Who knows, the wind might blow on Sun afternoon and bring everyone back in. Think Lawrie.

I know it is Scotland and all that - but not the weather at present.

    Will know more tomorrow

I thought wind was forcast... What is it meant to do for the weekend?

Look it is weather with wind, so hard to say .

    But looking at weather

    http://www.yr.no/place/United_Kingdom/Scotland/Troon/hour_by_hour.html?wb48617274=2DD023EA

The weather from a wind speed persepective is less mid afternoon Saturday.

I think if you are not under par after today you are gone as in 50 to 100 /1 (IMO)

But - yes we have seen crazy stuff in past.

Rory doing great here to keep it going.

Rory doing great here to keep it going.

He's kept himself in it, just about. Those 2 earlier dropped shots around the turn will probably haunt him.

Eir left coverage before mcillroy finished to show half hour build up to Shams-Bohs.

Now I'm a fan of seeing LOI on tv, but really?

well done Rory - he dug in there, and in the past let them go.

3/4 early tomorrow he is well in this.

He still isn't making as much as others - but in great places.

There will be people who had booked flights etc who will be playing tomorrow.

Cut moved to +4. Earlier Faldo said Monty had 'no chance' of making the cut when he missed the par putt on the last.....Looks like he was wrong.

Thought today was a borefest. Eir didn't liven it up much either.

Anyone suggest a reason for Sky/Livingstone's obsession with Richard Sterne, pronounced Stern-eeeee?

Watching golf on sky gets very dull at times , its the same 8-10 golfers shown constantly in a 5 hour rotation . When showing the pga tour they always blame the us host broadcaster for not showing enough of a selection but not at the open when they are selecting players to show they are doing the exact same thing !

Young harmon is just painful to watch and raydar trying to be feherty gets a bit too annoying at times . That said the 3D hole features , the shot tracker thingy at the range and the likes of harmon snr along with mcginley make good tv .

And id watch henni zeul talk for hours on end about anything she wants :D

R and A have decided not to cut or roll the greens today due to the gale force winds and gusts forecast.

Have already moved a pin on the 3rd as they saw a potential problem.

Forecast still doesn't seem that bad unless things have suddenly changed, mostly cloudy some spells of rain, gusts up to 20mph. Maybe they're just being over cautious given recent problems with balls moving etc

They obviously have experts on site. But nothing over 10m/s predicted.

    Greens were horribly slow yesterday.

    I think today looks fine.

But again. They have actual weather experts there.

I'd say there will be a 66 or lower today.

Radar is unbelievably accurate in his shot calling. Very seldom gets it wrong, it's almost uncanny how he can predict how a player is going to play a particular shot and its outcome.

Far better than Feherty imo. Feherty's attempts at humour often cross the line. Wayne Riley almost always good for a laugh.

Yasss, Di Dougherty has gone for a lunch break. Helllo Miss Stirk.

FWIW, her summary there shows why she should be their no1 presenter, seems to always get shunted aside for the big events.

Jason Day is making a bit of a charge. Four under after nine holes.

Those drives from Mcilroy on the range were unreal. 312, 304, 311 carries....

And literally all of them on the exact same line. Phenomenal driving tbh.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with conditions.

    Good score out there.

    I like the black.

But genuinely. Rory would get refused from a shopping centre in the northside of Dublin. Lol

Yet his first drive of the day is as wayward as can be

Trying to make a point on 1 with driver.
He was visually more aggressive in swing.

    Could be lost.

    Well done Rory

    Well done Rory

important par putt coming up on the first you would feel

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,666 ✭✭✭Howjoe1

    Bogey...he will be kicking himself

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,698 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

    I genuinely don't get driver on 1.

    Not even hindsight.

Your guaranteed a birdie putt every day with an iron.

In fairness he often does it....did it every day at Hoylake when he won, I think, even though there was no real need for driver at the hole. So he's consistent anyway but with the wind there and the way he tried to give it a fair hoike, not sure it's a good tactic. The way he was smiling after coming off the green was odd...could take that either way.
