Can't go with above.

Has to be a minimum level of competence IMO.

That's because others are worried about missing the next tournament when they're playing with him.

Sky making a big deal of fact that Open is 'only' available with them this year.Have to say I forget but had BBC not lost coverage of the early rounds a few years back?

Is there no 'highlights' even on BBC this year?

    Bandit.

Isn't realy as Phil is off +5.2.

It was 39 pts on the round of his life.

He would hardly win anything with that in Ireland ;):D

BBC was supposed to do 2016 as their last year with live coverage of the Open but they jacked it in early and handed it over to Sky. As poster above advised, there are highlights in the evening, anchored as usual by Hazel Irvine with Peter Allis and 'Ken on the course'.

There is no live coverage on BBC of the 2016 Open. Next Sunday afternoon they're showing Davis Cup tennis on BBC1 and the Ulster (GAA) football final on BBC2 NI.

In relation to the last part of your query, I think the BBC used to show live coverage of the last two days of the Masters, can't remember if they did that again this year.

Nice steady front 9 from Kjeldsen to get to -6, I'll take level par home Soren.

Wind and rain coming in this afternoon and Phil now at -11.... just give him the jug now.

I'd almost agree with you but phil usually has a bit of a disaster at some stage. The person's to catch him will probably come from this side of the draw as well as Patrick reed I think.

Kaymer just after having a chipping mare and undoing all his good work.

Just when Phil suffers his first dropped shot

If that was at the snappers, then wouldn't blame him. They're like a stampeding herd at those major events sometimes the way they carry on.
