I cant remember the last year you didn't listen to a minor team and not hear about constant wasting of chances.

0-04 to 0-02 at half time after playing with a strong wind... 4 points isn't anywhere near good enough with a wind like that. Bar a miracle they'll lose by a fair few.

Least they'll get a quarter final either way so an opportunity to rectify today if needs be.

Well there you go, that's why bookies make money.

It was an extremely tight opening to the second half. No score for either team in over 10mins before Galway hit a quick 1-1 and never looked beat from there.

I think it's even more important at the minute that we start winning under age regularly again.

Thats two minors running but we'd gone 8 years without one before that, U21 yielded a few AIs but we picked up very few Connacht titles outside of those years.

We have a decent core at senior but to push on further we need some reinforcements coming behind.
The whole inter county scene has been embarrassingly below an acceptable mark for a county of our tradition and population for too long now and hopefully another embarrassing fact is put to rest in this senior game.

Next one after that is a win in Croke Park... that 15 years far too long.

FFS KW..... FAST RESTARTS and stop conceding kick outs.

Just gifts teams attacks and stop you building momentum.

Look at Fermanagh doing the same thing yesterday and Mayo just powered away winning all their balls.

We've lost two of ours already and Roscommon have won all of theirs... where is the logic in it?.

Every restart taking 30-45secs... sure you can do nothing but go long.

    So frustrating.

It's gutting to draw a game with a two point lead going into injury time but honestly I was happy with the performance in general.

The swarm defending seems to be a weak point for giving away soft frees. Guys like Wynne and Kyne are great one-on-one but we concede frees needlessly. That said I saw a lot more positives than negatives.

Their kickout defence was shocking. 2 men to counter a 4 man fullbackline which immediately negates our midfield advantage was crazy.

Comer was lethal when he got any ball but was isolated. Walsh looked off form and Sice died off in the second. But Danny, Heaney, Brannigan were impressive and Conroy continued his form from the Mayo game catching for fun.

The goal was another comical blunder that we're accustomed to at this point.

Talk is Pearse again for the replay if Mayo are at home on Saturday. Would have a lot of sympathy for Rossie fans having to face the daunting traffic management twice in a week.

Just back from it. Great crowd considering the weather.
Galway should have won, though I don't know if they deserved it.
Flynn at the end should have burst through for goal, there was open road in front of him, or else he would have been hauled down for a free, Walsh didn't give the return pass and the shot went out for a 45. Poor decision making by Walsh. 3 up at that stage was game over.
I think Sweeney is way off intercounty pace. Never saw much from him in the forwards to justify him wearing a Galway jersey and he looks about a stone overweight all year. Not up to intercounty standard. Not inspiring to know he's always one of our goto subs

I'd blame Flynn more than Walsh. He could have ran a few more yards and tapped it over himself but he passed to Walsh without even drawing the defender first. To be honest it seemed like he bottled taking the score himself and passed the buck. I wouldn't mind but he had a gale behind him. I'd say he could nearly have punched the ball over the bar.

Flynn is terrified of taking his own score and yet can score fantastic solo goals when he tries. The guy needs more reassurance and confidence from the backroom team.

Galway meeting Clare so in the quarter final. Hopefully we can beat them, especially after what Loughnane said!

The same Flynn who solo run and goal swung the Mayo game?

As I said. The same Flynn who scored a stunner against Kerry in Croker but won't kick his own points.

Galway carried out a near flawless game plan in the first half sitting deep and counter attacking. Unfortunately they brought the Same Tactics to the second half when they should have pushed up on the roscommon kickout and attacked at pace from defence. They were by far the better team throughout the match so should go into the replay with the confidence that they can put ros away if they're more positive in attack.

Next week will tell if today was opportunity missed. Hard to imagine Roscommon will be so poor again but the work rate today and the credit they still have for beating Mayo is still on Galways side.

There was huge pressure today to follow up the Mayo win by taking a long overdue title and you can understand why Galway retreated when they were ahead. A more confident team would have kicked the ball more in the second half into Comer and Cummins, (who played well it has to be said)

It was a mistake to put on the two Sweeneys. KWs loyalty to some guys is wildly misplaced. They are not county standard

Interestingly enough, comer and Walsh who'd be considered our main threats have been relatively quiet against mayo and Roscommon. Certainly Walsh is capable of having a bigger influence. Comer came into it in the second half today but had an awful first half. Hopefully they can have a bigger impact in the replay.

I'm very impressed with Johnny Heaney in both games. He fills that role brilliantly and seems to be able to ghost into scoring position quite regularly

To be fair Cathal Sweeney was probably our stand out defender last year. Don't know why he was brought in for a forward though.

Walsh still doesn't deliver enough end product given the talent he has but you're right that that was more Flynn's fault. He just needed to be a little bit more cute, either draw the defender and then play the pass or keep running and kick his own score or maybe draw a foul. A point at that stage would probably have been a winner. Flynn never scores points. He needs to take a leaf out of Sean O'Domhnaill's book and have a go when the time is right, as it was then.

Because we were defending a lead late in the game. That's fairly basic.

That substitution wasn't what cost us the win. A litany of unforced errors in a 10-15 minute spell midway through the second half is what cost Galway in this game. There was a lack of confidence to push on and win it when it was there for the taking but hopefully that confidence will come. Galway looked the better team all through this game and just need to throw off the shackles the next day.

They did that today in the first 10 mins of the second half but for some reason didn't keep it going. Had they have done Galway would have won this game by 4 or 5 points. That said, Roscommon will hardly be as bad the next day and they must be delighted to be getting a second chance after a terrible performance.

Declan Kyne seems like he could be the long term full back for Galway, had a great match I thought

With Mayo getting a home draw what happens with the replay?

Yep, I couldn't believe we didn't push up on their kick outs in the second half, really think we should have won the game comfortably enough, game was level early enough in the second half and was very difficult to score into that wind

And not on TV. Surely it should be televised?

The loser will be in a tough spot with a quick turnaround for the qualifiers.

Ulster Final at 2 and Leinster at 4, both on RTE. Sky have no rights to show it. So no chance of TV coverage.

Could they show a stream on RTE Player

Yep, just needs to trust his own ability. Ive seen that lad score phenomenal points at underage and in club games. I'd go as far as saying hes more capable at scoring than a couple of our forwards. Strange complaint that someone is too unselfish but its def valid here

There's been talk of them possibly showing it online but that hasn't been confirmed yet. Had Roscommon agreed to travel to Salthill again they'd have fixed this for Saturday afternoon and shown it live but Castlebar is taken for the Mayo Kildare game which is on Sky at 7. And Roscommon were quite entitled to choose Castlebar rather than a return to Salthill.

Has had 2 good matches but he had a very up & down league campaign. I wouldn't go as far as suggesting he will be our long term full back just yet. And @ 26, the most we could probably see is 4 - 5 years more.

Would Markievicz Park not have been an option in Sligo

Wouldn't get close to holding the crowd expected.

    Not a massive surprise.

If it was a qualifier or Provincial earlier round there's a chance they'd overlook it.

There's precedent to games being shown(Galway Offaly) and not shown (Galway Kilkenny) but with it being a final it would have been foolish to not provide the online option.

Here's hoping that the GAA tradition of the bookies favourite easily winning the reply holds true(seldom enough the drawn games are even close)
